Thai doctor vows to create "Hitler Room" to gas hospital smokers
He was sarcastic. The intent was to attract attention to the selfishness of smokers. It is frustrating for a physician treating heart and lung diseases to be confronted by idiots who smoke inside and near the entrances of hospitals.

Rising Wave of Anti-Semitism Sparks Fears of a Dark Future for Jewish Communities
The difference is that Judaism allows for and encourages discussion and challenging of the faith. It is how Judaism evolved and why there are enlightened versions of it today. The same holds for Christianity. At one time the Church of Rome claimed to be the only interpretation. Centuries of corruption gave rise to a non christian faith. The Reformation through its own clergy brought the faith back to its roots. Christianity like Judaism has since evolved.

Temu vs. Lazada for Online Shopping Bliss?
I have tried a few consumer items from Temu. Cheap price but low quality. The screwdrivers had the oddest pungent chemical odor. One of the items arrived broken. In an order of 5 items, 1 was not included. Customer service was good though. It was a trial purchase to check out merchandise. I won't purchase again. It's rubbish.

Why is Trump Really Running for Office Again?
He tried to incite a civil war with his irresponsible actions after he lost the election. He benefited from forcing the secret service to rent rooms at his hotels where he stays. You ignore the fact that Trump likes to stay at his golf club hotels in Palm Beach and New jersey. The secret service is forced to rent rooms in these places. Quite a contrast from former Jimmy Carter, who lives modestly. Even former Presidents Bush, Clinton and Obama keep the security expenses restrained. During his presidency, foreign officials from certain countries were lavish spenders at his hotel in Washington DC. And then there is the questionable financing of the Trump real estate debt by Saudi Arabia. You keep writing that as if the January insurrection and attempt to murder VP Pence and Speaker Pelosi did not occur.

Israel Hamas War the Widening Middle East Conflict
It takes time to get responsible parties. How long did it take the US government to get the people responsible for attacking the US mission in Beirut in the 1980's? How long did it take to get Osama bin Laden? It isn't an easy task to get someone when they are hiding out in countries which go to great lengths to protect such people. (Hello Pakistan, Qatar, Turkey, Iran). Much of the world enables terrorism for fear that if they don't kowtow they will be targeted.

House gop push bill that links federal funding to a citizenship check for new voters
The ID the republicans want exceeds requirements that are acceptable now. They act to exclude groups who do not have the identification cards demanded. The state of Arizona requires the following identification in order to vote; List1: -Valid Arizona driver license -Valid Arizona non-operating identification license --Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification Valid United States federal, state, or local government issued identification Or List 2: 2 of the following identification without a photograph that bear the name and address of the elector -Utility bill of the elector that is dated within 90 days of the date of the election -Bank or credit union statement that is dated within 90 days of the date of the election -Valid Arizona Vehicle Registration -Indian census card -Property tax statement of the elector's residence -Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification -Arizona vehicle insurance card -Recorder's Certificate -Valid United States federal, state, or local government issued identification, including a voter registration card issued by the County Recorder Or a combination of the following; -Any valid photo identification from List 1 in which the address does not reasonably match the precinct register accompanied by a non-photo identification from List 2 in which the address does reasonably match the precinct register -U.S. Passport without address and one valid item from List 2 Consider the following three people; John Doe. A blind white person, gainfully employed who lives in an adapted living facility. The rent includes utilities as is common for many rentals. Bank statements are sent electronically (does anyone still receive bank statements by post anymore?) This person would not necessarily have any of the ids in list 1 or 2. Jane Doe. A student from small town AZ attending university. She does not drive, has never left the state and lives in student housing. She will not necessarily have any of the identification formats required. She would have a university id card, but this is not acceptable. At best she might have on e of the 2 requirements. X Doe: A transgender person living off the grid. Their driver's license does not show the new gender and has a photo different than how they look now. Living off the grid, there is no likelihood of having any of the documentation required. These are 3 examples of how people would be disenfranchised. It is why previous laws to impose various new rules have been ruled unconstitutional.

PM suspected of Trying to Erase Evidence Related to Thaksin's Hospital Stay
No. Nor do I claim that Thai politics are clean. Political life in a country reflects the society as a whole. The same people in this forum who complain about corruption are also the first to laugh about how they offer up tea money or play the visa system. The issue here is one of an accusation without any proof. It is a common tactic in Thailand: The uttering of accusations without evidence, innuendo, smears etc. It is how the MFP was attacked and sidelined. If Thaksin has done wrong, then use the legal system in a fair manner to prosecute him. Every time a false charge is used, it is an obstacle to cleaning up the country. Being honest is a 24/7 activity, not an act of convenience when it suits someone.

PM suspected of Trying to Erase Evidence Related to Thaksin's Hospital Stay
That is a very jaundiced and depressing outlook on life. Your logic holds that Pita Limjaroenrat is guilty of all the "crimes" his opponents claim. The presumption of innocence is a cornerstone of democracy and a society where basic human rights are respected. We all know the Thaksin clan has a history of being dirty. However, an allegation of something does not make a person guilty. Many people consider foreigners who visit or live in Thailand to be child molesters. Is it right that everyone be presumed guilty because of the crimes of a few?

Baht becoming ridiculously strong
The claims that she is stupid come only from supporters of Trump. Aside from being childish, it is not based on fact. The candidate is not elected nor even close to being elected yet. There hasn't been any event or statement from the candidate that would negatively impact the currency valuation. The Trump campaign insists that Trump is in the lead, so there should be no Harris impact. You can't have it both ways. And really, it is very childish to call the candidate stupid. She did not get where she is by being stupid. She made it through undergraduate and law school, and successfully reached multiple positions of higher office. How far did you get with an education and have you ever managed a large legal team and been held accountable for the results?

Why is Trump Really Running for Office Again?
And elderly, but is he a leftist? Are long standing Republicans leftists? People like; Jimmy McCain - The late Sen. John McCain’s youngest son, Army 1st Lt. Jimmy McCain Olivia Troye - Worked on national security issues for Vice President Mike Pence during the Trump administration, John Giles - The Republican mayor of Mesa, Arizona Geoff Duncan - Georgia’s former Republican lieutenant governor Stephanie Grisham - Trump’s former White House Press Secretary Adam Kinzinger - The former Illinois congressman Barbara Comstock - The congresswoman from Virginia Ana Navarro - The Republican co-host of ABC’s “The View” and CNN commentator Chuck Hagel - Former secretary of defense and former senator from Nebraska. Denver Riggleman - The former Republican congressman from Virginia Christine Todd Whitman - The former New Jersey governor and administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency during the George W. Bush administration. Rich Logis - The once pro-Trump pundit J. Michael Luttig - The conservative legal scholar and retired federal appeals court judge. Appointed by George H.W. Bush, he also worked as an attorney in the Reagan White House and clerked for the late conservative Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Bill Weld - The former Massachusetts governor Christopher Shays - The former congressman from Connecticut Joe Walsh - Former Illinois Congressman Ray LaHood - Former Transportation Secretary in the Obama administration, Susan Molinari - The former Rep. from New York Jim Edgar - The former governor of Illinois 200+ Former Republican staffers- More than 200 former staffers who worked for former President George H.W. Bush, former President George W. Bush, former Arizona Sen. John McCain, and Utah Sen. Mitt Romney endorsed Harris in an open letter. According to the mass hysteria of the Trump collective, all these patriotic Republicans are "leftists".

Why is Trump Really Running for Office Again?
Is former VP Dick Cheney a leftist? And no those were not book keeping charges. It was fraud. 34 charges in a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election through a hush money payment to a pornography worker who said the two had carnal relations.

Baht becoming ridiculously strong
Yu wrote Kamala. The only Kamala I am aware of is a beachside community on Phuket. I don't see the relationship of the town to the baht strengthening. Thailand has been amassing a great deal of foreign exchange. In case you missed it, the country managed its expenditures cautiously during the Covid crisis and made allowances for the loss of tourism revenues. Now those revenues are back and the country has not drawn down on the reserves that have been growing.

PM suspected of Trying to Erase Evidence Related to Thaksin's Hospital Stay
Thankfully you have no authority, nor power to act on your imagined world. What we have is an allegation. In Thailand it is easy to accuse. Political factions like to point their grubby dirty fingers. Proving the case is something quite different. The PM is entitles to the presumption of innocence. The burden of proving guilt lies with her accusers.

Favourite Restaurants
Any Sakura restaurants left in Hua Hin? My favourite was across from the former Issan Station (now the beer bar zone). There was one near the fish restaurant strip/night market, but it closed too. I found Sakura Sushi very consistently good and miss it. Been gone 2 years now 😟

Just nearly sent me back home to Blighty.
We won't. Refusal of entry of criminals, visa flippers, and of people unable to show that they can support themselves is not unusual. Deportations are a different activity and are not done at arrival. On any given day many people are deported at land borders back to Cambodia, Myanmar and Malaysia.

For doing their jobs? The person violated the visa rules last time. He doesn't even show remorse or concern, but has a smarmy arrogance.

Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
A deluded claim and one that is misleading. China is far more implicated in international conflict than western nations including the USA. China conceals its weapons sales, while western nations are transparent and are subject to review and conduct/use conditions. The official Chinese policy of non-interference, applied to potential arms buyers, means that China will sell weapons and security equipment to a state without regard to its internal political situation or the repressiveness of the regime. It is the preferred weapons supplier of pariah states. China supplies weapons to Myanmar where they are used by the brutal despot military regime against its own people. China is the principal (sole) supplier of tactical ballistic missiles to Africa. These are powerful weapons of war and allow conflicts to be more aggressive and deadly. Western countries have intentionally avoided supplying these missiles. China prices its arms to undercut international competitors. Prior to the Ukraine weapons requirements of Russia and Ukraine, China's principal competitor was both Russia and Ukraine, especially Russia. China intentionally sold at the lowest possible price to buy market share. This is the same strategy China has used with other industrial sectors such as EV vehicles, solar power supplies, textiles, and consumer electronics. China does not co-operate with the UN arms monitoring efforts and is late in reporting arms sales to sanctioned regions. Often the information is incomplete or not reliable. A compelling case can be made to identify China as a leading contender. Unlike western countries, Chinese expansionism has often been the reason for war. Western militaries have typically acted under international authorization. For example, the Korean War initiated by China and its puppet North Korean secessionists featured heavy Chinese attacks and bombings of South Korea. Western militaries were acting under the authority of the United Nations and were not the US military or UK or Thai military when they participated. Legally, it was a defensive action authorized by the world against the war waging Chinese. Similarly, when the US was involved in the liberation of (ungrateful and unappreciative) Kuwait, it was done under the authority of the United Nations. China has launched wars against Tibet, Myanmar, India and Vietnam. The comments should be put in perspective. He is the CEO of an arms manufacturer. It is his role to encourage the support and expansion of his firm. If there was not an issue, the government would not have been supporting the expansion of his firm and the building of a new state of the art munitions plants. In his comments where you emphasize the year timeline you ignore that he also states "We are fine in three, four years - but to be really prepared, we need 10 years," The fact is that since the comment made in February, the EU has already reached an annual production capacity of 1 million 155mm artillery shells, and allocated another €500 million to its ASAP program to expand capacity again. Yes, Russia has an estimated 3 million shell production capacity, but it comes at a significant cost to the Russian economy. Russia is mass producing in haste resulting in a high number of duds and defective munitions. Worse is the diversion of funding away from critical infrastructure and social services. The Russian capacity is being paid for with the future of Russia's youth. Meanwhile, the USA is quickly closing in on an annual production of 1.2 million 155mm shells. The USA will have increased its production of artillery shells by 500% within two years. The UK will also boost its 155mm shell production 8X once the new BAE facility is complete in 2025. Sweden has increased its production capacity, and once the Canadian government stops dithering, its manufacturing capabilities will be added. The most important takeaway is that the free world has ramped up in a responsible manner, protecting their economies and environments and ensuring sustainable production goals. The manufacturing is spread across multiple nations, while Russian production is still concentrated at a few mega toxic smoke polluting facilities that poison the local areas. The Free world is planning for the long term while Putin and his cronies are just concerned about surviving for another year.

Yes, this is a likely explanation. Another is that they may have been misidentified,. Belarus and Russia air intervention system operators are scared. They obviously want to protect their nations, but are also worried about being blamed if a drone or missile gets through their screens. Morale cannot be great.

Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
How wrong you are. Wrong because you do not differentiate between a functional and a dysfunctional government. Wrong because you do not differentiate between a government with legitimacy and one that is illegitimate. Wrong because you do not understand that there are significant differences between the two nations and their circumstances.

Allan Lichtman, the Nostradamus of U.S. presidential predictions has made his FINAL pick
The USA does not have open borders and does not have full price controls. The Democrat party does not propose open borders or full price controls. Price controls and open borders are not "communist". Price controls are warranted when there is an imperfect supply system and are used to prevent excessive profit taking when there are quasi monopolistic supply systems. Much of the cost control measures are state regulated. For example, rent increase controls, utility rate increases, insurance rates. The EU has open borders between member countries. Is Hungary or Poland communist? Price controls are not in themselves "communist". There are cost caps on some products such as insulin to prevent the small number of suppliers of a relatively inexpensive product from charging vulnerable people an inflated price. The manufacturer is still allowed a healthy profit.

New travel rules: Thailand’s ETA to shake up visa-free visitors
ok. And the new format will address that. The immigration department will now be able to see how many times a person comes and goes and for how long.

What communists. The Democrat Party and its election platform are not even remotely close to communism. Why call it communist? Do you even know what a communist economic or social policy is? Are you really this uneducated?
