  1. No its not a fact you are simply wrong. If you have a tourist visa the airline still needs to see your onward ticket as the visa is only valid for 60 or 90 days if you extend it. So im always asked on every occasion to show my onward fly ticket when checking in. You are also wrong on it being rare for immigration to ask for an onward fly ticket as I personally know many people this has happened to.
  2. Not completely different at all. You ignored me because you are not able to admit when you are wrong on occasion. Its your posts on the subject that are incorrect and that's a fact not an opinion. You need an onward flight ticket it really isn't that difficult. Seems like you have a good knowledge about visas from your posts im not disputing your knowledge on visas. However on this occasion you are wrong regarding the simple requirement to show an onward ticket to the airline and to immigration if requested. When you post incorrect information like this its giving people problems when they go to check in at the airport.
  3. You done the same thing in this previous thread to all my posts using the laughing emoji. You can't blame someone for using the laughing the emoji when you repeatedly done it yourself to my posts in the other thread.
  4. Would it not make more sense to have a simple onward fly ticket which is cheap or free if you purchase fully refundable ticket. It makes no sense to give yourself the hassle of purchasing an onward ticket at an airport when you have limited time or giving yourself the trouble of speaking to a manager. Its really not that difficult and simple just have the onward ticket to begin with.
  5. Traveling without an onward fly ticket is just silly when the airline requires it considering how cheap onward fly tickets are. Actually you can do it for free you just pay more to book a fully refundable flight which I’ve done before than cancel the flight when you get to Thailand. When the check in desks tell you you need an onward ticket most people don’t want the bother and time of doing this as sometimes it can take 2 attempts to go through. Its poor planning not to already have something planned in advance before the airline tells you you need it.
  6. Why would you want to buy a ticket on the spot and waste time at an airport when you could already have done so for around $10? Airlines are not wrong to ask for it its them that have to foot the bill if immigration sends the person back to their home country. You don't believe me that immigration ask for it that's up to you. You can't help someone who's not prepared to listen or take advice. Its pretty normal for immigration to ask someones who's had multiple visas over several years for an onward fly ticket and 20,000 baht in cash or the equivalent.
  7. That’s not correct I’ve been asked for an onward fly ticket from both the airline and also from immigration in the past with a valid visa. Im not saying you were asked but this is from personal experience. Just because you weren’t asked for it does not mean someone else won’t. It really is up to the airline and the immigration officer in Thailand to make the final decision. It seems very silly not to have an onward fly ticket when you can get 1 for as little as $10. It has nothing to do with your embassy in your own country giving you a visa as they don’t make the final decision to grant you entry it’s the immigration officer in Thailand which has this say that’s what you don’t understand. It seems incredibly stupid to risk so much money and time getting there in the 1st place only to get denied entry when an onward ticket is so cheap. Why take the risk?
  8. Not true when I fly to Thailand I always have a tourist visa in my passport but I only ever book a 1 way ticket to Thailand due to it being uncertain what my next destination is or when I will return to the UK. The airline always asks me do I have an onward ticket to ensure im not overstaying the length of my visa. The airline is responsible as if someone gets denied entry in Bangkok due to not having an onward flight ticket then its the airline who gets fined. Having a visa doesn't guarantee entry to Thailand the final decision rests with the immigration officer in Thailand stamping you entry into the country not with the consulate in your home country who gave you the visa.
  9. Not true you will still need to show an onward fly ticket to the airline before the date of your visa expires.
  10. Technically yes. However I talked to an agent a number of months back about this and he said it’s not advisable as technically your supposed to be studying not traveling. So he advised against it.
  11. Have considered these visas before. The main issue with this visa for me is that I will have to go back to the Uk after 3 months due to personal reasons. Then when you leave Thailand after 3 months the education visa then becomes void. So is only worth it if you know you are staying for at least 6 months to 1 year.
  12. Thanks Tim yes I believe the Malaysia or Nong khai land border is my best option. Ive never done the Malaysia land border before only the Nong khai
  13. Regarding the visa I will apply for the visa from the Thai embassy London on the evisa website I think that will be more convenient than going to another embassy in Asia. Yes that’s what I was thinking starting of in Saigon. Then I could either do the Saigon to chiang Mai flight as you suggested. Or alternatively perhaps I could fly from Saigon to Vientiane then cross at the Nong khai land border. Just not sure which 1 offers better chance of success the Chiangmai route or the Nong Khai land border route. Yes that was also in my thoughts aswell if I got denied for too many visas I would rather be sent to another neighboring Asian country nearby than to be sent back to Uk. So I guess flying to another Asian country helps with this.
  14. Usually i do spend time outside of Thailand to give myself more chance of getting in. However on this occasion circumstances I don’t want to get into here dictate I need to go back next month. So I’m wondering which Thailand entry point offers the best chance of success. The Nong khai land border perhaps?
  15. Hi, I am 30 years old from the Uk and have been on an stv visa for the past 9 months.I also have multiple long term entries to Thailand over a 5 or 6 year period. I have just left Thailand but plan to come back next month. I am currently back in the Uk. I need to come back to see my girlfriend. I reliase my chances of successfully entering again are uncertain considering I’ve been in Thailand for 9 months straight. So it doesn’t look great coming back so soon after staying for 9 straight months. The problem is the visa options for my age group are very limited. Im not even sure if I will be applying for a tourist visa for next month or an stv visa as don’t know if the stv visa will be continued. Im concerned immigration will think I’ve too many visas and too short a time frame to let me in again so soon. Is there any advice anyone can give to maximize my entry success. would I have a better chance of entry by flying to another Asian country 1st then attempting to enter via the Nong Khai land border? Or perhaps there is another airport instead of Bangkok who don’t worry about someone with a long visa history. A new passport could possibly help also but not sure as all my entries will be in the system anyway so not sure if it’s worthwhile getting a clean passport. Any advise is appreciated.
  16. I submitted all my documents for Thailand pass 2 weeks ago and status is still reviewing. Ive contacted all the numbers available and email address but noone answers or replys. It seems the embassy is also unable to help as the Thailand pass is managed by the central authorities in Thailand. My flight is in a few days time and it’s impossible to contact any of the Thailand pass team for help with this or even to get an update on my application. I don’t have time to wait until the last moment to find out if the application will be accepted as I need to change the flights to a later date. It will take me a long time to change the flights to a later date as the airline has removed the option of changing your flights online. Therefore in order to change my flight I have to call a number of which there is an extremely long wait time for. The hotel is non refundable but date changes are permitted. Does anyone know how long applications have been taking at present as I’m very concerned? It may be better for me to cancel the flights and hotel for a couple of months and wait until the omicron outbreak and issues with the Thailand pass system are resolved. Rather than hoping my application is approved at the last minute.
  17. Is there any third parties who will do the thai pass Application for me? Please pm me if you know of any reliable company who will do this
  18. Did anybody try to scan their own qr codes using a scanning application? When scan my 1st dose its showing unrecognised but the 2nd dose is working fine and recognized. Is it normal for only the 2nd dose to scan correctly? Can someone recommend a program i can use to convert pdf to jpeg? Also how to cut the qr code out in order to upload it is there another program for that reccomemded? I dont know how they can expect anyone not technically gifted with computers to do any of this.
  19. Please stop it that’s just silly they certainly won’t enjoy their holiday. What makes you think they will be out soon I thought the isolation period was 10 or 14 days? They will most likely be flying home after their isolation period to go back to work. You mentioned treatment earlier in the thread there is no evidence wheather they need treatment or not most people do not. There’s absolutely no reason why they shouldn’t be allowed to isolate in their hotel room.
  20. Thank you for this link that’s helped me. Seems like you do have to pay for the 2nd test for Phuket.
  21. Where do you see this please? Media outlets were reporting it that the Phuket sandbox 2nd test was also free.
  22. I have contacted the hotel and they have confirmed to me that the 2nd test is free. They dont understand why the system wont let me proceed without paying for the 2nd RT-PCR test.
  23. This is what was announced on the 21st December: So despite this announcement below they are still continuing to charge for it. Visitors entering under the Test & Go and Sandbox must undergo two RT-PCR tests. The costs for the additional test will be covered by the government.
  24. Hi, Im trying to book the tests for the Phuket sandbox. The government announced 2 days ago that you would do a pcr test on arrival at the airport then another PCR test 4 days later at another location but the cost of the 2nd test would be covered by the government for free. On the website where you book the tests i select the 1st test at Phuket airport then i have to select the 2nd test before i proceed to the next step. When i select the 2nd test the system is charging you for the second test at 2100 baht plus 2100 baht for the first test total of 4200 baht. Does anybody know why is the system still charging for the 2nd test despite the announcement by the government 2 days ago that the 2nd test was supposed to be free?
