  1. Hi all

Since COVID I have been doing the 400k in the bank for my marriage visa and using an agency.

This year things have got a bit tight so thinking of going back to the one year multiple entry marriage visa.

Was going to head to Vientiane and do it there. Before COVID I was going to Savannakhet.

Can anyone tell me if this is still feasible and will they still allow one day border crossings on this visa?

  2. Hi All

I had ordered a new Honda Forza 350 a month ago. The dealership told me it would be a 4 week delivery. I called today to enquire when I pickup and was told it would be another 6 week wait.

Not impressed, I looked online for a 2nd hand deal and found an identical bike except its the 2019 model.

Does anyone know what the differences are apart from the size of the engine? ie - 300cc vs 350cc

I don't ride fast anyways so don't really need the extra 50cc

    The Marriott is very nice.

Good for families. Pool, breakfast and location - all good.

G Hua Hin Resort on Soi 94 is good too.

Wannara Hotel Hua Hin is a bit more basic but good location and decent enough rooms. Not sure what the breakfast is like.

In the south of town in Khao Takiab is Anantasila Resort which is nice too: https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1177858-anantasila-hua-hin-exclusive-rates-for-thais-expats-living-in-thailand-expires-30-nov/

    Thank you for the info

  4. Hi Guys

    We live in Chiang Mai

Looking at taking the family down to Hua Hin around Xmas time for a 3 night stay.

Never been before so seeking suggestions for a family.

I have a 14 year old boy and a 1 year old baby.

Like something on or close to the beach and a nice pool. Always like to get breakfast included.

We will be driving and staying midway or close to that on the way down. Any suggestions on possible places to stay on the way down would be appreciated.

    Cheers

would have thought that any hotel which is open at the present moment would bite your hand off to rent you a room.

You do not say which area of CM you are interested in.

Maybe on the Hang Dong side of the old town or even anywhere near the 121 ring road on the southern side

  6. Hi All

My friend just left for Krabi from Chiang Mai and left an important package behind.

I need to get it to him asap as he is only in Krabi for one week before leaving.

Any suggestions on who to use or how to send by normal post so it gets there on time?

  7. Hi All

Is there anywhere in town that has freezing cold Tiger Draught beer on tap.

Looking for a place that has friendly service and not full of bar girls as wish to have a few beers with my daughter.

Please don't bother suggesting Mad Dog as I already know about this place. I'm looking for other alternatives.

    Cheers

Be warned, on that very link that was provided by darksidedog the google reviews shows that 7 foreigners who put in a review all stated that there is NO ACCESS to foreigners to this area. One person complained that he was with his Thai family and they were allowed to go in but he wasn't because he was a farang. Please don't shoot the messenger, click the google reviews then click the foreigner reviews.

Thanks for the update. I did note that on some of the reviews when I looked it up. I don't need that issue so will probably give the beach a miss.

    Thanks again

I would avoid anywhere in the main gulf and go round the hook, south of Pattaya, which is where you will find clean waters, so you won't be itching and scratching when you get out.

Nam Sai beach near the Sattahip naval base is excellent, and has a very good range of nice places to stay, some right beside the water. Easy to find too as 10 minutes past Utapao airport.

When I have friends over, this is where we always go.

You can check it out here: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=nam+sai+beach+sattahip

The water parks mentioned earlier are both pretty close too.

Thanks so much for your help. Will be looking for resorts in this area as it sounds the perfect place. Thanks again.

  10. Hi All

I know I may get hammered for asking this question on here but here goes.

I live in Chiang Mai and we are keen to drive down to either Pattaya or Hua Hin for a short 5 day holiday with the family. We just want to spend some time near the ocean.

I have a newborn baby, a 13 year old boy and a 19 year old daughter.

Not looking at staying in the center of Pattaya. Interested to know any resorts that may be family friendly with fair beaches on the outskirts. Don't really need anything super flash. Just a nice pool and clean rooms. We just want to relax and chill for 5 days near the ocean.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Tony

  11. Hi All

I need to head up to Mae Sai from CNX this friday 22nd June to cross over the border. I have a late model Toyota TRD pickup and have been over 10 years driving experience in Thailand.

Looking for a companion or two to join me for the trip. Obviously will be asked to share the cost of fuel. I usually get up and back with 1000 baht of fuel so it would be 500 baht each.

Please note I am not a fast driver but am safe. Would be leaving CNX around 5.30am, spend 1 hour at Mae Sai and then return to CNX. Will have stops for coffee/snacks on the way.

Message me on here or call me on 085 4433351 if you are interested in joining me.

    Regards

    Tony
