What they say and what they do are two different things poof will be in the pudding come July lets see!
Until now we can't even officially register to get a vaccine and even if we could it doesn't mean you will get a jab.
Next they will blame us for not registering on time.-

Well that's still as clear as mud!!
Does this mean high risk Foreigners will get vaccinated at the same time as high risk Thai's or After?
QuoteThai government’s first priority is to vaccinate all frontline medical personnel, the elderly, those with underlying health conditions and those living within high risk zones.

Doesn't surprise me at all the Health minister or even this government would discriminate against foreigners!!
What they shouldn't forget is that that Thailand m,ade an agreement with Astrazeneca
https://ddc.moph.go.th/brc/news.php?news=17595&deptcode=brc&news_views=3559Quote2. To make COVID-19 vaccines available for people residing in Thailand on a foundation of ethics, equality, academic-based evidences, accessible supply, and management capability in national context, Thailand has been working under the Communicable Disease Act B.E. 2558 (A.D. 2015). On January 14, 2021, the National Communicable Diseases Committee (NCDC) has formed a sub-committee and tasked it with overseeing the rollout of COVID-19 vaccinations. Chaired by Public Health Vice Minister Dr. Sophon Mekthon, the sub-committee comprises all Thailand’s vaccine frontliners and aims at mitigating severe illness and death, stabilizing healthcare system, reducing virus transmission risk, and sustaining economic and social stability. All operations are under the consideration of Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) and with the cabinet’s approval of budget for vaccines to be available for the people across Thailand. The nation-wide vaccination program is scheduled to be completed in 2021.
Maybe there are a few words in that which they probably don't understand interpret differently such as Ethics and Equality?
If this proves to be true we should lobby Astrazeneca in Thailand.

What it says at the top THIS article @DirtyHarry55, the one you're reading right now is:
Expats in Thailand report successfully registering to receive COVID-19 vaccine
Need we go on?
Oh I see my apologies I thought you meant the Title of the link you provided.
In any case one of those Expat's used his Thai ID which most of us don't have.
Lets see how this folds out seems there's a lot of confusion with information the usual bad planning.
I'm hoping Thailand will do the right thing without discrimination considering they were given the Astrazeneca vaccine out of good will on a not profit basis.
So I think that good will should be extended to all equally. -

It does in this article. You MUST have read the headline at the very least!
Yes the Headline is:
As vaccination booking opens in Thailand, who can get jabs and how?and doesn't mention foreigners...did I miss something else?

My wife tried to register me yesterday by speaking to my hospital consultant's nurse. I am in the vulnerable category being 73 and having 3 of the conditions on the government list. The nurse said not to worry, and to wait, as they have no supplies of AZ vaccine yet and very little Sinovac, which she described as "useless" and inappropriate for me anyway. She also said that my consultant would notify me when they had appropriate vaccine available.
What she said doesn't make 100% sense because it's registration for Vaccination in July when the Atrazeneca should be availabe.
Maybe she just didn't want to tell you don't qualify.

Members of prioritised groups will be vaccinatedbetween June 7 and July 31. By then, Siam Bioscience Co Ltd will be producing millions of AstraZeneca vaccine doses in Thailand, says the government. The firm should be able to provide 6 million doses in June and 10 million in July, according to officials.-

This is total B.S.!
We don't have even one successful report of even one expat registering manually at any hospital in Pattaya with passport only.
Just because you and of course others have found success does NOT mean that great numbers of expats are not facing total roadblocks.
Yep and just because you were able to register don't mean your first in line either.

I knew it wouldn't be too long before I read a post like this. Well here's the good news, no one has been 'blocked by design' at all. Those who took the trouble to read the whole article that was posted yesterday (Saturday) would have read this:
''What priority groups must do:
To get free a COVID-19 dose, they can register for vaccination from May 1 by contacting their hospital or village health volunteer. However, the government is encouraging people to register and make a vaccination appointment via LINE for greater convenience''.
So you don't HAVE to have a pink card at all. I have already been registered at our local clinic.
Doesn't mention Foreigners in that article can Foreigners register?
It does say this though.QuoteWho gets vaccination priority?
Thais aged over 60 – 11.7 million people in total – will be fast-tracked for jabs. They will be joined by another 4.3 million people whose underlying illnesses make them more vulnerable to COVID-19. Prioritised are people with chronic respiratory diseases, heart/blood vessel conditions, chronic kidney failure, stroke, obesity, cancer and diabetes.

QuoteAfter the delivery mission, the plane will bring back three officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi, plus one other person believed to have been exposed to the infection, all of whom require treatment in Thailand.
The real reason for the trip? Can't they do anything without self gain?
Even the oxygen generators were provided by the Indian Embassy.Quotealong with medications and herbal products to help take care of Thai nationals in India
Unbelievable and they make it sound like the sole mission was to provide help to India.

Such as lobbying the Thai authorities to provide the app in English, allow passport numbers, and officially make it clear that high risk foreigners can be in the earlier group?
Yes we should definitely all lobby our Embassies and they should negotiate with the Thai Government to make sure we are given equal right to a vaccine paid or otherwise.
I'm betting all Embassy staff in Thailand got vaccinated lol.-

Typical didn't they just announce ALL Foreigners will get the vaccine?
Of course they just didn't say when will it be after all Thai's get it first? I seriously hope not!
Anyways lets hope it's just another misunderstanding and ALL Foreigners will be able to register soon.
If that's not the case probably a stiff letter of complaint to Astrazeneca and the British Foreign Office may be in order.

Why weren't heir heads shaved after being convicted?
-
Absolutely to be expected prior to the Trials of over 50 current protest leaders and minors.
Don't think these extremists will mind spending a few nights in Jail for their cause and even if they are convicted they know they will be released soon after.
Is there any explanation to exactly why were found guilty? Is it because they were demanding a Military Coup?
If so what about the Coup Makers?? lol

Anutin claimed that the AstraZeneca vaccine would have arrived earlier, even last month, but the firm had been concerned by what he called a "drama" at the end of last year and "didn't dare" send it.
Typical passing the buck lol.

Bet they knew the PM would be getting the AstraZeneca vaccine when they announced the PM would be first to get the Sinovac vaccine.
Or is it just look they happen to arrive at the same time and they know nothing?

unlike the other vax, sinovac is not for seniors.
it was tested on a controlled group up to 59 years old, so approved only to that age limit.
Possibly it can be given for healthy seniors, but than not much point of vaccinating them - it's the unhealthy which need it most.
Anyway, those 200k is not enough even for medical personel, and it has to be boosted in 2 weeks.
But I bet, that the ministry of health will grab some for themselves and the government officials.
I do also think that they have already ordered some other vax through embassies, diplomatic and the other channels. Possibly in december, when vax programs started to be rolled out. It's just matter of price, and they have all money.
Now, they well might be promoting sinovac, because they are uncertain when really astrazeneca will be available. Those 150k emergency order in nowhere and is not know, if local production has started already. There are contradictory statements. And worrying is, they won't allow journalist to visit siam bioscience factory to confirm to the public.
Yes probably so they can claim they started vaccinations in February why else order so few of it?
-
7 minutes ago, Moonlover said:
Astra Zeneca reviewed a number of potential candidates for local production before settling on Siam Bioscience. I think it was something like 5. None of the companies, to my knowledge, had produced vaccines before, so whomever AZ chose, it was going to be a 'cold startup'.
So you ask 'Given the absolute urgency, you think they were the best choice?'
My answer to that is that AZ is a major international player in the pharmaceutical industry, who know a heck of a lot more about producing vaccines than any of us do. I'd rather put my faith in their judgement than anyone on this forum.
Surely, when it come to producing vaccines, the most important aspect is to get it right.
So do you know who the other potential candidates were and perhaps a link?

Yes but other World leaders have done so in order to encourage their people to also take the vaccine.
With only 200k doses that's hardly going to be the case in Thailand until they have enough but when will that be.
This is more a pr stunt to claim they have started to vaccinate the population which they haven't really and probably VIP's MP's and Civil servants will get it before the elderly.

So why did it take so long to make this statement and why
don't they allow any reporters in to report on progress what's with all the secrecy?
Which other companies did Thailand propose to AstraZeneca please be transparent with the detailsthere's many with better experience in this field.

Maybe they're taking their time because they need the Virus to last as long as possible as to wield the power of Emergency Decree?
QuoteBANGKOK — A volunteer health worker who was beaten and detained by riot police on Saturday during clashes with anti-government protesters was charged with breaching the coronavirus emergency rule, his organization said Monday.

Adisorn also said that several land and local administration officials were allegedly involved in the illegal issuance of the Nor Sor 3 Kor land ownership documents.
If government officials issued the fake documents surely the government would be accountable and he could sue them??

Must be a lot of info missing in the report.
The Forrest Department allocated lots of land over the past 50 years for farming my wives family also owns such land.
Such land can't be legally sold only inherited or used for anything else but personal living and farming.
The big question is how did his family acquire the land?
Where my wives family's land is officials have been illegally allowing the sale of land and even transferring it.
Some have even used to build but the consensus is if acquired and used for nothing else but farming there will be no problems.
The other MP who was accused built a chicken farm which wasn't allowed but was let off and by the way their land is directly next to each others.
Will they be going after everyone who acquired such land as there must be a lot I most of it has change ownership over the past 30 years ?
Will Land Department officials also be implicated and punished? If illegal why only a Civil suit and not Criminal?

From winner to loser: Thailand’s downhill battle with COVID
in Thailand News
Posted
Think they were very very lucky last year with so few cases, the first strains weren't strong enough for Thailand's hot climate
Now the new strains are much more resilient than before let's hope Thailand doesn't turn into a second India.
When entering a shopping mall's everyone used the same old pen to sign in most don 't wash their hands after either,
and how many use the same old mask day in day out and does checking everyone's temperature really do any good?
Oh and someone please tell them face shields aren't a replacement for masks.
