  1. 26-32 or so, fresh out of their Masters studies and really just entering the real world for the first time as an adult.
  2. This would be a disaster. As much as I would like to have a land/house in my name, I can see beyond that benefit and realize it would entail millions of Chinese flooding the country to hide their money from the CCP. Thailand would not be the same after that, it would change incredibly quickly, even more than it has already.
  3. 855 visitors all year... that's like 4 planes worth of people. What a failure.
  4. This feels like one of those "I know a guy" or "I have a friend" posts ???? Either way, glad some good info was posted here, good luck!
  5. Knowing what you know now, would you have pulled the plug earlier in your life around 50 - once you qualified for a retirement visa?
  6. It's all closed right now. The only thing selling is look chin meatballs on a stick with sauce due to the LaLisa blackpink fanatics.
  7. They clearly haven't been to Koh Samui in a couple years... it is a shadow of its former self at the moment.
  8. There is always a newer and shinier model on the horizon.
  9. Rent, just get it out of your system until it too becomes boring.
  10. Recovered/Discharged (Globally): (98%). These people at the party are stupid for ignoring the current rules no doubt, but come on, possibly overly dramatic?
  11. I would hope that you would respect and honor the fact that she has already proclaimed her love for another. As the fantasy in your mind is blissfully intoxicating, keep in mind that it is a one-sided affair, and that she has not demonstrated any hidden desire to love you back. It is common knowledge that Gik's exist in Thai culture to fuel the passion and carnal desires between two consenting adults, but love from afar I'm afraid is not anymore accepted in Thai culture, just as it is not acceptable in the West.
  12. Most expats looking to Thailand for a better retirement are operating off of far less than 2 to 5 MILLION dollars. If you converted that figure to THB you might be more on track with the reality of the situation. If you have money, everything that Thailand offers can be found better elsewhere.
  13. Was this article written 10 years ago? If yes, then maybe.
  14. I read the word 'Scheme' and I click off the article, more rubbish from the incompetents.
  15. One of the hidden gems of Bangkok if you're a fan of the riverside area.
  16. Well, hate to tell you this, but if you ever want to eat in a restaurant, visit a shopping mall or cinema, or board an airplane to travel within the country - you're going to be forced into a vaccine dose or three.
  17. Getting tired of reading the news. This is going to be the only thing anyone talks about for the next 3 years isn't it...
  18. Of course, the further you go out from convenience the cheaper it gets, this is true anywhere in the world. Location, location, location. If you want to be in the center of it all and a quick BTS/MRT ride away, Asoke can't be beat. Check the older condos in the area that have been renovated for bigger rooms at a lower price. Any relatively new condo in Thailand (such as Ashton) is usually less than 30 sqm and not ideal for long-stay. Just don't do it. 50 sqm+ 1 BR minimum.
