There is a gene in the police that makes them want to arrest people for not paying taxes and fines. Do you really want to get deported over a few hundred baht? -

New Visa Exemption Rules?
cjinchiangrai replied to cjinchiangrai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This will be interesting for border bouncers. Maybe next they will start limiting O visas to two per year or cracking down on "Agents". -
The Thai Embassies have published exemption rules limiting visitors to two per year. It used to be two by land borders and unspecified by air. Have they changed the rules? People are being refused by airlines.

I took my passport, wife, house book and a village elder to the district office. They gave me the yellow book and then a pink ID card. It was a little convoluted but I have plenty of time.

Phuket Hospital Appeals for Respectful Conduct from Russian Patients
cjinchiangrai replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
It is a two way street. The Thais treat doctors like gods and do not question any abuse. I will concede that a doctors time is more valuable than mine but not infinitely so. The system can be broken for the benefit of and deference to the staff. -
Foreigner Questions Thai Dowry: Netizens Respond
cjinchiangrai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That is not that large of a dowry, BUT! You need you know the rules. Second marriage 0, already has kids 0, no advanced education 0, works independently of the family 0, has ever been in Pattaya 0. The dowry is paid for well behaved, young women of child bearing age that can help support the new family, AND for the economic loss to her parents earnings. On the other hand, you still need to pay for the wedding. In an Issan village, that will set you back maybe 100-120k. You would also need show money to maybe 50k that goes back to the bank. -

Another idiot. Book him, jail him, deport him. It does not require this much air time.
