  1. That's quite something, considering that VP Harris did not run in this election's Democratic primary.
  2. What is the point of making nonsensical statements? Your claim reads like talking points from a Russian propagandist. Calling President Zelensky a cokehead is infantile. What evidence do you have? The Ukraine war was initiated long before the Russians invaded the Ukraine in 2022. Russian backed militias as of March 2014 were actively killing Ukrainians. These militias were under the control of Russia. In July 2014, using Russian supplied antiaircraft missiles, the militia murdered 173 people onboard the Malaysian airline when they shot it down. The free world supported the Ukrainian resistance when Russia formally invaded in 2022 because Russia unilaterally attacked and invaded a smaller, weaker nation.
  3. This claim is false. Austin Private Wealth did not short sell 12 million shares of Trump Media on July 12, 2024. I will make it simple for you , please provide the documentation that supports the claim. A nonsensical allegation from Instagram, Rumble or X is not acceptable. Austin Private Wealth is an investment advisory company based in Austin, Texas. US SEC records show that the firm filed a July 12 report that did show a "put" amount of 12 million on Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. (DJT) The put was for the quarter that ended June 30. This was not a day or so before before the PA event. A PUT option is NOT short selling. A put option (or “put”) is a contract giving the option buyer the right, but not the obligation, to sell a set number of the declared securities at a predetermined price within a specified time frame. This predetermined price at which the buyer of the put option can sell the underlying security is called the strike price. Ever since DJT was launched, analysts have stated that it was overpriced and that the share price would be corrected down, and that is what occurred; From April 8, 2024 https://www.forbes.com/sites/dereksaul/2024/04/08/trumps-stock-officially-down-50-since-first-day-peak--trumps-stake-down-over-3-billion/ Former President Donald Trump’s social media company’s stock market slide continued Monday, as the more than $10 billion valuation scored by Trump’s company’s just two weeks ago looks to be fleeting. (It reduced by 50%) The company is a meme stock. It generated $40 million in revenue in 2023. That kind of revenue cannot support the stock price, which means that the stock price will fall. This then brings us back to why larger investment firms would have registered their rights to sell securities. Prudent traders typically buy Puts when they expect the stock’s underlying asset to fall, i.e. the value of DJT corrects. The DJT stock performed as expected. It has been up and down like a toilet seat. IMO the small investors who bought the stock will lose much of their investment.
  4. Depressing topic. Having survived the Covid pandemic peak, I hope that we do not have to go through another pandemic in my lifetime. Yes, Covid is here to stay. Unfortunately, unlike other respiratory illnesses we still are not managing as well as it could be. The mortality rate from an infection is still far too high. Worse is the dismissal of the infection by some because it doesn't kill off younger people. What they forget is that it is an inflammatory disease and we do not know what its long term impact is on those who have been infected. Remember when childhood chickenpox was not deadly, but then it comes back with a vengeance in older people as shingles and can leave people in pain for months.
  5. Spare a kind thought for the Iranians who most likely assisted the Israeli agents. A large number of Iranians are not supporters of the religious regime. As we can see from the Iranians who have fled Iran for the west, they are often educated and secular, and have no use for Hamas, Hezbollah and other radical groups. I anticipate that the Iranians will be torturing and killing many Iranian dissidents in the weeks to come.
  6. There will not be a landslide for either political faction. The election will continue to be decided in a small number of states. Harris may hold most of the states the Democrats won previously. She may also put some 1 or 2 red states into play.
  7. You do not mention that there are almost 3 million "temporary" Canadians, who are not citizens (or passport holders of convenience). Proportionally that's higher than in the USA. Like in the USA, those temporary residents are paying minimal taxes, but are taking advantage of the healthcare, education and housing. The end result is that Canadian citizens are unable to access affordable housing and face long wait times for services. The business lobbyists had stated that they only needed approx. 250,000 workers. What happened is that certain groups exploited the educational visa programs and the family visit/reunification programs to bring in hundreds of thousands of marginal people who are an economic burden to Canada. As in the EU and USA, economic migrants as bogus refugees, overwhelming the refugee program. You will find now that much of the country has turned against the immigration policy of the current government and that even if the party leader changes, the Liberals will be thrown out of office for the next 2 elections.
  8. The Nakba was arab initiated. It has aready been explained and documented so many times in these forums that the attacking arab nations told the local arabs to leave and that they would return just as soon as the arab armies had made Israel juden frei. That's where from the river to the sea chant originates: A demand for the mass murder of the people of Israel. Even if you don't want to believe the historical facts, you use that event as a justification for the mass deportation and persecution of nearly 1 million arab jews. Brilliant logic. That position is not based upon legalities or morality.
  9. He was not negotiating for peace. He was representing Hamas. There was no intent from Hamas to negotiate peace. Multiple ceasefire/truce agreements had been presented and agreed upon in principle, but then always refused by Hamas. As an integral party to the attack of October 7 and the breaking of the truce that had in place, he had no credibility. He was a dead man walking.
  10. If Netanyahu and Gallant are innocent why are they not willing to go before the I.C.C. to prove their innocents? The obligation is upon the accuser to prove the allegation. Your position is one of a presumption of guilt. That is how it works in Iran, North Korea, Yemen and a few other despot states. You would not accept if you were accused of a crime and then told to prove that you are not. Why then do you expect that you can demand it of others?
  11. LOL. If you can show you worked in Thailand, I doubt anyone will ask.
  12. Perhaps some international observers would have helped. ICAO, European, Singapore or Japan safety boards would have brought some credibility considering past issues with safety at Thai airports.
  13. 76.4% of Israelis voted for anyone other than Likud and its leader Netanyahu. That should make clear that he does not have the support of a majority of his nation. He clings to office by pandering to multiple factions, some right wing extremist and others greedy selfish religious zealots concerned only about avoiding military service and receiving as many state benefits as they can. It is not anti semitic or anti Israel to be opposed to this man. Unfortunately, the non Israelis who are opposed to him are usually motivated by their hate for Israel and for jews. He is not an idiot as demonstrated by his ability to stay in office. Nor is he a murderous child killer. What is idiotic, is the use of over the top nonsensical claims like this. What's next, accusing him of drinking the blood of gentiles and using their bones to make bread? The only thing similar to 9/11 is the failure of the intelligence services. Far worse in Israel as multiple personnel had warned of a potential attack and they were ignored, apparently in large part because they were women. You are a proponent of anti Israeli positions, comments and politically tinged opinions. As such, your comment must be considered with that in mind. The concerns of jewish communities around the world are valid. Those are mostly muslims roaming the streets and attacking people assumed to be visible jews. People are not Islamophobic to be concerned about the ongoing hate speech in mosques and "schools". Consider the uproar if my local church had preached for the extermination of muslims, as occurs at many mosques where jew hate is disseminated. Consider the uproar had my local church not taken in Syrian refugees and had instead argued for their extermination as many muslims now demand against Israelis. The reality is that it has always been open season on jews. East Europeans were masters at it with Russian pogroms leading in the late 1800's.The Arab countries expelled their jewish populations who had been native for thousands of years. Egypt gave them 72 hours to leave 1956. Baghdad's streets ran red with the blood of its jewish community who were forced out post 1948. Idi Amin expelled his Indian community with days notice. he seized all that they had. His reward was to live out his life in Saudi Arabia with his ill gotten wealth. Europe's leftists took on the mantle of hate because their politics have always been predicated on blaming someone for their own misfortunes. Israelis and jews know that the only people who will protect them are other jews and Israelis. We have seen what world assurances and claims of the need for civility achieved in Sierra leone, Liberia, Rwanda-Burundi, Cambodia, and Bosnia. There is an ongoing genocide of Black Africans in the Darfur being carried out by muslim militias, but the UN has done nothing. Every week in Nigeria, Christians are murdered and young women kidnapped by muslim Boko Harem, and not a word of condemnation from the UN. Who protected the Yazidis from their rape and torture by muslim jihadis in Iraq and Syria? So, no, I won't jump on the excuse wagon called "Islamophobia".
  14. Do not conclude that Orban or Hungary is pro Russian. Far from it. Remember that Hungary has a deep seat dislike of Ukraine and still lays claim to a part of the Ukraine that was once a part of the Austro Hungarian Empire. The Zakarpattia region of Ukraine was occupied by Romania, the Czechoslavakia, then Germany and then Soviet Russian Hungarians until it was handed back to Ukraine. This is all about Orban pandering to the Hungarian nationalists and providing a distraction from his corrupt regime. The EU has had enough of his blackmail. Hungarians will find out too when they don't get the generous voluntary handouts.
  15. it was not a phony conviction. A jury of Trump's peers convicted based upon overwhelming evidence of wrongdoing. The US border problems could have started to be addressed had trump not blocked the bipartisan bill authorizing enhanced measures at the border. It was a start. The law could have been amended or changed after Trump was elected. Instead, Trump stopped the law to allow continuing problems at the border to bolster the negative message on immigration.
  16. Context matters. The results are from the Pew NPORS study, which offered financial incentives and had a 32% response rate. 5,626 responded. The survey was fielded from Feb. 1, 2024, to June 10, 2024, before Biden withdrew. The survey does not account for independents, not does it reflect how the percentages translate into actual voters. Other surveys indicate a disengagement from both parties and a swing to undecided and others like Kennedy.
  17. The westerners are still there. They are not as noticeable because of the higher number of non Europeans. the new 60 day visas will swell the winter time visitors from European countries. People who didn't want the paperwork hassles of applying for visas will gladly jump at 60 days plus an extension. It is the perfect magnet for Nordic retirees. The advantage of the non western visitors is that they are not complainers. No Chinese national comes and complains about traffic. I doubt the visitors from Mumbai, Chennai etc. see any traffic congestion in Thailand. No need to lower alcohol taxes as it won't make a difference. The roads are as safe as Malaysia, India and China. Drivers are no worse than in Russia, but are probably more likely to be sober. All these new visitors are arriving now, a time when westerners don't usually visit. Get it though your head that Thailand wants a diversification of its tourists. It is happy if muslims from Malaysia and the middle east come and don't drink. Less likely to have alcohol related problems as is seen with westerners.
  18. What is this border czar nonsense? There is no border czar position in the US government. The claims of such are an attempt to promote a false narrative. VP Harris had no authority over border security, nor did she have any involvement. To argue otherwise is to ignore the powers allowed by the US Constitution. Fact: Border security laws are enacted by the US Congress. Fact: The US Vice president has no legal authority, nor mandate to act on border security. It is the responsibility of the Secretary for Homeland Security. It was the Trump faction that stopped the bipartisan border security bill that would have provided $20 billion for border security and immigration enforcement. The Democrats had agreed to the Republican key demands. The block was done solely to further the problems at the border.
  19. I don't know how long you have practiced law in the state of New York, but that is not exactly what the people who have practiced law in New York advise. Trump is a convicted felon. To argue otherwise is to say that there was no court ruling and no appeal of the conviction. Trump has appealed the decision. The penalties that will apply for the crime(s) will not be applied until the final adjudication. However, the felony conviction exists. All the other claims you make are irrelevant. The man was tried using evidence and testimony from his own employees and lackies. the jury convicted based upon the weight of evidence. The trial was in New York because that is where the crimes occurred. If you are unhappy with the format of the trial, revise the US Constitution.
  20. Ok, but that is not the case here. The deceased was not driving a motorbike. She was stopped on the side of the road, when she was hit; She had stopped by the roadside to answer a phone call from her mother when Wihok, driving at high speed, lost control on a curve and struck A, throwing her into the nearby drinks shop. Even if the girl had been on the motorbike, and was otherwise acting responsibly, the automobile driver would retain legal liability if he was driving at high speed and had lost control. The unlawful activity of another does not automatically excuse or diminish the the wrongful act of another. As for the helmet, when a pedestrian is hit by a motor vehicle do you raise the issue of the pedestrian not wearing a quality helmet? If the deceased was not on a motorbike and not in a moving traffic lane, then the deceased, for the purposes of determining legal liability for the injury, was a pedestrian. There is no need to over think this. If the facts of the case are correct as stated, the automobile driver is 100% liable and will be guilty of vehicular manslaughter. ot driving, not in a vehicle travel lane and not
  21. These STIs are not the treatable diseases of your youth. These are antibiotic resistant super strains and present a serious threat to public health. Taking antibiotics destroys the natural flora of the stomach and puts the user at a higher risk for other diseases, so the uptick in the number of infections should not be laughed off If you look at the Syphilis epidemic that has been ongoing since the 1990's in Germany, you will see another reason why the Thai infections should be a concern: They closely associated with those who are infected with HIV.
  22. C'mon. My friend is a fishing fanatic. He has a folding filet and deboning gizmo that he carries in his bag all the time. I have a a mountaineer utility pocket device in my side back that has a blade long and sharp enough to slice open a throat. It also has a corkscrew that can crack a head, multipurpose hook that Denzel Washington used to kill someone with in the Equalizer, and metal saw that can sever a finger. It also has a saw blade, a corkscrew. This doesn't make me a coward, just someone who can McGyver my way out of a lot of common incidents.
  23. You have no idea as to what the dispute was about. For all you know, the deceased could have attacked the accused. Why not wait for the facts of the event to be established?
  24. If you have not been in Hua Hin or Cha Am during the year, you might get the impression that on some days the beaches are empty. They are not. Because the beaches are so long, they can handle large amounts of people without crowding. Cha Am skews to an older foreign demographic. The condo towers are chock full of them. They are not beach sitters and learnt a long time ago that sitting in the sun all day gives you skin cancer and makes you into a wrinkled chunk of shoe leather. Hua Hin is busy. Go out at night and the fish restaurant strip is busy, even in low season. It's a golf town and the golf courses are filled with UK, Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese golfers. There are sections of the beach where the windsurfers are like an infestation of gnats. What has changed is that short term visitors are not spending time in the malls and going to the low value tourist sites like they used to. There is no need. They are out walking, cycling, doing day trips outside of the town. People are far more active than ever before.
  25. This issue has been explained multiple times ever since this forum was called Thai Visa. Yes, it is true that your rich Thai friends are allowed to buy land and houses in the USA. There are literally city blocks available in Detroit, Texas City, Cleveland, Flint, etc. where they would be greeted with joy and delight. The locations come with their own population of "special" people who can provide hours of entertainment as they drop in unexpectedly and share their love of crack, yaba, syringes, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Ripple and guns. However, even wealthy Thais find that quality locations in places like Palm Springs, Miami, New York City etc. can cost in excess of 50 million baht. That is quite a contrast from the sub 5 million baht affordability of Thailand. Not many Thais can afford to purchase in the USA and those who do are as you say, are wealthy. The western foreigners who purchase in Thailand are not particularly wealthy, and most if not all have less than US $1 million in liquidity. Thailand is the last place a wealthy law abiding US citizen would choose and the reasons have been explained multiple times over the years. The Thai visa and landownership restrictions are needed to ensure that Thais are not priced out of the market and do not see their country purchased by foreigners. Ask Canadians how a free for all on visas and foreign ownership has worked out. 3 million temporary citizens have crowded out Canadians from affordable housing and from their medical care system. Ask the UK and the EU how they like being over run by foreigners who have transformed some communities into foreign enclaves and forced other ethnic/religious groups out.
