  5. On my onward trip to Thailand in November last year, I got that uneasy feeling of going through Immigration, which most of us do, as this was my 3rd VE I was a little more uneasy than usual, not that makes much difference I am uneasy on the 1st VE for the year . I am 81 years old and wheelchair assisted, so when I was wheeled into immigration for wheelchair assisted people, I could see that what was Coming and to my horror a young female immigration officer and straight away new that things would not be easy . I know The Lady IO was only doing her job, but as I put my fingers onto the finger print test, she started how long you stay in a very very abrupt high tone non welcome voice, 39 days I replied in a soft voice ( had bite my lips ) ,next who are saying with, are staying with someone ( meaning a lady ) ,that's my private life, anyway I replied going fishing and to get Thai massage for the bad legs I have, next where you stay ,I replied I have a hotel booking on my phone do you want to look, so she l looked and then stamp me in. I do understand the lady IO was only doing her job, but in the all 44 years of coming to Thailand nothing has changed ,this time I felt so un welcome , it would be nice to be spoken to nicely, I use to think Thais had a lot of respect for older people I had the feeling my 3rd VE was maybe some of the issue in her abrupt tone, but she did not bring that up. Kind Regards Popa
  6. i gave up smoking 30 years ago and really don't want to breath second hand smoke, just how the arrogance of people who come to Thailand, think they have the god dam right to sit down ,light up and blow smoke or vape all over you , Most cannot do it in their own country , yet they ignore others around them , it really piss's me off , as for many nights of having to leave to go home early from a night out ,because it gets so bad with many smoking all around you . Regards Popa
  7. Yes how true , but I can remember in my past time of 43 years of coming to Thailand ,the Bath getting down to 15/16 Bath to the Australian $$$$ ..Regards Popa
  8. Yes they made it easy to come in, now they are going to make it harder to come in , it seems to me the end product to all this is , they want follow what you are doing in their country , I think like a lot others , I will be finding some were else to holiday . Regards Popa
  9. Every body is forgetting that this seems to be covering death and injuries only , what about health problems such as heart attacks , strokes or a lot of other serious health problems , there are more and more older people that find it impossible to get insurance because of age, or to many pass health reasons , to be covered with this insurance would be good for them also.. Regards Popa
  10. Coming for the third time VE in middle of November always feel a little uneasy , but have never had a problem in past , came in 3 times VE last year , I am 81 years old and come in a wheel chair assisted , i am unable to use a computer just to old and to hard to do a visa for me. Left last stay two and half months ago , Regards Popa
  11. Yes I do agree , I have been coming and leaving Thailand for the past 43 years and for the past 25 years, I have been coming and leaving 3 times a year except for covid .I enjoy Thailand , but prefer to come and leave and would never want to live in Thailand . Regards Popa
  12. Yes I fully agree , more more more money , I really don't understand why any of you bother with this. Regards Popa
  13. The only time i have ever lost money was not in a room safe , but safe deposit box's behind reception desk ,which opened with your own password . The staff of course denied taking money from it , but at first use of it ,I was only putting Thai Bath only in and as with Thai Bath , there is so much of it , I thought ,maybe I miss counted it ,when I thought some was missing , but the next time I put only Australian dollars only, $ 1700 in 100 dollar bills easy to count and of course $ 200 went missing,,they were cunning , only taking a little amount at a time , in the hope you did not notice . Regards Popa
  14. It's not hard to get a extension at immigration with a letter from a doctor , had the same problem a few years ago , after a motor bike accident , while on a 30 visa exemption ,they extended my stay three times because of doctor saying I was unable to fly. Regards Popa
  15. When submitting a tourist e-visa online can I book just one night accommodation for the first night , as I want to travel to all over Thailand, it's just to hard to work it all out otherwise ,,,thanks for any help. Regards Popa
  16. The ointment or cream is hard to use in your hair, if that's were you have the problem, the Dermovate liquid is easy to use if you have problem in the , scalp otherwise use ointment or cream for all other place's . The Dermovate is hard to find , but it is around if you look , I was in Pattaya only a few weeks ago and bought some , just got to look around in the outer areas of Pattaya , such as the Dark side , it's always been hard to find , because it's a product that works . Regards Popa
  17. IF you check ,it might be like Maliaysa airlinesi they have 3 lots of pricing , no luggage ,carry on only, 20 kilo and 35 kilo , all comes up as proceed through the booking ,is also a little confusing when you first go into it . Regards Popa
  18. It's called Dermovate scalp application 30 ml liquid , have one in my hand , use it all the time , it's the only thing that will fix my problem, got onto it , on a trip to Korrat , stoped at a chemist and ashed for something to fix the problem I had, bad a the time , in a couple days use, it was gone,, Regards Popa
  19. Yes Dermavate will fix the problem, if you can't get the ointment the liquid one is available in Pattaya ,as I have just come back from Pattaya , were I bought and used it while there. The liquid is better for scalp ,as it is easy to scatter around in the hair. Another good one for skin product is Quadriderm both of these can be hard to find, but they are both made in Thailand and if you shop around you will find some. Regards Popa
  20. Not long had a full set done here in Australia and that was $2500.. Regards Popa
  21. As I am elderly person , who finds it difficult in doing a visa application on line , I was just wondering if it is possible to do it all and send the lot to the Sydney embassy by post with a prepaid return envelope . I am able to download the application form no problem . So all I have to do is fill out the application form and staple photo on it , add financial statement from bank and enclose all this along with my passport , sending it all by Australia Post to Sydney Embassy , enclosing a return prepaid envelope so they send it all back to me. Any help appreciated thanks. ..................Regards Popa
  22. It has, this thread is about the change - no insurance required for anyone now. That is not correct , in the other press report that I read on this , they are saying on the head line that insurance is canceled and then if you read further into this report it says you still need the insurance ( REALLY ) , if you are returning to a country that requires PT--PCR test. The only difference in this press report is, they are not stopping you getting on the airline and have stated that they will have random checks and if you should have had insurance ,you will then be made to buy one before they let you in. Regards Popa .
  23. It doesn't say anything about compelling you to make a purchase, just a friendly, well-intentioned suggestion. ???? Other report articles in the press are different to this report, can't they for once in their life get this right, so that all those traveling to Thailand know what is required. Regards Popa
  24. Thank you mate ,, spot on.. Regards Popa
  25. I am willing to buy insurance , but will be unable to because of the system we have against old people . Do you really think I should be discriminated against because of my age. I am fit and healthy with no health problems at all , Regards Popa
