  1. I go to the local clinic every three months. It takes about three hours to go through the cycle and costs about 1500 baht including three months of meds. They are very nice. What is interesting to me is how they have arranged the system. Monday is weekend trauma leftovers. Tuesday is Obstetrics, Wednesday is diabetes, Thursday is vaccinations and community health.... The specialists come in to treat the whole area on their topic. It actually makes sense. The most critical thing for us as consumers is to understand if our malady is typical or not. It may be our only heart attack but it is not the only one for the cardiologist. If you do not need a super specialist, try the government hospital. Another point, ask if your meds are the same ones the locals are getting. I reduced my meds bill by 10k a month by using the locally supplied products. Exact same care without a brand name.
  2. He is not going to enjoy prison.
  3. Just watch the rates and make sure it stays over 800k at the current bank exchange rate. You are playing a bit of a risky game if you do not have excess funds on deposit.
  4. Putin was having enough fun with the orange traitor giving the Russians free rein in Syria.
  5. They need to confiscate the passport of this Russian asset.
  6. They did not even glance at my IDP. Everything was based on my real drivers license. It was an easy enough process. The IDP is simply a translation and has zero value as a legal document. It say right in the book that it has no validity without the original license.
  7. Some sort of temperature variance caused the glass to break. It is rare but it happens. As for the American question, the US uses half the voltage. Maybe the higher power caused it to heat too quickly?
  8. EVisas are online so I would look on the internet. You can get 30 days with a US passport without a visa. You can also extend for an additional 30 days for 1900 baht and some paperwork.
  9. But that is a big part of it. The handlers had trouble turning them off and getting the dogs to release people.
  10. Couple this with a chart on prevalence by breed and it is even more impressive. Pit Bulls are a small percentage of the population but a massive percentage of injuries. Retrievers dwarf all other breeds by population but injuries are tiny. Police have moved away from Rottweilers as well due to their unstable temperament.
  11. If you want it sorted, require all dog owners to have liability insurance. The actuaries at the insurance companies will price pit bulls out of the market in short order. Then collect and dispose of any untagged soi dogs. They are a menace.
  12. The science on that is pretty clear, and agreed upon by those that know what they are talking about.
  13. Let's go already. We still need to deprogram the deluded after taking out the leader.
  14. Those minivans are a menace to everyone. Hyper-aggressive drivers, operating at untenable speeds, at the behest of greedy owners. I am nervous sharing the roads with them.
  15. Because they are not trainable like German Shepherds, Beagles and Labradors.
  16. You do know that Neil Young is Canadian, right?
  17. Please read Thomas Paine and get back to us on that.
  18. That has to be the Europeans wearing socks with sandals. There is no shortage of trashy Americans too though.
  19. Just renewed this morning and got the 5 years for cars and bikes. They were fine with the Elite visa and the Yellow book for my residence. They added my ID card for their data. I have to go to the main office in Chiang Rai for an IDP. I will also get a 5 year IDP independently. About 800 baht all in including multiple copies of my documents. So ~400 baht for a single license.
  20. I had done the 90 day anyway but registering the car and bike was easy enough. I got 4 residence letters and did the vehicles and licenses at the same time, Now I have to go renew ????
  21. The AQI can vary a lot over the course of the day. The government tends to report the most recent measurement but other sites may do average sampling over a period of time. You can argue over which provides the most accurate assessment. I would not want averages over more than an hour or so but the instantaneous reading can be deceptive too.
  22. Volunteer with a real NGO and then plan on doing real work for them.
  23. Anyone that can afford an Iphone has a computer. Try the on switch.
  24. Not true. The Thai airline clerks and security people read Thai just fine. What they struggle with is English. Nobody has ever rejected my ID card in Thailand.
  25. You will need a TM30 for your extension. Since you left, your old one is no longer valid.
