I think a lot of these incidents are caused by abrupt undertaking manoeuvres. They move to the inside / hard shoulder to get past whatever is in lane 2 / lane 1 without looking first what is in the inside lane / hard shoulder they are moving to. They are then going 60 kmh + and have absolutely nowhere to go faced with the back of a truck. Phones, alcohol, speeding, tiredness or a combination of these and undertaking also all play their part.

Every day, Thais riding into huge parked vehicles at high speed. Quite incredible. Lemmings come to mind.

Once when I was looking for an apartment in Sri Racha, I made the mistake of saying I was working on one of the industrial estates, which I was. No previous problems I would prefer Sri Racha but am happy to use Pattaya or even Bangkok if you think it is worth the trip. I previously used Phaya Thai Sri Racha for an unrelated issue. They may still have me on their records. I can post symptoms if you wish. I have prepared a simple document listing them for the doctor.
