Sanook Thai Caption: Couldn't steal so takes a nap Sanook reported on the antics of a presumably drunk man who tried to steal from a sushi shop in Chiang Mai. Having failed to do that he slept all night in his shorts in the VIP room before leaving after 5am on his motorcycle dropping his licence in the car park. Clear CCTV at the Daiso Sushi restaurant on the 700th Anniversary of Chiang Mai stadium road revealed the incident that started around midnight Monday. After parking his bike beside the restaurant he broke in at the rear then tried and failed to smash his way into an accounts' office. He smashed a door leading upstairs in a rage then after sleeping for a while on a table removed his clothes except for his shorts and turned the air and light on in the VIP room where he spent the rest of the night as if it was his own home. At 5.10 am he turned the lights out and left. Sitthisak, 31, the manager discovered all this when he turned up for work in the morning and reviewed the CCTV. In addition a driving licence was found in the car park and when the picture was compared to the man on the CCTV it was clearly him. Mae Ping Muang police took that into evidence and dusted for prints before they issued a summons for trespass at night and attempted theft. Sitthisak said the man was clearly drunk adding that at one point he had relieved himself up against a door inside the restaurant. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-08-10 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Sanook Thai Caption: All the customers clear out Sanook published a five minute+ video from two CCTV angles when trouble raged in a moo katha (pork BBQ) restaurant in the Bang Yi Khan police jurisdiction in the Thai capital Bangkok. The VIDEO showed a situation gradually escalating out of control before a man armed with two large knives caused all the customers to flee into the rain outside leaving him still ranting. Bang Yi Khan police arrested a man at 4 am Tuesday in a house nearby following the incident at the Arun Amarin 36 shop around 7.30pm on Monday. Chayanon, 24, was charged with criminal damage, drug taking, threatening behavior and weapons offences. Police said a combination of meds and drugs set him off. Shop owner Juthalak told the media that the man came in to make an order and said: "Are you f+++ing looking at me?" to a staffer who replied that they were just taking his order. The staffer advised him to go home and cool off before the man said to other customers "wash the soles of my @@@@ feet". Things escalated with some stool throwing. The customer then left and returned with two knives saying to customers: "You want this do you?" One customer picked up a baseball bat and the melee caused all the customers to flee into the rain. The man damaged items in the shop and cars outside. Juthalak said she had seen him on his motorcycle but never spoken to him. She discovered after that he was a crystal meth or "ice" user. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-08-10 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Daily News Thai Caption: So dangerous Daily News reported on a TikTok video of about ten seconds posted by amiteo217 that showed a rusty old gas tank on the back of a pick-up spewing gas. It was surrounded by other canisters being delivered outside shops. The poster said he had heard and smelled gas after getting his lunch and he alerted the lady at the food shop who got the owner to do something. He responded in a "chilled" manner by just stuffing a old rag in the leak and calling his boss. The poster spoke facetiously of Thailand's "quality gas canisters". Netizens reacted in droves pointing out that a single spark could have led to disaster. To which the poster responded that he didn't dare start his ignition. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-08-10 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Picture: Thai Rath Thai Rath published a video of the reenactment of a murder that took place early Monday morning outside a plastic store at the See Mum Muang market in Lamlukka, Pathum Thani north of the Thai capital Bangkok. Sanook published still shots of what had unfolded when Tharinya Kiatniru, 40, arrived at the Jae Nee store and shot Supornchai, 40, four times just after he had finished giving alms to monks. The video showed the murderess in red and black with a toy gun. The mother of the victim asks officers if she can point at her but she is kept back. The victim - played by a man in a mask - fell to the ground after being shot twice by a 9mm gun that Tharinya had bought on the internet. Picture: Sanook She then pumped two more bullets into him to finish him off. Then she pointed the gun at her own head before lowering it and talking to the dead man. At this point a staffer at the store grabbed the gun and she was tied up to a metal post before police arrived. (These details appeared not to be part of the reenactment). Following the reenactment of the crime Tharinya went on the ground to "graap" to show her remorse and apology to the mother of Supornchai. She was further restrained and told to calm down after aiming a kick at the head of the woman who killed her son. Tharinya was then taken away to the Khu Khot police station. Station chief Pol Col Manatwet Thong-im said she had been charged with premiditated murder and weapons' offences and would appear in Thanyaburi court today. Tharinya apologised to the family and said she wanted to die too. She said that she was beaten regularly by Supornchai in a stormy 4 year relationship that yielded no children. She had worked as a cashier at the plastics store. He told her to get out but their arguments continued over the phone in which he dared her to come and shoot him. ASEAN NOW notes that a former police chief tried to end these reenactments some years ago but they persist to this day. Many descend into chaos as people try to attack and even lynch those featured in them. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-08-10 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Picture: Thai Rath A group of 38 traders, resort owners and restaurant owners from Mae Rampung beach and Koh Samet files for damages in the sum of more than 38 million baht over the oil spill that severely damaged the Rayong coast back in January. The claims are against Star Petroleum Refining Co Ltd or SPRC. Leading the case are businesswomen Sompong Sirimha and Thanyalak Rattanaphan along with a total of 38 people who are asking for 38,834,175 baht in damages incurred to their businesses. Yesterday they were pictured with their two lawyers and other representatives from the tourism and business sectors outside the court in Rayong. Lawyer Rat Kanphai said that the court had received the claim and investigations would follow in what is a civil case. He said that many more claims would follow against the company by other groups. Thai Rath reported that seven months of negotiations with the petroleum company had stalled with claimants saying they did not feel the company was genuine in providing relief. Hence the matter is now being dealt with in the courts.
