Journeyed to Savannakhet Laos the day before my permission to stay expired, via minivan. Got stamped out of Thailand with the officer warning I was out of visa and should hit up the consulate. Got a Lao visa on arrival, $40USD, paid in baht the equivalent - seemed to be correct amount based on current exchange rate. Then hit up the farmer's market for a few items, drove around, etc. Stamped out of Laos no issues. On the Thai side of the river was asked if I had a visa, said no, was sent to the other side of the road, was handed a TM6 to fill out (!!). Then back to the main booth, handed in passport + TM6. I thought maybe I had won a somtam door prize or something based on the mad pounding/stamping which ensued. Yep, the Thai folks who had arrived in the meantime were not amused... But all in, no issues or surprises - except the TM6. Has the W30 stamp on it and stapled in my passport mostly covering the expiring 'stay' stamp.

OMF - For what it’s worth I bought my Aeron in 1996 in Seattle for something around $700 and it’s been in use daily since without issue. The only challenge is cleaning them due to intricacies of construction. Arstechnica.com had some office chair review articles about 18 months ago when the Great WFH tide rolled in. Bought the same oven July 1. Same problem, temp per Taylor oven thermometer about 70C below what is set on the oven dial. No ‘oven spring’ when baking bread and everything takes about twice as long to bake. Before contacting customer service I plugged my Habotest Socket Tester into the outlet adjacent to where the oven was plugged. Hmmm, 185-195VAC. The oven is specced for 220-240VAC. So I’m probably running the oven under ‘brownout’ conditions. Also it’s possible some of these ovens may have ‘second-choice’ components due to COVID-induced parts shortages. Might be worth checking your AC voltage to see if you are having similar issues.
