  4. Piture: Thai Rath Thai Rath reported on the latest developments following the death of Australian cricketing legend Shane Warne, 52, on Koh Samui on Friday. In an incident that has shocked the sporting world Mr Warne was found unresponsive and given CPR by a friend and rescue services before he was later pronounced dead. No suspicious circumstances have been found but due to the high profile of the victim he was taken yesterday from the holiday island to Surat Thani hospital on the mainland via ambulance and ferry from Nathon. Accompanying the body was Australian ambassador Allan McKinnon who had earlier met with Bo Phut, tourist and immigration police. Interviewed in connection with the case were three friends of Mr Warne, two staff and four massage workers. Mr McKinnon thanked the Thai authorities for their transparent and detailed work on the case. Bo Phut chief of police Pol Col Yuthana Sirisombat said it was important that everything was done to ensure public confidence in the case. He said that initial findings from his side of the case was that Mr Warne had suffered from asthma and had complained of chest pains since he left Australian to come to Thailand and had been treated for a heart condition. The rest of the investigation was up to the medical staff at Surat Thaini Hospital, he noted. Mr Warne was widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time and certainly the sport's finest leg spinner, notes ASEAN NOW. In a career spanning Australia, India and England he was a household name for millions. His family have accepted the Australian government's offer of a state funeral. 6. Daily News Thai Caption: Bail denied Daily News reported that Pol Lt-Gen Jiraphop Phuridech of the Thai police had instructed the RTP's foreign affairs department and prosecutors to oppose bail for one of the suspects in the murder of Jimi Sandhu. The Indian gangland figure was gunned down outside a villa at the Beachfront Hotel Phuket in Rawai on February 4th. Two men fled Thailand to Europe then Canada following the attack. The media said they were former Canadian servicemen. Matthew Dupre was arrested in Canada on February 20th and will appear in court in Alberta on this coming Friday. The Thais will present a case for bail to be denied in that the attack was a brazen, well planned hit with a planned getaway route and that the suspect represents a flight risk if granted bail. The Thais want to bring Mr Dupre back to Thailand for prosecution. Daily News made no comments about the hunt for the other assailant believed to also be in Canada, notes ASEAN NOW. Nor did they mention the fact that the Canadian authorities could oppose Dupre's return to Thailand on the grounds that he could face the death penalty. The Thais would need to drop the death penalty stipulation before the Canadian authorities would extradite the suspect. The case has caused widespread comment in Thailand and has been compared to the infamous case of Red Bull heir Boss still wanted for the killing of a policeman in Bangkok in 2012. The long-term socioeconomic consequences of this phenomenon are being fully grasped at various levels, prompting the government to seek urgent measures to boost the birth rate. Many state agencies are looking for new incentives to encourage singles to marry and for couples to have children. Alarming low birth rate Thailand has been entering an aging society since 2005, due to the declining fertility rate and the improving healthcare system which is helping people live longer. Thailand’s total fertility rate (TFR) dropped to just 1.5 last year from 2 in 1995, and the number of newborns was the lowest in years at around 540,000 compared to 820,000 in 1995. -- © Copyright Thai PBS 2022-03-07 - Aetna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m.
