  1. I heard news that suan lum was supposed to be closed on the 31st of March. I drove by today and noticed that the ferris wheel was still running and lights were still on..so is it closed.?!

  2. Tailors rearguard all fronts of Bangkok! But there are some reputable ones that should be mentioned.

The tailor that I use is Crown Tailors down in sukhumvit soi 8.

Rajawongse in soi 4 gets good reviews too, so could be worth a visit.

Walk around to the recommended tailors, see their prices, sales pitch and "non pushy" buying pitch and buy from the shop you feel secure and happy with.

  3. Unless you are gonna pay a HUGE price ... you'll want to find a local taxi driver at each starting point. When I was living out near Seacon and going to Asoke every day I had a taxi driver from my soi take me every morning to Onnut BTS. (since I didn't always go str8 home I just arranged one way ... but could always get a taxi at Lotus Onnut to get home)

You'd probably have to just pick up one taxi meter after another and ask for them to do that. I'm sure at least one of them will agree to do so.

  4. You wanted tailor suggestions. These are fairly close to one another:

Rajas in soi 4 as mentioned, Rajawongse on the main road of soi 4 as well, and Crown in soi 8.

Go in, browse, choose what you like dont like, price structure etc etc, then make your pick. You wanted suggestions, i gave you three fairly close to one another for you to choose from.

  5. yes pretty much all of the photo processing shops will do passport photos

Agree. Any of the photo shops on sukhumvit will be able to do it for you. They'll give you 6 for one price and 12 for another.

  6. I'd say it would be considered the success of the marketing of the EPL as the 'premier' soccer league in the world.

The other leagues that compete are the Italian, which has been on the wane for a while, and the Spanish, which is the major competitor right now.

Americans probably know better than anyone how to make money out of sports, and, with the EPL brand becoming more internationally recognised, the time is right to get a stake in the game.

The only 'cloud' in this has to be that these people are in it to make money, not to support the 'beautiful game'. I don't think it 's the same attitide as Abramovich at Chelsea.

Still, it's great for the EPL, and we can expect the stakes to be upped in next seasons championship. Will the less monied clubs be able to compete?

Bolton, Porthsmouth with not as big money bags are able to so far. But yes, I question the ability of clubs that don't have money to be able to compete with these big clubs with money as well. It will be true that it will get better for most viewers since the top teams will get better and games featuring top teams VS top teams will be more fun (actually, not necessarily, but should be). Lets just hope the likes of Bolton, Spurs, Villa etc will be able to keep up with the money bags!
