  1. Honestly, By the time one calendar year passes right now I am willing to bet everything that I own that tourism will be roughly what it is right now. Nearly zero in the grand scheme of things. It is too hard to travel anywhere, let alone a country like Thailand. Insurance costs alone make it quite expensive and completely not worth it.
  2. This has been regurgitating. For a YEAR AND A HALF!!!
  3. And just to be clear, he is not smart. At all. Not one little bit.
  4. Especially Sinovac. It is not universally recognized as, well... anything so far. Or the russian vaccine. I am mixed up - sometimes literally and vaccine wise. I am not worried and happy to be fully vaccinated. Eventually when I am ready to travel again I will either get a booster or they will update what is recognized or not.
  5. This isn't a must read for me anymore - the cases could be 100k per day but we will never truly know what they are - the country is too.... different? Nice way of putting it. ???? I'd even go by the death toll but how many are going and not being counted? Nobody really knows what is going on.
  6. Sorry, the needle on the record player just got yanked sideways. Did he actually say that 80 percent of Thailand would be vaccinated by the end of the year?
  7. It is very easy to have flat numbers when the hospitals are full and there is no care to get even if you can get a test - which many cannot. I'm not going to harp on Thailand about this - a lot of countries had this happen. Things are pretty messed up right now.
  8. Well I've heard that the procedures being followed at schools are rather horrifying. They don't even have hand sanitization. Both on the ground and on this forum. So I do hope that you see why your version of truth is far from what is really truly going on. It's nice to hear that your old school is following protocols but this is not the norm.
  9. If you have 2,000 every day catching it their parents will catch it and the whole house. That's 60000 per month then add that into every household. How many live there? I don't see any way that they can control this.
  10. Probably another six months of it being this desperate. Let's hope this thing mutates into something that isn't so deadly and things can be relaxed. It's getting brutal.
  11. I heard that they will be erecting grand-stands so that the media and viewing public can watch the activities below safely. Thumbs will be raised and lowered.
  12. It shouldn't be concerning to us that Thais love to have their ears tickled with such preposterous claims. It's a culture thing. After all, this is what giving hope is - laying false claim to unattainable numbers. The worst case scenario that I saw touted would be the best case scenario. There will be no tourism for the winter season in Thailand other than that absolutely preposterous sandbox that they have going. Nobody in their right mind would go vacation where the health care system is collapsing right before our very eyes. Come on vacation, if you get sick you die.
  13. Most of these people are in such bad shape health wise they are nearly going to die anyways. IF they got covid it would be immediately game over. People die every day.
  14. I wonder how this news story will play out one year from today when it's pretty much exactly the same as right now and hasn't improved at all...
  15. I believe everything on the net as long as it fits my narrative.
  16. 23 thousand new infections every day is absolutely brutal. I know everyone is getting used to these numbers but this is astronomical. People are certainly dying without any medical care.
