  1. So far the best price I've found is the Luma Asean Pass. About 3600 Baht for someone 53, duration 2 months. Last time I bought AXA but now they are charging about 4,500 baht for just 2 months, when it was 3500 for 3 months before. I'm assuming that USD 20,000 health insurance is the only insurance that is required.
  2. Vaguely remember reading somewhere that if you arrive after a certain time PM you need to stay 2 nights in test and go. Don't know if it's true.
  3. If I have a 60 day tourist visa, what are the possible combinations (if any) to extend my stay to 120 days by doing one of the following: 1st preference - 1 border run + 1 30 day extension at immigration office (in which order should these be done?) 2nd preference - 2x border runs to get 30 days each
  4. Received a QR code with a link to a document which lists the Lanna hospital as the only testing site in Chiang Mai. I'm assuming that's the only option? Also it says you should get tested on day 5 to 7 after arrival. If I arrived on a Monday then I'm assuming that means I can get tested as early as Friday? (Want to leave ASAP and visit friends living out of the city)
  5. Need to get a faulty SIM card replaced. Google maps now shows true stores only at Lotus Kamtien, Central festival and Central airport.
  6. They need a lot of water to cultivate. So it's only environmentally unfriendly to grow them if it creates a shortage of water for other purposes or a lot of energy is used to get water to the trees.
  7. Is pyrethrum available in Thailand? In Australia you can buy it as a concentrate but i haven't seen it here. Willing to consider low hazard alternative if anyone has a suggestion. Main problems are ants and caterpillars. Ants absolutely murdered jalapino and pepper plants. Caterpillars a problem with the eggplants.
  8. Do you know if testing can be done when you walk in? Obviously with no website there is no way to make an appointment unless they are taking appointments over the phone...
  9. Strange, I have tried searching google as well as browsing Chiang Mai Ram website and I can't find any info about their PCR testing.
  10. Couldn't find any threads about this. Arriving back to CM Monday morning with an international flight Tuesday evening, so this is cutting it a bit fine. Any recommendations?
  11. From Google, the Tuberculosis Center seems to have opening hours mon - fri 8.30 to 15.30 so that's it I guess.
  12. I'm looking to get my certificate at the location near Suriwong bookshop. Anyone know if the service is available weekends?
  13. Does anyone know if the vaccine passport centers are open Saturday and or Sunday? Operating hours?
  14. My final STV extension runs out in November so I'll need to get the covid extension. Please link a page/thread showing requirements. Also, do they require you to show proof of insurance? My insurance runs out in November as well.
  15. I've seen a lot of products on Lazada but it's not clear if they are just fertilisers or actual cloning compounds. I've seen Clonex brand advertised but it seems a little pricey.
  16. I checked out Bakermart and Yok. Neither is of any use for Japanese cuisine. Definitely more available at Rimping but have yet to check out Tops.
  17. Last week I was able to extend my STV in Chiang Mai with over 2 weeks to expiry. So every office is different. It was comparatively quiet which is not surprising.
  18. Things like bonito flakes, mirin, cooking sake, natto etc. My plan was to investigate at Bakermart, Yok and as a last resort, Rinping. Any other suggestions, please let me know.
  19. 1. First 90 days due to expire on 17 August. How long in advance of that date can I go to immigration to apply? 2. Below are the only instructions I was able to find regarding the extension. It's a copy of an email from some immigration office. No idea if they are complete! Division1 Immigration DI Re: Extension of STV visa Dear Sir/Madame Documents Required for STV Visa extension 1. A Copy of Passport ( BIO Data page) 4. A Copy of Visa page in passport 5. A Copy of Last Arrival Stamp and Departure Card (TM.6) 6. ASQ certificate from Department of Disease Control and Receipt from hotel (issued by Hotel 7. Document for place of residence (e.g. Hotel, Condo) 8. Letter of health and accident insurance in Thailand (Insurance policy, Insurance schedule and Receipt)
  20. I recently came back from spending 8 months in Europe. I remember my first sip of Dutch Milk brand tasted really unnatural; like it was excessively heat treated. If I hadn't been drinking better tasting milk in Europe for so long I probably would never have noticed it. Meiji brand seems to taste more natural to me. I haven't tried any of the more obscure brands. I suppose there might be some better tasting organic milks available at farang supermarkets.
  21. Personally I like haddock and cod. Don't know which fish would substitute best for these. I live in Chiang Mai so river fish might be a better choice but I'm not too fussed.
