Not as stupid as you think, these guys have the cables, mounting brackets and tools and are normally pretty resourceful. Give it a go.

Sounds more like a job for a motorcycle shop, why not ask.. they may even fit an engine.

The closest one.

I must say the neighbor's still sounds very plausible, seeing the wreckage, doesn't exactly look like space grade materials and welding. Love the picture though, reminds me of KSP.

Not bad, just a bit on the outskirts (eastern end) of Bangkok, so cheaper.
It used to be the end of the Skytrain line, but nowadays that one is extended quite a bit, so you could say On Nut gets more and more into the center :)

here's a couple more for the non-believers:

Deconstruction of one for the techies, points out dangers nicely:

I'd also expect him holding the phone as the main conductive path, but maybe there were scorch marks. Anyway being electrocuted by a faulty charger is not a rare occasion and the bare concrete structures here make it a lot easier than back home with insulated everything including rubber lined carpets and wallpaper, while wearing shoes inside.

Actually this is as good a place as any to urge everyone to install a RCB / Safety Cut device ASAP. They will protect you from these accidents (faulty chargers, water heaters, showers, water pumps) by shutting everything off before it kills you. On high sensitivity you won't even feel it, just suddenly sit in the dark holding a bad wire.
-
Doesn't matter if things fry (which they will do quickly) as long as there is still a current path through your body, which is quite likely (no ground wires, bare feet and concrete). A handful of milliamps at 240V will quickly kill you. Holding anything metal on your phone with a faulty charger will send enough current through you to ground to kill, but not enough to melt the cable.
-
Circuit breaker won't save you. Would need an RCB to give you a chance. Circuit breakers / fuses are to protect the wires, not people.
Cause indeed cheap Chinese chargers, with insufficient separation between high voltage and low voltage paths. An ant crawls in and ZAP

With mass shootings in the US now averaging over one a day, it shouldn't even be news anymore, just publish monthly statistics.

Between the noobs who think common KYC procedures are identity theft, to the people who are worried about spam on their email..... you guys really have no business being in crypto. I recommend sticking to ETFs and mutual funds recommended by your broker or to your football betting. Crypto is not user nor mistake friendly.
Yes crypto is only for non-noobs, gladly giving up their address, photo id, signature plus a clear indication of their wealth to a random third party website.
Have fun with your scam coins.
Also great attitude to get people to use it, I'd stay miles away with your 'for the elite haxx0r only' stance.

For a reasonable estimate you could use 'measure distance' on google maps. (right click on map / measure distance / click around to make your route)
A very rough round trip gives me about 5,200 KM

Reasonable explanation, with a few small issues:
- The fast blocks in BCH didn't do anything for the processing fees, because of the standard block size in BCH being 8x larger, and any transaction (even with 0 fees) clears at the next block
- The only 'advantage' was that transactions took less than the usual 10 minutes to be confirmed.
- The huge backlog in BTC transactions are a combination of factors:
-- Because BCH was more profitable to mine for the reasons stated, of course miners switched to BCH chain en masse, leaving BTC with slow blocks, long confirmation times
-- The discontinuation of segwit2x (which would have given more capacity in every BTC block mined) has led to a 'run to the bank' for people that actually try to use BTC for anything (BCH has a better use case for actually moving coins around)

At 1mm resolution it's approaching infinite..

A few things about this unfortunate incident are raising alarm bells
1. She was notified of the death by a hotel staff. Usually this is done by the embassy due to the sensitivity of the situation
2. Uncommon for an elderly man to be traveling without insurance
3. All 6 of his children cannot pull any money together and they're asking the public for 10k

Anyone spotted the German in this thread already?

Well seeing that about everything bitcoin related is either a scam or a scheme, not surprisingly so.
If you disagree, I have a couple nice ICOs to sell you.

Original plan was:
1,000,000
http://www.thailawforum.com/thai-deposit-insurance-law.html
However this was amended later, so now you keep the 4,000,000 THB (up to 15M)
http://www.thaiwebsites.com/deposits-insurance.asp
Soon enough it'll be 1M again though:
However, the original proposals got amended a few years later. We will forego these changes, but below are the latest data as decided by the Thai goverment in April 2016 :
Up to 10 August 2016 deposits were protected up to 25 million baht.
Thereafter, protection will be in place for 15 million baht in deposits between Aug 11, 2016 and Aug 10, 2018; for 10 million between Aug 11, 2018 and Aug 10, 2019; for 5 million between Aug 11, 2019 and Aug 10, 2020; and for 1 million by Aug 11, 2020. -
