If you want the full 130Ah then the C/20 rate would be 6.5A. Discharge at the C/5 rate of 20A and you're down to 100Ah.

As to the maximum safe discharge current, I'd limit it to the 1C rate of 130A or so but your available capacity will be waaaay down.

Just great Crossy! with your help and some additional reasearch on the web I managed to read the specs. and just learnt how important the c-rate curve for the corresponding battery is and exactly this is the most important part of the specs. The rest is more or less just blabla...

The BMS’s were bought on AliExpress, they both broke in the first week so I don’t recommend them.  The Active Balancers were also bought on AliExpress, they’re ok I believe.

I now run without BMS, but my battery boxes have breakers for short circuit protection, my hybrid inverters are set for a low maximum charge rate (I charge quite slowly so I don’t need thermal management) and to only charge to 80% SoC and 10% DoD. In effect they are line interactive UPS units the way I use them.

I bought the Hybrid inverters direct from MUST Solar in China, they are 5.5Kw models and cost 16,333 baht delivered all duties paid. I bought the MUST Grid-Tied inverters from Thai Jeen Solar on Lazada. I had to add those because I export on average 80 KwHr’s per day (peak 120) and we use about that too as we run all the 11 air conditioning units 24/7 and keep the house at a constant temperature.

The MUST Hybrid Inverters are extremely poor at exporting power to the grid.

The batteries were imported by my friend and sourced by his Chinese ex-wife. Unfortunately, he crashed his motorbike and killed himself a week after the batteries were delivered, I believe they are Listen 272Ahr prismatic cells, I have 32 of them in two battery boxes.

I would caution against using more than one battery box, if a breaker trips and they get out of sync, you can’t just switch it back on as you’ll get an uncontrolled inrush of current from the other battery box.

I’m looking for a Hybrid Inverter that can run 3 units in parallel, can export a decent amount to the grid, and delivers its power in all conditions without using a separate emergency power circuit, and is also fanless. I’ve achieved that using 3 grid-tied and 3 hybrid inverters but I’d like to simplify it on the next project.

I build high end homes in Chiang Rai for resale.

    Hi

sorry for dropping in. Do you have a special room for the lithium batteries like a bunker or how do you shield the rest of the house from the batteries? There were cases were Tesla cars started to burn and they really have top engineers and almost unlimited financials.

Is this your solution for it?

"I now run without BMS, but my battery boxes have breakers for short circuit protection, my hybrid inverters are set for a low maximum charge rate (I charge quite slowly so I don’t need thermal management) and to only charge to 80% SoC and 10% DoD. I'm absolutely a greenhorn in this topic but would like to use one day lithium batteries - this is the reason for my question.

This goes back many years but to change from Marriage to Retirement in Bangkok required a current medical certificate (dreaded disease list) and that wife appear with you - the feeling being you may be about to do a runner from your wife was the stated reason from an officer.

".... the feeling being you may be about to do a runner from your wife was the stated reason from an officer....." It's funny, I had exactly the same thoughts, when I left the Imm office, because the 2 ladies in there where looking at each other - like giving each other signs. Well, next year I will bring my wife with me. Hopefully until then, those ladies forgot what I was asking for....and I will let my wife speak - I hate doing this because the outcome is often completly something else than what I wanted. Oh my oh my....

I agree, the first time (ever which was in Pattaya) I did the extension of stay on Marriage and the IO asked why I don't go for the retirement one, I said "Sorry I am not yet 50" he looked at my passport and smiled and said oke ????

That's funny, the same IO was telling me the same story last year as yours. Well sure but just under the condition to leave the country... hahahaha

  5. It's not in ISAAN! I was told yesterday by someone in my Thai class, he tried the same thing years ago at another place and they told him exactly the same story. The IO just refused to do it. So he gave me the advice to do as they say and not to argue...., while another colleague in the same class told me - he had no problem to change it in the past. I hate all these free-style thing....

but I can not change them, I can only change myself ????

  6. Just found the following link and I only hope that this information is not outdatet:

    https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?p=14714

    Section 22:

    Criteria for Consideration

    1. Must have been granted a non-immigrant visa (NON-IM).
    2. etc...

Oh my oh my.... Still have another year to go. Hopefully, until then the IO has forgoten my question and so will not loose face. I will show the person section 22 and will kindly ask him/ her if I'm qualified with my existing Visa Non-IMM O, if all other criterias are fullfiled.

  7. Here is the link https://en.pwa.co.th/calculate/water-tariff to check your waterbill. Because you have no waterbill based on meter-reading, you need to do some estimation. Accourding to my understand, you are using more than 25'000 liters within 15 days. This is just isane.

Insist on a bill based on a meter reading. Someone is cheating or you have a private swimming-pool in your condo.

  8. Hi

as far as I know, one can register a scooter or car with the yellow book without a residency certificate from immigration. I have a yellow book, which is only in Thai language also names which were taken from the marriage certificate translated in Thai. The blue book for the car will have names of the owner in Thai as well if registring with the yellowbook, while the passport is only in roman alphabets. Does anybody experience this situation and might this cause any problems later on?

    Thanks

  9. I was thinking about something cheaper solution than lithium, because I strongly believe, that technology in batteries will change dramatically based on the huge demand for them and in a few years maybe, I will reconsider to replace the Yuasas. 4 Yuasas for the aircon during the night instead feeding power back to the grid and the rest from the grid. It's an idea and maybe more of prototyping and gaining experience than saving money.
