the way around it which u left out IF you use an agent for 1, 2, 5 years of extensions and than decide ( for whatever reason) (you have inherited the 800,000 an want do it on ur own Leave the country without a re entry permit..... ur extension is killed off Get a NEW non o visa in Laos, Cambodia, USA, UK ...anywhere showing ur 800,000 in the bank Come back, open an account in Thailand ( if you dont have already have one) Put ur 800000, in it an apply for ur 1 year extension after 2 months hope this helps

James, immigration is free to transfer> ( in 10 years send me a pm and i'll send u an agent in phuket) when i got a new passport ( nov, 23) i waited till my extension was due, ( march, 24) and my agent charged me 500 baht to do the transfer good luck using passport for hotels did a road trip down south out of phuket, out of 6 nights at hotels not one accepted the driving license PLUS when i came back had to file a new tm 30 late as had to go to immigration for a cor and they told me i was registered in Betong for the past 2 months 55555 the io volunteer told me no problem, just give him the landlords copies and he will "help " file out the notary for a new tm 30

what passport do u hold? 10,000 baht to an agent to do ur passport ( USD passport is $130- 4,400 baht) and took over 6 weeks when i did it in 2023 3,000 to get stamps moved to new passport when that is FREE in Phuket they saw you coming law is u must carry passport, BUT 99.9% of the time will accept a digital copy and even if they do request it, you have 24 hours to produce it I have tried showing my thai license to check into hotel it has Never been accepted and they always ask for passport Thats over the past 40 years i guess some of u are lucky

just use any agent they file a new tm 30 in the province the extension will be issued, once your passport is back, file a new tm 30 for where u do live so you do 90 day reports there O( or online) or allow agent to file for you BUT if u need a cor to get a new dl or buy a car/bike u want ur tm 30 to match where u live you are NOT tied to one agent

Nope only those in Pattaya ( I know nothing about Chiang Mai immigration) i see many ads now on my fb feed offering extension with no visits needed to immigration and of course for TVC its not required. none of the agents in Phuket require you to visit immigration if they are putting up the $$

seems nobody has mentioned that not just anyone can get a pink id card or a yellow book. You need show ownership of ur condo / house to get the yellow book Even when i owned a house here for 12 years, never bothered with trying to get one so no reason to how often do i need a cor? once every 6 years to get my thai license, once every blue moon when i buy a car or bike otherwise my thai license an passport are just fine for the past 40 years

all one needs do is file a NEW TM 30 for wherever you are living> regardless where ur extension was obtained its not rocket science

My friends wife was using a lawyer to get her extension here in Phuket, charged her 50,000 (no money in bank) i gave her an agent i know in phuket that charges 22,000 ( she didn't want send her passport to TVC) When she went in, the agent looked at his files and found her name as having done her extension the year before so the lawyer was pocketing 28,000 baht and doing NOTHING but running the passport over to the agent Anyone wonder why most people hate lawyers?

I had my new passport issued in Thailand, sent it to my agent to have the new extension done at the same time as moving stuff ( like previous Passport #, extension and where/when my 1st entry was) to new passport. Once it was done, filed a new tm 30 for here in phuket, That was in 2023, only thing i had to do was my 1st 90 day report done at the drive thru in Phuket before i could go back to filing online i've been using agents for years and have not had any problems legitimacy? ALL visas/extensions are issued at the discretion of the IO Travel abroad/ new extensions?? never would i call someone stupid for parking 800,000 in a low bearing interest account its ur choice For me, its my money and i dont want my daughter, who lives in the states, to have a HUGE hassle and a large expense, getting MY money from MY bank account when i die

HOW will she get it? Unless ur married, the baht in the bank will be held up for months as she needs go thru courts, even if you have a will, if not forever

true and when u die, what happens to the 800,000 in the bank? Do it urself 1,900 baht----- 800,000 in the bank earning less than .75% use an agent 16,000 ----- 800,000 earning min 4% in a bank ( 32,000 baht++) when u die ur money goes where ever you want it to ur call

they change, just used them for my extension 2 weeks ago they will do the 90 day at that immigration but i always just file a new tm 30 here in Phuket 1st class service
