Why? The people who should be in prison are those generals who stole the country at the end of a gun from the elected PM's and their government. Especially the one who ordered the shooting of unarmed civilians at the temple then took over the elected government just as he was about to go on trial and hounded the very brave nurse who witnessed all as she gave aid... They are the true criminals.

I agree with everything you say, but, always a but, Thaksin has put himself and his needs above doing the right thing for the country

He had the chance to do the right thing and chose to put his own needs above that. He could have been a power for change but chose not to

He has said one thing to his supporters for year's and stated he would never get in bed with the Junta then done exactly that

I have always been anti junta but by Thaksin's action's I have had to face the fact that every Thai in any position of responsibility is first and foremost self serving and corrupt

That's why the action's of Pita and his party are so rare and commendable and that's exactly why the actions of Thaksin and co are so reprehensible

Thailand should make a charter with a few simple basic rules, like the American constitution and which can't be broken by anything, instead of after every coup a new charter. In the new constitution should be mentioned that coup/high treason is capital punishment in public..... period without clemency.

Slightly off topic but agreed in the main however you still need to remind most American's what an 'amendment' means as some seem to believe that mean's that it's set in stone

    from: https://www.britannica.com/topic/amendment

'amendment, in government and law, an addition or alteration made to a constitution, statute, or legislative bill or resolution. Amendments can be made to existing constitutions and statutes and are also commonly made to bills in the course of their passage through a legislature'

I reckon Thailand needs a few 'amendment's' in order to right the wrong's of junta anti democratic policies, unfortunately that would need a none corrupt and functioning judiciary which in Thailand is rarer than rocking horse faeces....

  3. Why we listening to a mouth piece of the most corrupt gang in Thailand?

Nothing they say can be trusted, they are undeniably rotten root and branch

All their spokesmen and leaders have come up the same way, for the hard of thinking that's through abject nepotism and absolute corruption

They are beyond the pale, they are beyond redemption, the only thing that can change any of it is a full reset

The hard reset requires the people to demand it and fight for it, unfortunately I won't be holding my breath but I can guarantee there will be something similar wrt RTP in the next week or so....

    Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

There are no respected military men amongst the powers that be in Thailand, there are many corrupt, nepotic, nitwits who are subject matter experts at self enrichment and betraying their countrymen, yep a whole shedload of them....

Are you willing to be on the very front line with your Thai family and friends?

It is very easy for us expats partly hidden behind our computers, and criticise the Thais for not "having a go".

It is a whole lot different when there are only a few metres between you and a load of soldiers and policemen armed to the teeth, with guns loaded with live ammunition and the safety catches off.

Behind them are water cannons and tanks.

Talk is much cheaper than lives.

You are absolutely right but the truth is that freedom is not free, there is a cost that has to be paid, if not today then tomorrow

If you are not willing or able to pay the price then you must accept that nothing will change

The powers that be will never, ever leave the trough of their own violation, they need to be removed and if there are no legal avenues then another way must be brought and indeed paid for, generally that involves blood and pain...

    Pedantic it is then!

    for the hard of thinking:

    What Is a Codeshare Flight?

Essentially, a codeshare flight is an agreement between airlines to sell seats on each other’s flights. This gives the appearance of airlines flying to more destinations. By doing so, the airlines typically share the revenue on that ticket.

Say you want to visit the incredible city of Istanbul, Turkey. If you search for flights to Istanbul, you’ll find plenty of flight options on American, Delta and United’s websites. If you look closely, you’ll see the top results will usually have flight numbers matching the airline you’re searching on.

For example, say you search for flights from New York City (JFK) to Istanbul (IST) on American Airlines’ website. The first result listed is a one-stop flight through London Heathrow (LHR). Both of the flights have American Airlines flight numbers, but neither are operated by American Airlines. Instead, you’ll find in small print that both flights are operated by British Airways:

Similarly, if you search the same route from New York City to Istanbul on Delta’s website, you’ll also see flights with Delta flight numbers. But again, Delta doesn’t operate these flights. In this case, Delta is selling codeshare flights on KLM-operated flights with a stop in Amsterdam (AMS).

By the way the 2 hour out out and 1 hour 40 in on the SAS flight was basic at best but was on time with a swift transfer, the Thai flight 11/12 hour was a bit <deleted> at best but on time and the baggage turned up where it was meant to

SAS website and online booking much slicker and easier then the Thai offering, just for clarity and to keep the pedants happier, notice I didn't say happy....

SAS have been flying to Manchester for decades - it's really not that difficult.

    No they code share!

No idea if you're slow on the uptake or just plain pedantic but if you Google  Manchester to Bangkok that will pop up

The topic is about Thai airways and as the 11/12 hour part of said flight they are the the main contributing airline, they are also in my humble opinion a bit crap or they were on this occasion...

It is anticipated that Thamanat Prompow, the secretary-general of the Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP), who is expected to serve as the agriculture minister, will head this panel to strategise a comprehensive solution to the problems.

Well if there's one man who knows all about getting around law's he's your man!

A true subject matter expert, I am sure he can get around the IUU fishing regulation after all as a convicted international heroin smuggler he managed to land a cabinet position, he must be very bright and persuasive, pity he got caught really!

A truly shameless travesty that this creature should be in any position of responsibility but hey TiT...
