There were at least 3 repatration flights from Bangkok to Poland late May, she just wanted to wait out the Pandemic on free food and visa lol.
Thailand is not cheap for Poles, we have the same prices for food/uber, so she had to had money when she traveled, not like she was super poor to start with.
And I forgot, you could always fly to Germany and they would let you transit to Poland during all these times.

This is just politics. Far too many governments are using covid for their own purpose.

If you expect here in Thailand that the sidewalks are like say in the US! Then you will trip, fall get hurt! Especially if you are older! Be careful I know Thailand but have tripped! Warning that's all!
Lol, I remember when I went to work in the USA. My first visit there, I was driven to the mall, I wanted to go for a walk...
Surprise, surprise - no sidewalks at all, car accessible only ????

I would not book a LOT flight before Poland had announced border opening.
You will have a hard time getting money back, better go with Lufthansa which owns Swiss, more options.

Yeah, I already have got the work permit, but my visa has expired.
Ok, this sounds good, no reason to wait then.
Thank you.

Hi,
Simple question,
How long is non-B work visa valid before coming to the country?
I will need to get one, because mine has expired while abroad and I am wondering if I can get one month in advance, because I am not sure when flights will resume.
So basicly - how long is it valid before entering Thailand?

Yep, Europe is pretty F***** Up.
That's why Thailand is leading the way, they don't want Thailand to end up like Europe.
Well done Thailand, keep up the good work.
My friend, there are 44 countries in Europe and not all of them are doing bad like the ones that get most of the press.
Also, there has been only 4k test per 1M population done in Thailand, compared to tens of thousands in some European countries.
Thailand is also ranked very low on freedom of speech, so I am not sure if we can believe those numbers.
Before you tell me to go home if I do not like it:
I don't care, I like it, I am just saying it is hard to compare.

Yes every EU country has it own regulations but on 17th March the EU proposed a ban which was accepted by all of the EU member states
https://www.politico.eu/article/the-eu-european-union-coronavirus-covid19-travel-ban-explained/
If you care to list the countries where you feel this isn't the case please proceed
Quote from article you linked:
Confirms what I said, I made the relevant part in bold.
They let people with visas in, as opposed to Thailand or as someone said Australia.
QuoteNon-EU+ citizens would temporarily not be allowed into the bloc, but there are exemptions. According to von der Leyen’s proposal, the restrictions would not apply to people transporting goods and other transport staff.
Long-term residents under the Long-term Residence Directive or who hold long-term visas, are family members of EU nationals, as well as people traveling for “imperative” family reasons will be allowed to enter. Health care professionals, health researchers and elderly-care professionals would also be exempt.

Thats not correct at the moment all Non-EU nationals are banned from entering the EU to June 15th at the moment that date may be extended or not
No. Every country has its own regulations, there is no EU-wide policy, simply because EU has no such power over member states.
My country lets people with work permits and residency in. I know other countries do that too.

Thailand is only letting Thais into the country.
You'll find most countries with the safety for their citizens are doing the same.
Australia is following the same principles.
I don't think all this negative talk about Thailand is fair.
Most of you negative talkers should be accountable, look at how you dealt with this issue in the early stages, could you have done something different?
If you were proactive and made a different decision, possibly a financial decision, was work and the dollars your reason for not returning to Thailand before it was in lockdown. We all saw it coming, sitting back watching maybe you're to blame. It's much easier to lay blame on others, could be you're to blame.
If you had to chose again maybe you would have chosen to leave and return to Thailand earlier.
I reckon $$$, poor decision making and procrastination had a lot to do with your troubles.... NOT Thailand.
No - Australia is not most of the countries!
Most countries let people with residency/work visa/marriage visa in!
In EU you can pretty much land in any country if you transit to your own(that is part of the EU, UK or Norway/Switzerland) after that.

I am in the same situation, but I just wait.
I would seriously think about changing jobs if the employer can't understand the situation and wait it out.
-
What the...
Why would someone do that? If think those people would be happier in a place they can recall in their distant still existing memories. It would mess me up completely If I had had this one memory of my home here in Europe and suddenly woken up in this tropical country with Asian people around me, talking strange language/accent

The embassy has no say in the matter. Only the Prime Minister can give an exemption to the total ban on foreigners entering Thailand at this time.
Yes, ofcourse, but no one will go to him directly. This will be decided by one of his minions, and embassy could ask that person.

One's HR could negotiate with the embassy to have their "essential" employee let on the repatriation flight - given there are any from your country or country you are allowed to travel.
Question is, what is cheaper for the company - new visa/WP or this.
I think everything has been said here, now we wait.

I am in the exact same position, but I am waiting till the middle of the month to see if Thai government lifts the ban for WP holders. If not, my HR will contact immigration/embassy and figure this out and they are in the know I tell you.
I will keep you posted.

Why won't she just let her HR figure this out?

Whats the price? I might buy when I come back, unless you cannot wait.

It would do no good since people would not read it and still do a post.
I think it could be solved somehow.
Anyways, thanks for clarification.
-
It has been 17 pages, so can please anyone tell me if this somehow extends re-entry permits/visas when outside Thailand?
By the way, next time admins could post a FAQ in first post to avoid 17 pages of the same questions ????

I don't want to ask here every day, so is there a website with land border crossing status?
May be in Thai.

In case of the 100k corona insurces, will the public health insurance that come with my paid taxes work?

Getting fired

I got fired today.
I was still on probation(worked for less than 120 days). Usually in my country when you get fired, you just sign document that says you understand that you are getting fired(or have it sent).
Sometimes - in my country employer will try to give you resignation to sign so you don't get any benefits.
This is what happened in my job here in Thailand, they gave me a resignation letter to sign.
Is this a normal procedure?
