Probably the stupidest story I have ever read on here. The only way they could improve it's behaviour is by cremating Bobby the killer Pit Bull's remains.
Took the words right out of my mouth.

Yes. A life jacket is useless if one is in the bowels if a large ship going down.

The always, and quite a few, unmanned counters are largely for show.
Guarantee that is the way it's been since Swampy opened for business in '06.
Long queues have been a matter of course for ages.
Yes.
The restrooms at the Mo Chit bus station are 3 times the size of those at Swampy as well.

If you're not supposed to kill & cook dogs, then why do they taste like food?

Bang! bang! bang!
I inadertently parked my truck in a taxi zone onve in Pattaya.
New parking area/new Mall. Sorry Bro, the paint on your Taxi space marking it out is barely dry.
Had about 6 of them ready to drag me to the nearest tree.
100 percent innocent mistake. They wanted to roll in the dirt over it!
I dearly love Thailand. I thought driving on the wrong side of the road was (and it is) a special skill.
I will never attempt to drive in Thailand again. Taxi;s only. Thank God I smoke Marlboros & don''t vape.
I'm too old and too fat. I hit 179 lbs recently.

I recall when they "RE-DID Central Road" 2002 or so.
They had that thing dug 2 meters deep for 8 months & layed in a new 2 foot thick layer of cement, replete with lots of rebar.
About two weeks after the cement had dried, they were out there with tunneling machines and jackhammers.
They forgot something.

It's all in the whistle.
Home-skillet blew 17 times..
Dead guy apparently did not hear the 18th toot.
==========
I was meeting a friend for dinner once off Ramgsit Road. I got there a bit early. they had about an acre of open parking space.
My Nissan king cab truck was the ONLY vehicle in the lot. Nothing else except for the giant potted plant, that he kept blasting on his whistle for me to get closer to.
I "accidentally" popped the clutch and smashed it.
"Lo so coon na kap"
The look on his face was priceless.

My Thai wife and her friends from all over SEA were cooking the stinkiest <deleted> I ever smelled.
I had quite the Hacienda & could smell it on the street! I took about 2 steps in the door & went back to my truck. Didn't say a word. I just went to the Sultan Center (like Tesco or Walmart) and bought 6 cans of air freshener.
She got the message = don't cook that nasty <deleted> around me!
I came in both barrels blazing with Potpouri in one hand and Pine Fresh Scent in the other, cussing vocifericously.

You also have to look at the bigger picture, which is that 80% of the buildings don't respect the rules and the authorities let it happen, as long as they get their share of the cake. Very often you can see buildings built directly on the roadside, despite the 2-metre rules..., and stands encroaching directly on the rad
The result is that the roads cannot adapt. Such situations happen everywhere, every dayAnd they have a poodle, who yaps at the soidogs ALL NIGHT LONG/

I recall 20 years ago, being on a boat tour to "Monkey Island"
We (bought) and took some bananas.
Sammy The Bull Gravano-monkey took charge.
I was beating them off with my flip-flops.
Wish I could do the same with Thai cops and not get shot.

Happened to me one time on a flight back from Sanaa to Sharjah on Yemen airways, on an old 727, pilot ignored it and just flew on with it banging all the way back to Sharjah
I was seated right at the back of the aircraft right under that third engine that the 727 has
Good old Sana'a. Brings back memories.

I know a lot of Americans who think of themselves as well-traveled.
A lot of them stay in American chain motels in the cities they visit and go on guided tours to see the sights.
So they have experienced Hiltons around the world and carefully curated tour experiences; often shopping oriented.
They do kind of isolate themselves from experiencing the places they visit.
Thise of who do not, get censored and ghosted.

Bit of a silly comparison.
A restaurant table does not have storms throwing rubbish and seaweed onto it at high tide. ????
It does however, have people that use it all the time.
I was sitting on Jomtien Beach near Pattaya once and saw the locals tossing plastic and styrofoam down, and just walked away.
I picked up after them.
A BIB (cop) came by later and thanked me as I was about done.
The Gulf of Siam is not the Straights of Gibraltar the Straights of Hormuz.
No major shipping is forced into it. 99.9999% of the garbage comes from local fishing boats & ferries.

Bayer? The same ones who introduced heroin as a pain reliever and cough suppressant in 1898? "Better living through chemistry" ...
Actually it may have been this: A Japanese chemist first synthesized methamphetamine—also called meth, crank, crystal meth or speed—from another stimulant in 1893. https://www.history.com/topics/crime/history-of-meth
Cannot argue. Cocaince used to be in Coca-cola.
Just wonding why meth has become an epidemic over the past couple decades?

German scientists invented it, pre WW2. Standard issue in soldiers' kits, it's what made the Blitzkrieg so effective
Yes, I have heard that, now that you mention it.
What ever happened to the good old days of hashish and the Hasshashiin (assasin) 0800 years ago?
Blame meth on Hitler I reckon. One truly evil person that surely does have a special place in hell.

Whoever invented meth deserves a special place in hell.
Never seen the stuff, wouldn't know it if you whacked me in the head with a bag of it.
I've done weed, coke & acid....briefly. The coke/crack & acid I experimented with for maybe 2 months back when I was 19. I'm 55 now.
Didn't take long & I realized I had to COLD TURKEY THAT <deleted>!...AND DON'T LOOK BACK!!!
I hear that meth is SUPER addictive, and well, I hear all the things I heard about weed and coke back in the 1980's.
They were crying wolf. Meth appears to be all the bad things they said weed was. Weed makes me stupid. Meth = Death.
My cousin in Florida did meth for a few decades. It weaked his immune system and he got diabetes so bad that he couldn't walk & shot himself in the head last December 26th. He was down to 109 pounds and just 51 years old.
Glad I never tried it.

Off w/ the RTA many years back. My company (AM General - manfacturer of the military HUMVEE truck), had sent them a new model of engine, that I helped them install on a 1988 model truck.
They wanted to do a 1,000 km test drive, which wound up being quite the trip and more like 2,000 km.
Regular old caravan of us, replete with 4 contractors (me & 3 locals), plus 8 or 10 RTA troops.
We left the Army base in Korat, and drove a whopping 2-3 miles, and they ran out of fuel. Off to a ROARING START!!!
We headed towards Chiang Rai (once the DUMMIES topped off the fuel tank).
They had some Lt. Colonel running the show & we drove till around 10:00 PM the first night. The driver of the HUMVEE called us and said he couldn't breathe! Some kind of fumes were overcoming his lungs.
I got a whiff of the interior of the truck and knew is was full of battery acid fumes.
I checked the output on the alternator & it was perfect. Not overcharging.
OOOOHHHH?! What can it be?
I pulled the batteries (24V system, so 2 X 12 volt batteries).
Some brainiac had put muriatic acid in the batteries. They are supposed to have sulfuric acid. I had a pool and worked on Army trucks for decades, so I knew the difference in the smell.
Muriatic acid balances the PH in your pool. Sulfuric acid is for automotive batteries.
I pulled all the battery cell caps and turned them upside down in a ditch. to drain them There was a gas station nearby & we cleaned them out of distilled water, (which eventually becomes sulfuric acid in a battery that's charging).
Anyhow, I hope they drop a few billion baht on education when it comes to batteries.
I won't be holding my breathe though (unless I'm riding in a Thai maintained EV). ????
