  1. It'll be interesting to see how the situation progress especially when it gets dark. If there is violence and bloodshed from any one you bet they'll be censorship and the internet, telephone and all forms of communication device will be cut even electricity :D

  2. Just ran a quick test and found I can do it this way, though will require a little effort. I used TMPGenc, which is freeware AVI/MPEG converter to read the video in. It has an option then to output to file in bmp/jpg/ppm/tga format. This means it saves each frame as an image file. Then I imported it (jpg) files) into Adobe ImageReady as frames from folder. Resized the image to 100x100 and saved as an animated gif file. Worked fine. Instead of ImageReady (expensive), you can use the free download software I mentioned before.

Now the problem. The size is going to be large even after resizing. You will need to probably cut frames out, not enough to effect the animation or resize it smaller, like 90x90. Also color optimizing, that is reduce the color count to make it smaller but still realistic.

    Thanks tywais,

    I will give that a try :o

  3. Fare SA to Central City 300 baht on meter

Toll Way 70 baht to 100 baht depends where you go.

Now new airport surcharge 100 baht! Announced today.

    How can it be?

Lower Sukhumvit -> Don Muang on meter: 150-180B depending of the traffic. Isn't the distance to the new airport roughly the same? Thus total cost should be about 350B (70B tollway, 100B surcharge, 180B meter price).

If I remember right, from lower Sukhumvit to Don Muang is some 25 km. I went to Suvarnabhumi

today starting from Ekamai via Bangna Trad tollway and ended up with 43 km on the clock. Add the distance from lower Sukhumvit to Ekamai and it is easily 50 km. :o

  4. I experienced the same thing receiving texts from Thailand to my UK mobile.

The number shown was different but it is a number reserved for SMS services. I found this out by calling it.

It happened for a few days but seems to have stopped now, my guess is that it may be the Thai mobile company buying SMS usage (?) from a third party in bulk to get cheaper international messages , and there was a technical glitch.. but I'm not technical or knowledgeable so....

    totster :D

I think Totster is right. It has something to do with buying usage from a third party.

I called my sister in Germany from my Thai mobile and she told me, that a strange

    +44......... number :o showed up.

  5. hi'

it does look like that free antivirus aren't able to stop any real bad attack, as the windows firewall neither ...

    Sure Francois,

Commercial software is better, no doubt. On my laptop at home I use a combination of Kaspersky Antivirus, ZoneAlarm Pro and Spy Sweeper and never had any problem. It cost's me some 80$ a year to renew but it's well worth it.

On the other hand for the average user, freeware is surely an option. Definitely better than nothing.

    Cheers :o

  6. Thanks for the link. great program.

But still can't figure out how to stop the little pop-ups in the right hand corner of the screen though, without disabling the realtime shield.

It found a couple of problems (all but one minor) which SpyBot and AVG did not find!

Somewhat off-topic: what it found was a program (TRUE hi-speed navigator ("C:\Program Files\True\hi-Speed Navigator\hi-speed Navigator.exe"))!!! which was installed by True staff when we got the ADSL connection. According to 'Spyware Terminator' this program directed all traffic through a filter proxy server!!!!

    opalhort

    Opalhort,

I don't know either how to hide the pop-up, probably you can't anyway. :o

For the hi-speed navigator, uninstall that thing. You do not really need it. It caused me some problems on my computer at home as well (it's install wizard suddenly popped up when I opened other programs). Since I got rid of it, everything is fine. :D

  7. I will only be in BKK for 5 days and I wish to tailor make my suit on my first day there and hopefully I will pick up my suit by the 4th day. Is it possible or I am asking for an impossible mission here? I think I need 2 at the moment.

Once again, thanks to you lots!! :D:o

If you go there on your first day, you should be fine. :D

    Cheers,

    crockett

  8. You will find tailors after tailors in the small sois on lower Sukhumvit.

As for me, I always use Jim's Collection in Sukhumvit Soi 8.

Prices depend on the materials, in general you get what you pay for. A good quality

suit should be around 7,000 Baht.
