B.S. Only for Frat boys....regular Americans have parents who beat the crap out of us if we acted stupid. Trust me.

Yes, and per Thailand's Fraud law, that is a criminal offense. Three to Seven years in prison if found guilty.

The challenge he would have is that he was a teacher having a relationship with a student. There is no other real crime.
You have no clue about American laws regarding this issue. The Feds will be waiting for him. In case you have not been paying attention, the USA has been on a mission to catch guys like this creep.

Bless you.
Often. Opportunist thefts. Pick pockets. Dual pricing. Scams specifically targetting foregingers. None of which negates the fact I chose to live here for the many positives.
So do I.
Neither have I.
None of the above means that is was right for the locals to potentially kill him. I already wrote that the Brit was a muppet and was asking for it. He deserved to be put in his place. He did not deserve to be almost killed. If you think he did deserve to be killed then you've probably lived here too long.
Dude are you serious? Where did I say he deserved to be killed? As I said, you have no clue. Yes, he deserved the ass whipping he got. Simple, mind your own business in Thailand. Do not mess with locals and do not try to think that you can change how they live here. If they want to drink at 5 am, so what? And, every country have scammers, so what is your point?- 1

The Brit in the story was a muppet and was asking to be attacked. That doesn't mean the attackers should have taken him up on his offer.
You have no clue about Thailand. Do not mess with Thais after they are done working and chilling and minding their own business!!!! Do you see Thais messing with us Tourists? I live here and never have been messed with my locals. They put up with us and say hello and that's it. This is their country and I respect that. Some folks just cannot handle alcohol and need to be reminded that they are not home.

I am very sorry to hear that these two Thai men are now in trouble for the ass whipping provided to this Quality Tourist.
If they set up a GoFundMe page, I will donate.
As for the Brit, lock him up in Soi 9 for a month and then send him home. Blacklist forever!

As an American, the laws in the US apply to all US passport holders, worldwide. Often the Thai cop will demand 100,000 baht, if she is 17, or one million baht, if 16 or under. You do not have it? You are turned over. Many guys end up on planes with an assistant DA dispatched from DC, in handcuffs, facing federal statutory rape charges. Unless you have $4,000,000 to throw at a team of lawyers, you are looking at 10 years in a federal pen. And you will be on the sex offender list for the rest of your life. Your life is basically finished, over one bad decision.
Many will dispute this. I have spoken to lawyers about it, and it is correct info. And the US government is over zealous about the underage thing. Not worth it. Always best to check if she looks really young. If she does not have ID, that is real trouble. Do not proceed. The laws concerning leaving the country to have sex with a minor are defined in 18 U.S.C. § 2423.
The statute makes the following acts illegal:
Traveling to engage in sexual conduct: If a person themselves leaves the state or country to have illicit sex with a person under 18 years of age, they are committing a sexual offense. A conviction carries with it a prison sentence of up to 30 years and/or a fine.
Having illicit sex in a foreign country: If a U.S. citizen goes to another country to live temporarily or permanently and engages in criminal sexual conduct with a minor while there, they are committing an offense. If they are convicted, they could be fined and/or be imprisoned for up to 30 years.
HOW IS ILLICIT SEXUAL CONDUCT DEFINED?
According to 18 U.S.C. § 2423, illicit sexual conduct means:
Engaging in a sex act with a person under 18 years of age,
Engaging in a sex act in exchange for something of value with someone under 18 years of age, or
Producing child pornography
A sex act can include masturbation, sexual intercourse, or physical contact with a person’s genitals.

Absolutely correct. Folks seem to forget that the USA is not fooling around when it comes to underage sex and human trafficking. In addition, you are marked for life and your chance of getting a good job is over! Finally, in Prison, I can assure you the Gangs (especially the Aryan Gangs) do not like you when you get in. Trust me.

"Federal law prohibits an American citizen or resident to travel to a foreign country with intent to engage in any form of sexual conduct with a minor (defined as persons under 18 years of age). It is also illegal to help organize or assist another person to travel for these purposes."
Folks need to realize that Americans in Thailand are under the watchful eye of the FBI human trafficking team. Trust me, they are not effing around and hunt these guys down with a passion. His life is hell when he gets home.

If he is brought back to America, he may have to do Federal Prison time, which is hell on earth for Child Predators. Seriously, his journey of pain has just started.
And he deserves every punishment the Lifers will bring on him when he is sent to the Big House.

Remember America in 2008 when Real Estate crashed...well, it is China's turn and it will get ugly.
On the positive side, less Buses here in Patts and less flags to worry about.
Next year will be rough if Country Garden implodes in China.

As an American, I am not surprised.
I have not been to Pattaya in nearly 20 years. Tell me what I should do when I visit next month.
in Pattaya
Posted
1. Go to Soi 6....this month and next is the best time to be there. After Oct 31, forget it.
2. Go to Walking Street....but do not get rinsed by the Go Go babes...very beautiful, but they are heartless mercs. Will rinse you and make you enjoy it. Not for the weak.
3. Tree Town is fun now. Many options to chill and there is a nice sports bar or two to watch NFL or Soccer
4. LK is fun and again, many options.
5. Soi 7 is coming back to life...slowly.
6. Some really good restaurants in Pattaya and Jomtien...very good.
