  1. Their costs have gone way up and the fares have not. Since the fuel has gone up...

Correct me if I am wrong, but Bangkok taxi's run on natural gas.

yeap, most taxi's do run on natural gas and not fuel. Btw, out of topic, but has anyone noticed the increase in women taxi drivers of late? Or is it just my eyes..

  2. I am going on vacation for 16 days very soon and i have a 2 month old kitten. I could get someone to come into my apartment to feed her everyday but im worried she will get bored and lonely on her own. I think i prefer to leave her at a good cattery or pet hotel.

I would like to find one where perhaps the staff will spend some time giving her the attention she deserves. If someone could let me know of such a place i would be extremely grateful.

    Thanks

I heard that there's one open in Sukhumvit soi 39 at the back. A place called "Ozone" or something like that. Never been there myself but if anyone can confirm these reports, then you got yourself a place.

  3. Yea Barney, I seen that too. Weird. I'm sure that it got above 50 when I was watching it. I had a double take (as it was quite far away) before I realised what was happening. As you say: TIT.

its actually happend in alot of places. Loads of the traffic lights have been giving problems of late.

  4. ive got 2 yr at paragon for 20K baht. i saw a thai paying the same price so i think its a fair deal. i can come at anytime, but i was stupid and should have taken the deal to only come during quiet horus because the place is jam packed during peak hours and i never go during those times anyways, its disgusting.

a friend of mine had his made lifetime for about 30k a while ago. I guess frenchie doesnt really know what hes talking about.

  5. I always make it a point to avoid the older cars.

First choice any solid colours taxi . . orange, pink, blue, green, yellow etc

    Second choice, newer yellow/green mix

Third choice, newer blue / red mix

Hobson's choice . the old ones

i always prefer the solid colour ones too..preferable the pink ones..the ac is always nice and cold!

i dont know how much the prices are, but you can try centre point apartments. they have about 7 different buildings in bangkok each located in different places. Im sure if you google them u'll find out their floor plan and locations..hope it helps:)

  7. You really paid that much for a pair of pants? Was it for the labor and material? The material must have Italian silk. I enjoy picking out my own material in a shop and taking it to a tailor.

that sounds Very expensive for a pair of pants..wow! $175. i guess it must be some italian silk:P!

well i mentioned before but the tailor i use frequently is Crown Tailors in sukhumvit soi 8, make some fantastic suits.

  8. At least you didn't sit waiting for the bloody thing to move for 20 minutes. I once got caught behind three cars as I was driving through a golf course, we sat and sat and sat. In the end my friend who speaks Thai got out and asked what the problem was. A large snake of some sort (pretty fat and about 2 metres long) was laying across the road, nobody was prepared to run it over - quite rightly I think, anyway, the snake moved on and still we sat there. Another question was asked and the answer was that no body wanted to be the first to drive over the spot where the snake had been because it was bad luck or something :o . I pulled round the parked cars and drove away. I am a hero and nothing unusually bad has happened. Yet.

    just u wait! hehe :D

  9. andy,

It's nice to know that he'll remember my name. However, what's most important to most of us is his ability to tailor a shirt. Can he do that ,or is his only skill is remembering names?

The latest time i went to him, i think he charged me about $35 a shirt (long sleeve) and it came down to about $30 cuz i bought 7, so i assume a short sleeve one might be a little cheaper? The shirts that i have from him have been through days and months of work and are still in good condition, so i assume its quality is pretty good. Lets just say the stictching is still stiched! hehe

  10. Also Admakers is pretty good. Not sure of the eaxct location. Always pissed when i'm there. Maybe someone else can help?

Admakers is awesome. Its located on Lang Suan road. Once ure on that road, you can always ask around.
