800,000 OR "equivalent" needs be in a bank to get a Non O visa, in the states, Laos or even Cambodia
than transfer it to a Thai bank to get ur 1 year extension at least 2 months before you apply
800,000 needs be in ur thai account 2 months on day you apply for extension.
Once u have a NON O , get a certificate of residence from immigration and shop around till you find a bank that will open an account for you, -

Not sure about if staying in Thailand and travelling internally. But if you do leave, each and every time you come back to Thailand and stay at the same address even on the same visa, you must do a TM30 at Jomtien Immigration. Don't listen to some dude in Phuket, you are not dealing with Phuket immigration.
BUT why not? traveling internal as well if you stay at a hotel and they do a tm 30 ( which thye are required to do)
Phuket is the same 55555 -
actually the visa is $30>>>> :-)

NOT true everywhere> IE in phuket, when ever you travel to and stay at a hotel that registers you or u leave thailand you need do a tm 30>

Yeah, in more than a decade of riding here and just passing ignoring waving policemen, just once one actually followed me and gave me a chase. :D He demanded my drivers license and that I should follow him back to the checkpoint to talk to his supervisor. I requested my permit back, told him that I would follow him back on my bike. As soon as he did the u-turn I sped away. No chance for him to turn around and chase me ;()

no idea why a link about mae sot was posted regarding a question about Kawthaung?
You clear thai immigration , pay for ur boat seat ( 200-300 baht)
$10 ( make sure no rips, tears) for the Burmese stamp in and out
30 minute boat ride each way
OR you can stay up to 14 days in Kawthaung ( its interesting for a day or 2, especially if u hire a boat for the day and go exploring)
Enjoy>>- 1

Register online and then complete the TM47 once, it automatically refills on each new application. Send by email and within 24 hours on working days expect an acknowledgment and a response. Print off the receipt.. it has now worked well for over a year. No postage or trips to the Immigration office.
I get an email reminder 15 days ahead of my renewal date. But I realised this means I am renewing after 75 days rather than 90 days.
for reason of using an agent an living in Phuket , one can not do the 90 day report online
lets see what happens having sent mine to bangkokchrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://ohrm.au.edu/images/NEWS/Announcement/AY2020/90-day-online/90daysOnline_Manual.pdf

Dumb question.
Your profile says you live in Phuket?
Shouldn't the letter go to your local office?
It's some years that I did by postal mail and always to my office.

just for thinking about
IF you use the 800,000 in the bank and ur single
Make 100% sure you have an iron tight will registered and in someone's hands you trust, ( or a lawyer) where the 800,000 goes when you die
otherwise ur just giving it to the bank
a good reason to use an agent, even if you have the $$$ :-)- 1

American visa required. Can someone please advise me on the current process. I am British, living in Thailand for 17 years, but I am taking my grandchildren to DisneyWorld in Orlando in March. I have been to the US but many years ago so obviously I need to apply for a tourist visa (I will only be there for 3 weeks). I would really be grateful if someone would outline the process for me please, either here of DM to <email removed per forum rules>, thanking you in advance...
PLEASE start ur own thread:

The problem could be getting the job done by an agent, say in Pattaya, if you are actually living in a different city, say Chiang Rai. You have a stamp from Pattaya Immigration Office in your passport but you're not living there.
Am I wrong?
How would you deal with it?
Let's say the agent in Pattaya makes your 90 day reports with a fake address, you'd then be a Pattaya resident.
But you're also registered in Chiang Rai, the place you're actually living in.
What if one day you need a residence certificate?
These are the reasons why I'd advise against getting the job done by an agent at an Immigration Office that is not in the city you're living in. Correct me if am wrong.
Cheers
You file a new tm 30 ( easy now with the new tm 30 online site) AFTER ur extension is issued to where u actually live,
IF you want to...
if there wasn't some high ups involved, dont ya think they would just shut it all down?
