  1. Just an update, I sent mine Monday by DHL, it has cleared customs in the U.S. and is on its way to the final destination.
  2. Jingthing, I agree that I may not know the delivery made it to the right place but I don’t know of many options at this point. My wife makes great tacos and they don’t cause me heartburn like governments do.
  3. I went to the Jomtien post office and they confirmed no mail to the U.S. except for Courier Post. I started filling out the forms and realized I left the alternate address at home. Once home I looked up DHL (Thai post courier service) and went to their office in Jomtien. Ten minutes in and out, all was computerized at 1625 Baht, only signed my credit card receipt. Well worth it if all goes well, should be delivered by Friday. I never received a quote for the Courier Post. Now the way things usually workout I bet the whole postal thing will be back to normal in a few days. At which time I’ll send a copy if I’m not sure of things. Once DHL delivers I’ll have the wife make me some tacos.
  4. Good info, thank you PiB. I guess I missed that in the thread. I am closer to Jomtien post office and will go today to see if they accept the Courier Post.
  5. Received Saturday the 23rd, this is quicker than what I usually receive the form. I am located in 20150 Huay Yai area. I will send back by FedEx due to the postal problem.
  6. As of now the recent draft calls for a 1% tax with citizens being exempt.
  7. Mine is the same as yours. Not received yet, usually get on the 2nd. Maybe they are just backed up due to the holiday.
  8. I know this doesn’t help for people that have already applied but using the Embassy Outreach is very easy and at least for me a little less stressful. For one, Pattaya Outreach will be in August this year. I gave up a year to do it last year which is more than worth it to me.
  9. I just completed this quiz. My Score 60/100 My Time 100 seconds
  10. I finally came down to two: Sonetel and Callcentric. Callcentric uses Zoiper which is free and easy to set up. Both will accept my Skype number to be ported in. Not sure which one I will end up keeping but Callcentric seems to be better than Sonetel. Not using either very much since I am using up my Skype balance before porting in.
  11. My credit union that is a “partner” with Wise is in the U.S. but what you say makes sense since the receipt shows a local transfer into her account. Thanks. i don’t mind the wait as my other credit union is a pain to transfer money and I am at the mercy of the exchange rate.
  12. I am new to Wise and only made my 3rd transfer today. Wise is linked to my Credit Union so it is initiated with them and then Wise to my wife’s account. Today it took a little less than 2 hours. All 3 transfers completed around 11am which is the time her bank opens at Central. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.
  13. An update to my post above. Sonetel fixed my calling issue. and I have decided on them to replace Skype. Their support was top notch although it to several days to get where I could make a call. During the process they always kept in touch and at one time offered a refund if I wasnt satisfied. I will keep Hushed as a backup since its lifetime. I made a couple of calls with Sonetel, the quality was at least as good as Skype if not better. Also Fanytel had its problems and their support was terrible. I never got an answer or fix to my problem.
