Then maybe you should read the entire post because that's exactly what I'm saying.  However, it is not always as simple as you think it is.

Its quite clear from the posts I've seen on here that some people have problems getting their landlord to register TM30 and didn't know they are most likely able to register themselves.  Furthermore, members have reported that their immigration office would not accept them registering themselves.

Therefore, armed with the Thai version of the official document, they should be able to demonstrate to their local immigration office that they can indeed, register themselves.

it is as simple as i posted as i registered as the house owner of the house i rent<
took all of 5 minutes 🙂

    side note
One does NOT go into immigration with printed docs and tell them they are wrong!!!

A video circulating on social media showing a foreign couple neglecting a motorcyclist they hit with their luxurious car in Phuket, Thailand, has led to public outrage. The incident occurred on April 25, when the couple, driving a white Mercedes Benz, made a right turn without signaling, causing a collision with an oncoming motorcyclist.

The impact threw the motorcyclist across the car, and he later fell on the road. Thankfully, he was wearing a helmet, which likely saved him from a serious head injury. Instead of checking on him, the foreign couple focused on inspecting their car's damage, seemingly disregarding the injured individual.

The vicinity of the accident is believed to be around a Vivi Hotel in the Rawai district of Phuket, according to a Thai social media user. The couple are suspected to have been hotel guests there.

The video generated significant responses from Thai social media users after being posted, which resulted in over 3,900 reactions and 500 comments. Many users expressed their resentment towards the couple's behavior.

The news coverage does not provide further updates about whether the couple helped the injured motorcycle rider or if they are facing charges for their actions.

  3. as far a mushrooms goes , its the quality of them an the quantity you ingest>

seeing how many weed shops sell eatables with NO quality control ( THC%) i would expect the same will be handled by those selling mushrooms>

I would never buy a gummies or brownies here, NOR would i buy mushrooms unless from an official shop that shows where its from and % of Psilocybin in them

Psilocybin is the main psychoactive ingredient in hallucinogenic mushrooms, also called "magic mushrooms" or "shrooms." There are over 100 species of mushrooms that contain psilocybin.

Although people have been consuming magic mushrooms for thousands of years, the compound wasn't isolated until 1957 and it was produced synthetically a year later. Since 1970, psilocybin and psilocin (a closely related compound) have been listed by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Association (DEA) as Schedule I substances — the federal government's most restrictive category.

Despite these restrictions, recent clinical trials have found psilocybin to be a promising therapy for treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. Because of this, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has designated psilocybin as a "breakthrough therapy"— an action meant to accelerate the drug development and review process.

In February 2023, Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration announced that psychiatrists would be able to prescribe psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression. However, the drug will only be allowed to be used in a very limited way and remains otherwise prohibited in the country.

Does this possibly mean a relaxing of the rules for hospitals using morphine, codeine or Oxycodone as pain relievers? It's my understanding they were very hesitant to use them even in the most legit cases.

the 2 times i have been to the hospital in the past 10 year ( once broken collar bone, once kidney stone)
had a shot of Morphine within 5 minutes of walking thru the door
    hesitant?? hardly

  5. " I spend 15K for food and 10K for weed"

the 2 of us average 12-14,000 baht/month for groceries'  and eating out in Phuket
You must be buying the overpriced grams at 500 baht/gram
I buy 50 grms online for 490 baht,  figure its around 12-14% thc , which is fine for me for a few months, dont need 20+% thc

Another BS vid, and stopped watching when said you can live in TH on ฿35k a month, but visa requirement is ฿65k a month.

Along with low cost of living, if you never use the AC, and live on ฿50-75 street food.  Wouldn't call that living.   As lunch today cost mw ฿300, and I'd call that a lite lunch.

If you want to live out of 1 room, eat street food and sweat your butt off, yea, retire here cheap, but you'll need to plop ฿800k in the bank, or ฿65k a month income.  The latter (65k) would provide a decent living, and quite comfy enough, location dependent.

    ur so off:
I live in Phuket, 2 bedroom house with 2 aircons.  1 kms to beach
2 of us ( wife works)
sledom do we spend more than 35,000 baht/month, ( rent is only 10,000 baht)
dont drink and eat out maybe 2 meals a week ( eat much better at home)

    we live very well  🙂

    Thailand comes out cheaper!!!

A new passport might have the same old number, depending on when it was issued. My last 3 all had the same number, but this year the passport design changed and so did my number. Subsequently I presume I will keep the same number with each replacement, should I live so long.

    what country?
US passports are ALL new numbers when new passport issued
regardless they can see ur travel history

i asked at about 10 different pharmacies in thailand from big to mom and pop til i found one that sold Diazepam with no prescriptons but they were more like 50 baht each.

i have brought from 2 dif Pharmacies in Phuket, ( they were NOT fake)  never paid more than 10 baht
many times then wont sell to tourists
    BUT
stopped since i can buy a box of 40 in Cambodian, for under $4

For diazepam just needs to be in labelled prescription bottle. But the limit is 30 day supply.

For para/codeine, due to the codeine, you need a narcotic import permit from the FDA . Not as hard to get as it may sound. https://permitfortraveler.fda.moph.go.th/nct_permit_main/

The quantity  limit is for this is  90 day supply.

While both drugs are available in Thailand, only from a hospital as both diazepam and codeine are controlled drugs here. Doctors can be reluctant to prescribe, esp the codeine.

I suggest you bring with you a doctor's letter stating these have been prescribed and why.

every pharmacy has Diazepam ( Valium) 2, 5, 10 mgs
1 10 mgs cost an average of 10 baht

BANGKOK – In a move likely to raise eyebrows within the expat community, Thailand's Ministry of Health has unveiled a new initiative to combat communicable diseases: reinstating mask mandates for foreigners in major tourist areas.

Citing concerns about the potential for foreign visitors to introduce new illnesses, officials emphasize this isn't about pinpointing blame, but rather a proactive, preventative measure.

"Thailand prides itself on its warm hospitality," declared a Ministry spokesperson. "However, with global travel increasing, it's imperative to safeguard public health. This targeted approach ensures that our international guests don't unwittingly compromise the well-being of our citizens."

The regulation will apply to popular destinations like Phuket, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai. Locals, with their presumed stronger resistance to regional ailments, will be exempt.

Enforcement details are still under development. However, officials suggest a potential collaboration between health inspectors and immigration officers, possibly leading to on-the-spot mask checks and educational pamphlets for new arrivals.

    Expat Community Expresses Concerns

The announcement has sparked a range of reactions within the expat community. Some express understanding, citing Thailand's history of vigilance during past outbreaks. Others voice concerns about potential discrimination and the slippery slope of increasingly targeted regulations.

"While I appreciate the desire to protect public health," commented one long-term Bangkok resident, "singling out foreigners seems like an oversimplification. Viruses don't check passports."

    Tourism Industry Anticipates Challenges

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has issued a statement acknowledging the Ministry of Health's concerns while emphasizing the importance of maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors. Industry figures are privately worried about negative publicity and potential confusion among travelers.

Whether this new regulation will have a significant impact on public health or tourism numbers remains to be seen. What is certain is that Thailand, known for its sometimes labyrinthine bureaucracy, has once again sparked a lively debate on the balance between precaution and inclusivity.
