The most recognised "whiner" across all topics in USA today is trump, combine with lies, misinformation and disinformation from him and members of Cabinet - a bunch of losers.
Didn't they win the election? Trump is the biggest winner ever and pulled off historic victories no one thought was possible. You guys complaining about him are the biggest losers. Nothing you say is worth reading. How can you sleep at night? It must be tough.

I didn't get a TM6 form to fill out last September when I arrived. I thought they had scraped it years ago.

That's rich.
According to you military service is a requirement of US citizenship. Totally ridiculous. On the other hand if it could get Musk deported wouldn't be all bad.
Musk's US companies employ roughly 125,000 people who might not be so happy about it.
He's also the biggest taxpayer in US history, and he has more right to help reduce government waste than any other person in the US.

It's not so dumb to Canadians.
"President" Trump has repeatedly and openly stated his intention to annex Canada as the 51st state and his opening tool for that is an extremely aggressive trade war.
Obviously the USA has much more military power than Canada if it came to that, but the same can be said of Russia vs. Ukraine and it's now three years later in an "SMO" that was supposed to take a few days.

Don't be ridiculous! The only reason Ukraine held out more than a few weeks is due to Europe, and mainly your countries' military aid.

I suspect this is going to be far worse than we currently imagine.
No imagination is required - I know how bad this is going to be - it's total destruction, and everyone except a few lucky people has perished in the rubble.

Not at all; the building disintegrated into a large pile of rubble. No one survived that, and a lot of anonymous people have lost their lives. RIP to all who passed today.

The conspiracy loons will be out tomorrow claiming it was a planned detonation.
Yes, I had one person claim that already. I asked if they were waiting for the earthquake to set off the charges.
They timed it well, considering this was the first destructive earthquake in the 2 centuries of Bangkok's history, and in the 200 years, just over 20 earthquakes.

It is rather inappropriate to give R.I.P statements before deaths have even been reported . You post announced that 40 people had died when they are still probably fighting for their lives
I'm expecting at least 90 victims in that building collapse. Don't take it personally, but that's how many are missing so far. You might have missed it, but the building disintegrated. It turned to dust.

Yes, a much more believable figure. The building turned to dust, so most people were crushed, although they wanted to keep people's hopes alive.
I suspect a large number of illegal, undocumented workers will be lost in that rubble, so the true figure might never be known.

All the cafes kicked everyone out and closed. Ditto shopping centres. These people are morons, anything still standing will stay standing. How about helping others . Everyone out on the streets helps how?
Powerful earthquakes can make many buildings unsafe even if they remain intact after the first tremor. Evacuation is essential until the buildings can be inspected. I'm pretty sure if you were on the 20th or 30th floor of a highrise, you'd be out on the street, too. There's also a risk of aftershocks, which can collapse buildings weakened from the initial quake. As of 25 minutes ago, there were reports of 169 buildings damaged.
RIP, crane operator.

Indeed, but that doesn't answer my question. The quality of my years so far have been fine. I'm just hoping I'll have a lot more of them despite living in a smog zone!
Indirectly, it does answer your question, but that depends on what life would have been like if you had stayed at home, breathing clean air instead of the polluted air you've been breathing in Thailand.
My life over the last 25 years would have been miserable back in my home country for many reasons. Being happy with pollution was probably healthier for me as the mental state is more important for health. Even if it doesn't mean more years ultimately, it's better years.

If 5,000 is standard for a S T, I can't see it lasting as that is a ridiculous amount of money for a S T.
Are millionaires trawling Pattaya bars these days?
If it's that expensive, an escort at home would be cheaper if allowing for the airfare and hotels etc.
I have no idea what your escorts cost back at home (NZ?). I don't P4P in Pattaya myself, but I've been out on the town with many friends visiting who were not on tight budgets.
Of course, the prices vary greatly, but you must pay the fine and then negotiate with the girl. I'm talking about taking the girl out, not in an ST room. Factor in rounds of drinks, and 5000 won't get you much. The point was that if you want a big night out in Pattaya, with lots of barhopping, 15,000 wouldn't be enough. (this was in response to one member freaking out because the Canadian had 15,000 of cash on his person when he was robbed).
Of course, locals can "survive" on much less than that LOL. It's a reason why dating apps are so popular these days, and then there's always the "coconut bar" option for punters on a low budget.

Why have 15k on you? Crazy
You're probably not up to date. A takeaway for a short time can cost a tourist 5000 and up these days if he's looking for topshelf. More than 10 years ago, a couple of Aussie friends clocked up a 10k bill in a gogo in an hour. It doesn't go far if you're out to have fun. You can budget, sure, but 15k is not as much as you seem to think for a big night out.

I don't have a choice. So after living here for 20+ years, how much has my life expectancy been reduced from what it would have been if I'd stayed in the UK?
Does it matter how many years you've lived? It's the quality of the years that count rather than quantity..

The point is not to get sick though. Alot easier to be healthy with crisp air
It's easier to be happy with a bit of pollution in Thailand than miserable and bored in the fresh air back at home. Depression will kill much faster than air pollution. One must also consider the quality of life.
Having said that, I've lived in Pattaya for 20 years and suffered no ill effects from this foul air everyone is telling me I should not breathe or I'm gonna die. I have no nasal or bronchial irritation whatsoever.
Of course, if the pollution is making you sick, go back home and breathe crisp air until you expire in a retirement home.

Thanks for your input. Enjoy breathing that fresh canadian air
I'll take bad air in Pattaya over your clean, cold Canadian air any day.
If so many people weren't whinging about it on this forum, I'd hardly notice the air because I'm enjoying living in Thailand too much to care. You only live once.
I'm not filing tax returns, but thanks for your concern. Enjoy Canada.

Not even close. They're probably not even in the top 10 of foreign nationals.
This article is nonsense and nothing more than a journalist's effort to find something to write about.

What is "appropriate medication" to ensure performance? You said to take the "blue pill." One of the reasons I don't take the "blue pill" is that I don't like the side effects. I didn't know that one possible side effect is the interference of essential reading and comprehension skills. LOL

You are calling people morons, not very nice. You fail to see that the rest of the world spits on Trump or his MAGA nonsense. A significant portion of the US national debt is in foreign hands, and an estimated 20% of all US securities are in foreign control, making the US a mere proxy nation. Talk about moronic.
Yes, that's what I'm calling them, but it's not personal, any more than what Trump haters called his supporters. You're parroting the usual garbage we hear from the left every day.

Why are Trump supporters so unwilling to criticize even some of his policies?

Trump won because the Democrats were all of the above. They lost the unlosable election twice, if not three times. That's the height of stupidity. You couldn't be much dumber than that...
