  1. About 7 Years ago, I went stone deaf in one ear, went along to Banglamung Hospital, they syringed warm water into my ears, and then I had to tilt my head over a bowl for it all to run out, the bowl was pretty full of earwax when finished.

The total bill was 200bt and I have never had any problems since.

As the nurse was syringing the warm water into my ears, it felt pretty good actually, i could have fallen asleep ha ha.

Like I say, this was 7 years ago, maybe they have a machine nowadays, but nevertheless, it sorted my problem out and i was glad i never went to the other Hospitals, as it would have probably cost me a fortune.

    Good luck with it Jing.

  2. I had these termites behind my red wood skirting boards in my bedroom, i could here them through the night, they kept me awake, like a buzzing noise.. When we ripped the skirting boards off, there was Millions of them, i repeat absolute millions, they got into my wardrobe and ruined some of my things as well. We got rid of the wood in the end, not seen any since.

  3. I use to frequent Neeroy's quite often. Did not like his Indian style food, it was tasteless, I use to eat the Fish & Chips, and enjoyed them, but not been for such a long time, maybe it has changed.

I did have his Mince & mash one time and was stuck on the toilet for days after, it kinda put me off the place.

However, Seasider restaurant up the Soi I always find to be OK and have never been sick from eating there in 10 Years.

  4. I bought a 3 bed Townhouse Central Pattaya nearly 10 Years ago, 800 thousand Baht. Spent 200 thousand on it, so it stands me at One Million.

I have no regrets as I would have spent a lot on rent over the last 10 years, and I have never any worries of paying rent.

Buying is ok if you plan to stay long term.

  5. Best place to buy Beef in Pattaya - The fresh food market down soi Nernlpubwan, the Beef is the very best I have had in 10 Years of living here.. and a lot cheaper than the Butcher's in foodland and all the other supermarkets.

  6. The water throwing is pretty bearable, but when you are thrown chunks of ice whilst trying to ride a motorcycle is pretty dangerous i say !!

Looking forward to the 20th, after 10 years of getting soaked, with white powder stuck inside my ears, eyes and nose, i think i might stay dry this year and stay home.

  7. I would just like to add to this thread something that may be helpful. I have lived in Thailand for nearly 10 Years, every 3 months my UK bank use to put a block on my card because i was withdrawing from Thailand.

I had to keep telephoning them quite frequently which was inconvenient and also costly.

A couple of years ago, I noticed that I can now inform my UK Bank on my internet banking online, I can set it every 90 days which is very handy for me and saves expensive phone calls...... Hope this helps !!!

  8. Well I might stick with my TOT internet for the moment, i pay 856 bt per Month and am allowed 300 baht worth of telephone calls in with that deal. I have had no problems with them for the two years I have had it, and its never gone off for more than over 2 hours...... but the sophon is handy to know for future reference. Thank you.

  9. Well if i decided to give a donation to the Dog shelter, I certainly would not give cash, I would go and buy a load of tins of food with the money and take them, that way, you know that the actual animals will get it then.

    This is Thailand.

  10. Most 7.11 shops are grateful for all loose change, I always have loads and bag it up into 100bt bags each year - they will check it and then give you the notes back. My local Banks refused to take it.

  11. This German Man deserves to get deported and Banned from ever entering the Kingdom again, and also banned in his home Country from ever owning a gun, for what he has done.

It's bad enough killing someone's pet Dog, but just think if there were little children playing nearby, I dread to think what may have happened.

Playing with guns is no Joke.

  12. Is this the same guy who some poster said threatened to kill her cat because it would sometimes walk on his car?

We get some real loonies here in Pattaya.

No it's not the same Guy thank goodness.

My neighbor has cooled off now fortunately, My cat does not go near his car anymore.

  13. I have been surrounded with noisy Bars and poor looking Karaoke Bars since I moved into my House 9 Years ago.

They come and they go, and then another one comes.

At the beginning, someone in my Soi use to call the Police if the loud music went on past 2am, and the Police use to go, and it was lowered.

A Farang guy in my Soi complained a couple of Months ago, and this Thai guy got a gun out and said he was the Police and was the owner. The Farang moved out, never to be seen again, I think he was petrified.

Myself, I guess after 9 years I am use to it. My little tip - get your bolster pillow and lay it over your ear so its not as loud, as your trying to sleep.

Good luck with it, I am sure you will get use to it in time.

  14. A friend of mine will be taking there Driving Test very soon and is wanting to buy the Highway Code book in English.

They have tried 3 bookshops in Pattaya so far with no luck.

Any help please would be greatly appreciated.

  15. Well if his pipes are blocked, can it not be Rodded.

My bunglalow in the UK drains use to block frequently, I had several sets of Drain rods.

I wonder if they do sell them in Thailand ?

Anything is better than digging up the floor, surely, its worth a try.
