Pitrevie, login to the router is no problem, from there I also have the new mac address which then
gives me the new WEP key. The problem is that True does not seem to accept this key when I try to connect to the internet.
-
Francois, yes it's written on the side but this one is not valid anymore.
There is a new board inside, so it's basically a new router. I determined the
new MAC address and put it in during setup, to no avail.

Was just browsing the net for something and got to some page by UseNext. According to thier web page its the next generation for downloading. Far superior to Torrents. any information on this stuff??? or experience of using it?
I stumbled over UseNext as well and almost signed up because their statements were promising.
But then I discovered that -although it was supposed to be secure connection- there was no lock displayed in the taskbar. Not a good idea when using your credit card number...

Hi,
Before I call the truly useless True helpline, I'd like to ask you gurus out there first.
Here is the problem:
I am using a True 2Mb/s connection with a wireless Billion router (don't know the exact
model right now because I am not at home). The other day the router went dead, so True
put a new board in. All lights were up again, so far so good. During the setup of the router
you need to supply a 5 digit WEP key in order to be able to connect to the internet. These
five digits are the last 5 digits of the router's MAC address.
Since the router has a new board, it also has a new MAC address. However, when entering
the 5 digits of the new MAC address, it won't connect to the internet saying there is limited or
no connectivity. Strangely, if I connect router and laptop via LAN cable it establishes an
internet connection. Any idea anybody?

To be completely correct, I also must say that I receive a certificate for complimentary round-trip upgrade everytime my Gold status is renewed (every two years). I was referring to upgrades upon check-in and I think you are also. So in that regard perhaps you are correct and I should ask for upgrades. I'm flying Thai tomorrow and I'll ask for one.
Ok rogerdee, point taken. This makes it more clear.
Hope you get an upgrade tomorrow.
Good luck

Well, since this topic comes up...
I am living in Ekamai and also heard someting more similar to gunshots than fireworks.
First, I did not think about it much, but seems other people got the same impression.

Do you guys have nothing else to do than replying to a troll's post ?
-
So, what's your point?
-
On another note: If you re-qualify for gold status in the 2-year evaluation period, you automatically
get a complimentary upgrade. Doing 50,000 miles in 12 months gets you even two upgrades
-
Again I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to Business. I've been a Thai Gold Member since it started in the early 1990s and this is only the second time I've been upgraded.
Star Alliance was inaugurated in 1997 (not early 1990s) with Thai as one of it's founding members.
Since then, I have received complimentary upgrades 2-3 times a year.
Maybe you should ask more often?

Maybe this topic belongs more to the "I drink too much" forum?

Seems like no smoking frequent flyers?

I'm in the process of buying a beer bar in my girlfriends name

I guess that before passing immigration it should be possible to walk out into the open and light up, or did they ban it there now as well?

Well, I join the club of the "bad" guys.
Smoking outside the terminal is no problem, same as in Don Muang.
I would also be interested if there is a smoking section/room in the Thai lounges.

Banyan Tree Phuket
Beautiful villas with own swimming pool, nicely furnished.
Thank god I did not need to pay

They also drink beer with straws. Go to a 7-11, buy a can of beer
and you always get a straw with it.

And cools down too

Thanks steveromanino for that very informative reply.
Why did I not think of JobsDB in first place?
Fully agree that personal connections are the best way to find staff, but I think
for now I'll go with JobsDB. You get a lot of response there although - as you said-
95% is rubbish
Thanks again,
cheers
