I wrote this about last year, you can get a service bus from Pattaya to Bangkok Ekama bus station on Sukhumvit, or road or Morchit Northen bus terminal, then another service bus down to Aranyaprathet, then best way is a motorcycle taxi down to the border, then have lunch may be a late one, then do the return journey.
It might be longer in time than a minibus, but you should be able to do the whole journey for 1000-12000 baht, for service bus information call the call center 1490.
"It might be longer in time" is an understatement. Including the wait for the next buses at Pattaya North and Ekamai Stations, you've killed at least 6 hours already and possibly more, the total return trip time of the border run from Pattaya... and you're still only in BKK.

Yes, this has been the case for a long time. You used to be able to pay a 300 baht bribe to Cambodian officials for same-day re-entry but then there were reports last year of guys paying I recall 2,700 baht at the Thai side of the border for an agent to take their passport and do everything on the Cambodian side. It would be interesting to hear if there have been recent experiences of independent visa runs without paying for that "service".
I would definitely prefer roughing it with 5 other people who haven't taken a shower or had a bowel movement than messing around with that LOL. You know the price - the job gets done - no unforeseen drama.
BTW, if they force or entice you to pay extra for what should be free, it's not a bribe. A bribe suggests the traveler is corrupt, and that's not the case here.

You also have to factor in the cost of a Cambodian visa.
I've also heard that people trying to do it on their own can have trouble coming back to Thailand on the same day. The Cambodian border officials actively discourage them.

No it doesn't. It comes around once and once only.
I suppose we could say twice, if we count 2023 BC, but that's only retrospectively as they would had a different name for it back then.

Why do people want to be surrounded by millions of tourists?
It's better than sitting on a farm in Nakonsonowhere pretending to be content. Perhaps 1000s is ok. Millions might be a bit much LOL.
If there are lots of tourists and other expats around, the available services (rentals), food, and shopping are better. Also, it is not usually necessary to learn the local language. You don't become a focused target as you are when you're isolated from other foreigners. I've lived in tourist areas all my life and I like it. I have no complaints about Pattaya. I've also lived in places (in the Philippines) where there are very few other foreigners around, where I stand out from the rest - and I don't like that.
There you go, some reasons for you. Each to their own.

He need to be locked up for a long time. A person that lost a lot of money, and do not realize that if they throw another 100 000 away, that will worsen the situation. Darn! This man is dangerous to society.
Dangerous to society how? He's only dangerous to himself and has done his fair share of donating to make others happy. Hopefully, if he finally decides to jump, he'll make sure the ground is clear.

Should have called the police and asked them before paying out.
Calling the police would have been a total of time, especially on that night with the huge crowd. Beach Road fireworks are right at the police station. An invitation for the driver to attend at the station to sort it out would have been sufficient to send him scurrying on his way. A simple, "Sorry I don't have the cash to pay you as I don't carry that much cash" would have been quite helpful.

IMO one of the biggest missteps of this forum was to do away with the ThaiVisa mobile app. In these days where everyone is mobile it's an incredible step backwards. I used to use it a lot. I wouldn't even bother to access this forum from a browser on my phone.

Sadly, one would most probably be conscious.
Of course, he would be conscious. The fall took about 5 - 6 seconds. That's too quick to think about anything at all.
He fell from the 45th floor to the pool on the 6th floor, so assuming an average condo story height of about 3.65 m, he fell 39 floors or about 142 m.
According to the online "Splat calculator", using a body weight of 70kg at 142 m:
The Splat Calculator - A Free Fall Calculator
- Speed at impact:52.76 m/s
- or 189.92 km/h
- Time until impact: 5.38 s

Meth occurs naturally .... in my sisters friends husbands garage bathtub in Louisville Kentucky.
Kind of a sad fact is that most drug addicts will defend use of their substance of dependency to the end. Substance abuse is no joke and most people become dependent long before they even realize the dependency.
There are many wild animals that love getting drunk or high, and some become quite addicted, usually to their detriment.
Here's one video of a series of 3. The wild African elephants are really into alcohol.

I have the news in mind of about 200 Australian and other tourists bombed to death by Muslim extremists.
I have a friend who lost a leg in that bombing. He was in his 20s at the time.
I've been there 3 times, the last time in the late 90s, so my impression is a bit dated, but Bali doesn't hold a candle to Pattaya as a retirement option. It's a nice place for a vacation, but not permanent living unless you're into surfing.

I find it a mind numbing pointless and blunt drug. It clearly alters consciousness to the long term detriment of the user and has no long term benefits for those who have no legitimate medical justification for it's use. I used it for several years and my "high" digressed into paranoia. Just a trash blunt object drug. Might as well hit your head with a hammer
I suspect you have other problems and you're blaming it on your pot smoking. Correlation is not causation. People suffer all types of psychological conditions with or without pot.

Its great to have aseannow back so we can thrash out the big issues
Albeit at a much slower rate. The forum runs about 10x slower than before their outage. Often pages don't load at all, and I have a very fast internet connection. This will deter a lot of people.

I did not like it in the beginning but like it now.
It avoids a preferential circle jerk treatment abundant on other forums.
I agree it's much better this way, not knowing who left the reputation. People just use the sad or confused emojis because they got rid of the thumbs-down emojis, so there's no other option to express dislike or hate for a post.
In the latest update, they also stopped displaying reputation scores (you can still find them, but they are buried now), which is also a good move as it slows down trolls who are obsessed with such metrics for whom it became their main goal in posting.

I am not convinced that whey protein is safe, but I don't know enough about it to debate that point.
To claim that it is "superior" to all foods that contain protein .... yes, man in white lab coat thinks he can outsmart God.
Oh wait ... God doesn't exist.
Whey is a byproduct of cheese making. It's a natural part of milk and 20% of milk's total protein.
It is one of the most studied proteins and definitely a healthy addition to the diet. On a one-on-one comparison, no other protein comes close. It not only provides much-needed protein to people who are undernourished, but it actually has health benefits. It's good for you!
You could use a crash course on whey protein.

in my opinion, it's better to get protein from real foods than protein powders.
Whey protein is real food and superior to your regular meals as a protein source.
No one suggested we should use Whey protein as the sole source of protein, but there are many advantages to using Whey protein as a supplement. It is a much cleaner source of protein than eating meat and other animal products and it can have a substantial benefit in controlling body weight for overweight people who eat too much, which includes most expats that both eat too much and are sedentary.

I clicked on this story to find out if the aircraft crashed. I expected that an engine explosion as written in the title might destroy the wing and cause a crash, however, it was only an engine failure with some sparks flying.

How many of the 9 amino acids does normal peanut protein have, and how many does normal whey have?
Like Sheryl I start taking it around 2 years ago due to age (60+)
Here's an excellent lead-in to learning more about amino acid ranking of foods, with many references for further study.

Peanut protein.
It's not useless, but it doesn't have the full spectrum of essential amino acids required in sufficient quantity for the body to synthesize protein.
When you eat protein, the digestive system breaks it down into amino acids and uses them to produce body proteins. The body requires 9 amino acids from your food. Whey Protein is one of the best.
I see "pea protein" is a thing now and readily available.

Thanks a lot, this post was very useful. However, I am having some issues finding the WPC you mentioned on Lazada. I have sent you a DM. If you will have time please check it.
I just sent a reply - happy shopping. I don't think you'll find a better product or deal.

Just to be precise, the one you are using is WPI - Whey Protein Isolate. 90% protein. 30 grams serving x 90% = 27 g protein.

I have just found BAAM!! My Whey Protein which has unflavored option and it is for good price as well. Just not sure about the brand.
You need to find out what the source of the Whey Protein is. Who manufactured it (after the cows provided the milk LOL). Most brands won't give their source. The one I mentioned above was produced by ALS Labs in the USA. They have a Thailand subsidiary too. That makes it more reputable than any of the fancy name brands in pretty containers.
What has caused this pain for more than 20 years?

Tendon injuries can become chronic and permanent as the tendon degrades over time.
Chronic Tendon Injury
My guess is the OP has chronic tendinosis (explanation in the article I linked above) in the bicep tendon.
You can rule out rotator cuff injury with some simple tests. This one is quite comprehensive:
