  1. What a load of hypabile whatever. It's an outdated social custom. It's barbaric and ask the millions who are not, if it's affected their health. Shame for religious reasons it happens as there are poorly executed circumcisions. Why most doctors stay clear of doing it.
  2. Keep the already undermanned authorities busy. Oh those Chinese!
  3. Good luck with space. Air Asia have moved some flights out of Suvarnabhumi. Delays landing and departing likely at both airports.
  4. It will depend on departures at peak times. I departed last Wednesday night delay was minimal, but there are more airlines using Suvarnabhumi. Not so many per carrier, but I saw air Asia flights. Meaning Don Muang must be busy with many local and international flights as well. May not be long before new terminal at Suvarnabhumi begins. I sat next to a guy on the bus from Pattaya who gave himself 3 hours till departure and probably missed his flight. Probably still not enough IO but they are allocating staff to 4 checkpoints. Jomtein to Suvarnabhumi is busy and had put a half hourly bus on when I left, and on arrival they were doing every 20 minutes. Good buses these days to previous when to air con stopped or ineffective 10 minutes into trip.
  5. Don't. Enjoy your own company, it's cheaper. Alcohol will only reduce your health and life span.
  6. As it's now low season, my suspicions are that with its success, if it was and certainly I appreciated it, using it twice, is that next high season it will happen, but as the saying goes post covid, who knows the future
  7. There's a mini van service near sukumvit, top of Pattaya Klang road charge similar but usually crowded.. Maybe mini vans going to Bangkok and jump on BTS to airport. If go mo chit then probably 1 bus trip to BTS and airport, but you'll end up similar cost. Think I'll stick with paying the extra.
  8. Best thing he could do for the country his give his money away or fund supporting the poor. Give them a chance. Set up an organisation to finish educating them to enter the workforce.
  9. With a month to go why hasn't the govt made a decision to extend 45 days visas past March
  10. A tragedy for this young man's parents and friends, pursuing his dream, but a head injury most likely caused by heading, a common aspect of english football. Sadly many with less a profile, suffer similar, and due to no reason being given, most doctors would argue the impact on the frontal area of the head, and associated damage, the most probable cause of Dom's death. Time will tell. Sport of any kind carries it's risks. RIP.
  11. Welcome to Thailand if you don't like it don't come...........isn't that the norm
  12. A fire consists of oxygen, fuel and heat. When considering fire protection you need to assess ignition sources as in powered appliances and power outlets and connections as well as likely combustible materials. A smoke detector assists where limited oxygen is present, such as a closed room. Well ventilated areas, sure smoke will occur, but fire blankets in the kitchen with areas considered a risk, such as storage of flammable liquids or proximity to living areas, even bedrooms, a water or similar if available alternative fire extinguishers, small or large, remembering they need regular servicing. Maybe yearly or replace. Nothing bar a water sprinkling system will fully protect, but every step is being prepared, than ignorance.
  13. Beach road from Pattaya nua to walking street and past Bali Hai is fine early and returning close to beach or path on beach avoiding pedestrian I've done many times, even returning along soi borkhai, either way. Safe riding wherever you go.
  14. There's also a mini van cost 200 baht from near top of Pattaya Klang opposite visa business, though may drop you at Suvarnabhumi airport bus station, there's a free bus from there, maybe 10 minutes journey to the airport. This mini van service also goes to Don Muang
  15. Learn the Thai language and be very familiar with their culture first.
  16. Reports Thais who died some were locked in rooms. Who operates these casinos? No doubt Chinese. Welcome to Thailand now.
  17. How often do you see thais struggling with loads often using one hand. Same mobile in one hand, riding with the other, or just riding one handed. No helmets almost the norm with few police check points ATM.
  18. If you leave Changi there's now a visa charge of around $60 dollars. It is possible to chill at airport and do a turnaround if you can get cheap flights. Scoot the best option as there's a transfer desk, C, I think it is will happily print boarding pass rather than reenter when your hit with the exit visa, not stamped passport in and out as before. You could do same with air Asia at KL and to the best of my knowledge, no visa fee. Train to KL and back plus AA do accommodation packages that reduce air fares, but musts stay a night or two. Or again wait for flight, and they had a transfer area to print next flight ticket. Don't have checked baggage unless leaving airports. That's brief
  19. Swapping Thai restaurants in India for Indian restaurants in Thailand. In Pattaya they already outnumber massage shops.
  20. I suggested 3 pm not so busy but drive by and check. I did notice and I did to collect forms first visit, I walked in the out door, as others did, and joined short queue inside. Worth a try!
  21. Wow. Update from being here. Cambodians still need to do border runs, though yearly now I believe, and I observed people at my soi hotel looking like that was happening and not the odd non Thai, which sparked my notice. I'll check today at previous places I've used, but remember after initial current 45 days, immigration for 1900 do another 30 and in one year can only do 3 border hops. I booked AA to Udon with overnight, or I took 3 nights as wasn't sure if needed overnight in Laos, but not needed. If you're flight arrives in Udon between about 10 am and 2 pm there's seems to be a cheap bus to Udon from airport, or team up with others and share taxi, if possible, or your up for 200 baht fare. I used a train for 11 baht, which leaves for Nong at 7 am. Get there beforehand and take a mask. You'll need a tok tok from train station to border, but it's a walkable distance, but check your GPS. Buses leave border for about 30 baht both ways. Near Thai border on return are minibuses to Udon, bear 7/11 on your immediate left, for maybe 200 baht. Then recover back in Udon until going to airport for return flight. Minibuses leave Pattaya for Don Muang for 180 baht, on the left of Pattaya Klang, after Foodland and 7/11 opposite a easy visa place.
  22. I presume it's to a domestic flight! Remember there are two immigration entrances. If the first has long queues walk another maybe 20 metres to second and check. Though I've not entered for a few weeks, and someone else posted delays, and simultaneous arrivals possible, they seem more prepared. Also the process is quicker, with passengers just needing flight ticket and passport. No check of where your staying etc, on previous entry form. Obviously they say 3 hours between flights but I'd allow 5 with collection of baggage taking time, which I had if your not booked through.
