Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has instructed relevant agencies to launch energy conservation campaigns as part of the national agenda, with the public sector taking the lead, to reduce the consumption of energy by 20% and to cut the use of fuel by 10%, as global oil prices rise as a result of the war in Ukraine, said Government Spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana on Tuesday. He said that the prime minister has also instructed the ministries of Energy and Commerce to develop measures to help low-income earners and to try to maintain the prices of consumer products. Diesel prices as of yesterday were capped at slightly below 30 baht/litre, while gasohol prices were between 30-38 baht/litre. A man called Wirat and a friend found the body of an eight month old foetus in the freezer at a house in Muang district. Wirat's mum said it must be her adopted son's aborted baby. He had gone with a Thai interpreter to do a deal for the gold worth 2 million baht at The Old Siam Shopping Plaza in Wang Burapha Phirom. After getting certification for the gold he ran off with it. But Thai police tracked him over the next several hours until they arrested him on the footpath in Siripong Road just after midnight Tuesday morning. He was in possession of documentation related to the gold.
