  1. I recently rented a large and very smart apartment for 6 weeks whilst i had my house renovated.

It was very nice, large room with wireless Internet, hot shower ect..

It was on 3rd road near the Snooker place and the Car wash, past Pattayaklang.

The rent was 6 Thousand Baht a Month, and when i checked out after 6 weeks, my electric bill was 60 bt lol.

Extremely nice people who owned the place (Thai)

Please PM me if you want anymore details.

  2. Thank you to everyone, the search is over.

I bought my kitchen weigh scales and rolling pin from The kitchen furnishings shop adjacent to Foodland, what a great shop inside. Looks expensive from the outside, but similar to the upstairs in Friendship when you go in.

Prices are very reasonable, the scales were only 300 bt.

OK, off to do some baking :)

Can I put in an order for a dozen red velvet cupcakes :)

hahaha, its Cheese & onion Pie today, cakes come later !!!

  4. I recently had my townhouse fully renovated, I was searching for 10 years for a good builder, and finally found one here on thaivisa.com when i did a search for good builders. He has done a fantastic job of my house, no job too small or big, he works alone, long hours every day until he finishes the job. If you want his number, please PM me. Kind regards.

  5. Having lived in Pattaya for the last 10 Years, I have have finally found a very reliable Builder / Roofer.

This Thai Builder recently renovated the whole of my house, he works alone, some days 18 hours a day, and has made a terrific job of my house.

The finished result is like a show house, and i am very very happy with his work.

    His prices are reasonable.

I found him here on Thaivisa.com, after having many 'so called' builders in the past, i was desperate to find a good one - so i gave him a call.

His name is Eck, and if anyone wants his telephone number please PM me.

  6. I also had the True ultra high speed Internet with fiber optics fitted a couple of days ago - free installation - up to now its fantastic, the guy checked the speed it was over 10MB. Loving it !!!

Much much better than the other internet I had previously, and the customer service was awful, i telephone 5 times, and no one came out to help, but they seemed very interested when i went into cancel my package this AM.

  7. This does not affect me, but i did study Thai Language for One Year, and I remember my teacher telling me that, to learn a new Language can sometimes take up to 15 Years especialy if it is not ABC..

There was a Guy in my class, was also studying for a good few months, he had no idea whatsoever, it is like it went in one ear and out of the other straight away.

Some people find it easy to learn and some others find it extremely difficult.

Whilst I agree that some students do not attend school, i feel sorry for the slow learners who get tested at immigration and do attend class and may fail, i feel sorry for them, it must be very worrying for them.

  8. I dont think they will allow iyou to change your address as they will want to know if you are a no longer resident in the UK.

If you are a non resident they will not allow you to open an account

I do not want to open an Account, I already have one for over 20 Years.

I just wanted to know if i can change my address on my account to be Thailand even though i am still a UK citizen, retired in Thailand.

  9. Thanks for that, i was wondering if Barclays will actualy allow it.

The suspending of Cards, I have had this problem for 10 years until a few months ago, i noticed on there online banking website, that you can actualy fill in your details for up to 90 days abroad, and when the time runs out , you can keep on doing it, this saves having to ring them to take the block off the card... very handy.

I still am not sure if they will allow me to change all my address details to my Thailand address,, with it being a UK Barclays account.

  10. I mostly use Soi Nernplubwan Animal Hospital, they are OK.

One small problem, took my Siamese Cat to be Neutered a Month ago, he never goes out of the house, but i still had to get him done so he wont smell. The animal on the table before him was a filthy skin bitten bald Soi Dog. (some farang felt sorry for it so paid for it to be spayed)

The assistant lifted my Cat up by his neck, now a Month later, my Cat has a very bad Ringworm all around his neck. Its disgusting and now, i am gonna have a right job getting rid of this very infectious germ.
