  1. I posted recently about my border run to Laos, which took an hour that day. I spoke to an agent on arrival who informed me from Pattaya, no mini van visa runs, ATM. Then arranged flights, as dislike long bus trips, to Udon, with a few nights stay, in the event of a forced night in Vientiane. I got strange responses about, over and back, but kept moving, window to window. Luckily had buses leaving both checkpoints. No waiting. 25 baht over, 35 baht back. Good luck whatever you do.
  2. I've just returned from Laos border. Chose a few nights stay in Udon. Used the train early morning 7am, about 11 baht. I paid Australia dollars online for Evisa $70 odd. Plus 100 baht at window. The visa went on any page covering old visa stamps. I did request on a blank page but away from rear of passport. Satisfied I did keep get asking where in Laos I was staying but said, returning to Thailand today didn't seem to be an issue and from Nong back to Nong took an hour. Mini buses leave to Udon as you walk away from immigration, on the left 55 baht to Udon bus station.
  3. I've spoken to Thai ladies on beach Rd who often have a few surrounding them asking for the obvious. Most say they just move them on or suggest they go back to the middle of the road from whence they come.
  4. When it comes to motorbike nuisance, it's only a replication of motorbike taxis and delivery drivers, and you can't forget those on oversized bikes, happy to have neighbourhoods aware they are around. Just makes for more caution.
  5. 7+If you go to the AFL app there's usually an add for Fox Sports overseas app. Kayo can't be used as they detect your not in Australia even with a VPN. Watch AFL it's called. Not sure with NRL. But various apps android do the cricket, such as PTV Sports. The 7+ and 9 now if you're already download apps and registered before leaving Australia with VPN work.
  6. No Bells yet but Jomtein bus stops along Sukhumvit.
  7. Expect to wait a few hours. Invariably the person before you got the last ticket on their next service. Has happened to me more often, same from Mo Chit, than get a seat on next bus. Always a gamble and best to rush to get a ticket before doing anything else. Good luck to all who know this.
  8. I brought 2 in from Australia never questioned on leaving in my carry on or at arrival. As mentioned sellers on FB but ask locals or if you see locals using ask where can buy as cigs are <deleted> after vaping unless no choice
  9. If you want to discuss issues they have a FB and chat through messenger. Will reply in time. I'm currently using remitly to transfer funds to BB as takes 5 mins at around $5. Reasonable exchange rates given 25 baht to dollar. Maybe use webpage log in rather than app. A few pointers.
  10. You may find XE have free fees as do others for the first few transactions, but then charge. Always check and recheck, before transfer. Still finding WU ok but always researching.
  11. Whilst I don't have it on hand but will check, you need to do a will through a legal person in Thailand. They from memory are about 5000 baht, but it gives Thai authorities locally to respect your wishes, even with you died. It's believed best practice if you can afford it. Personal choice of course.
  12. Just remember to take photos of it before you Use it. Every angle.
  13. Over 3300 baht to 10000 baht for a one night Sha +. Hopefully includes fee for test. I'll wait till new year!
  14. So.. Will the old one month visa when moving through airport immigration be available, that you can extend for further periods, as it seems they're welcoming longer stays.
  15. Is special tourist visa still available or go visa on arrival, and get non O? Cheers
  16. So no quarantine, why SHA+! Your arriving double vac, health insurance, and negative test prior to departure. Surely could get a test anywhere day 2, or on arrival, and stay where you please with app for location.
  17. It's a constantly changing situation bar coe though that could change as the major and I repeat major problem for all entering Thailand. Insurance, accommodation, shplus, even flights possible, it's dealing with embassy's and consulates, in a restricted and unreliable fashion, scares most would be travellers. Dump coe.....,.visa on arrival touted by some. Still infections are around 10000 and even if double vaccinated your not 100% immune. I'm in Sydney, more waiting Monday, freedom day than pursuing Xmas in Thailand. Next year's challenge, when conditions for entertaining Thailand ease or tourism to Thailand from Thai authorities bad air ATM.
  18. You can reach ANZ on messenger. Try searching on FB first. Then arrange for them to call you, as I have done on a few occasions. Hope that helps.
  19. Not there but from what I read the place your staying at needs to be something plus, but also was of the understanding of 2 or 3 negative results able to get out. Maybe the increase in infections there has changed the situation. I spent 2 weeks asq and got by as many have.. so much for fully vaccinated.
  20. Got a email from WU vertically saying get lost so emailed close account. Ria I see rates were ok but wise fees. All options, just a pity no standout. At least transfer delays have reduced
  21. Remitly regardless of rates and exchange, transfer within minutes. As they say convenience costs. WU will do same day if done early. If days is ok up to 3 days higher rates and lower fees. See add for deemoney will check.
