Except there are zero reports of blood clots being abnormally high and zero evidence of any vaccine encouraging blood clots.Delaying vaccinations will directly and indirectly cost lives.

thank you and this is correct the medical doctors know this,  you should sent this notice to publish in Bangkok post so the stupid crowd stopping the vaccine can read it

The way this is going, I doubt us foreigners will get our initial 'free' shot until 2023.

at this rate Thailand will never recover. The blood clot issue has already  been investigate in England and America only 13 people who got vaccinated out of 100k  had this issue they also had other health problems there is no reason to stop people from been vaccinated.

Thai Families Can Grow Six Pots of Cannabis Each as Rules Eased

    • Family communities to supply marijuana to medical institutions

    • Recreational use remains banned as users face fines or jail

Thai households can now grow six pots of cannabis each to supplement their income, the nation’s health minister said, as the first country in the region to legalize medical marijuana further eased rules to promote the crop’s commercial use.

Families may form communities to grow marijuana and supply the crop to public hospitals and state facilities, or use them to make food and cosmetic products as a fresh revenue source, Thailand’s Deputy Premier and Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said in a statement Friday.

“Marijuana and hemp are both economic crops and it provides a new option for locals to generate revenue,” Anutin said at a marijuana educational expo at Buriram, 400 kilometers northeast of Bangkok. “We are trying to ease restrictions to allow the public easier access to the plant, but please cooperate and use it correctly.”

That sounds great, a long term plan is in place and we should expect things to return to normal within the next 2 to 3 years.

much sooner if they do it, right this time next year Thailand will be back up to 80% and they should malefactor the vaccine so as to have supply's just sign contract  with company's

Thai government to purchase a further 35 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines

    ggs.jpg

    Picture: Daily News

The Thai Cabinet on Tuesday approved the purchase of another 35 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

The government has  set aside a budget of 6.387 billion Baht for the purchase, government spokesperson Anucha Buropchaisri told Daily News.

Some 5.6 billion Baht of the budget will be used to purchase the AstraZeneca made vaccine, while 700 million Baht will be set aside for management and distribution of rollout of  the vaccine.

The new batch will be used alongside the 26 million doses of the AstraZeneca  vaccine and the 2 million doses of Sinovac already purchased by the government.

This means Thailand has around 63 million doses of  COVID-19 vaccines, which is enough to vaccinate more than 50 percent of the population.

Meanwhile, the government will continue to source further doses of the vaccine, Mr Anucha said.

The news comes as the Thai government announced on Tuesday that members of the public will be able to register to receive the vaccine from early May, before the government’s vaccination drive which is set to begin in June.

Previously, the government had said that everyone in Thailand - including foreign expats - will be eligible to receive the vaccine.

they could get the china or Russian much quicker ans easy payment terms and cheaper? both are over 85% and it has been proven also been available  6 months  any vaccine now will help the recovery.

15 years or so ago I was visiting a friend in the hospital who was on his last legs.  A nurse and I entered the elevator.  I pressed floor 4.  She looked at me and said "I see you" in English.  My brain rattled around what she was saying.....me wondering why she would say something so obvious.  Finally it occurred to me what she really said was "ICU".  And she was right.....floor 4 was the ICU floor.

just like when you order chicken and fried Rice the response chickn and fry lice??

I understand the protective nature of a vaccine.

I was specifically asking about the science, and duration, of the "effect" of a vaccinated person to transmit the virus.

The general assumption seems to be that if you are vaccinated, you are immediately rendered incapable of transmitting the virus, Just asking if this is supported by the science, and if so, for how long?

you are NOT protective in the first 14 day and science has done the study and research.it is publish

  9. 7 minutes ago, mtls2005 said:

So the "science" says that a vaccinated person cannot spread the virus? Is that what people are saying?

And this "effect" lasts for how long, exactly?

sorry but within 14days after receiving the first vaccine you can spread and catch covid-19 by the 31 day you are more protected. up 46% now when you get the second Jab you body system with 10  days you will be over 90% protected now the only issue is how long maybe years?

Thailand says nears vaccine passport, hopes to welcome tourists in third quarter

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thai authorities are preparing a plan to ease restrictions for travellers vaccinated against the coronavirus, senior officials said on Wednesday, as the country looks to revive a tourism industry battered by travel curbs.

Measures for vaccinated visitors would be introduced step-by-step and could include shortening the mandatory quarantine for all arrivals from two weeks to three days for those vaccinated, or waiving it entirely, Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor (TAT) Yuthasak Supasorn said.

“We have to be fast because we want to start welcoming tourists in the third quarter,” he told Reuters.

The TAT plans to begin selling tour packages after April.

The tourism ministry has also requested 100,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine for tourism workers in Chon Buri, Krabi, Phang Nga, Chiang Mai and Phuket.

The five provinces will from next month host “hotel area quarantine” programmes offering 5,000 to 6,000 rooms, where visitors can move around within hotel grounds instead of being confined to their rooms, according to tourism minister, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn.

The global vaccine rollout has given hope to the pandemic-hit industry, which makes up about 11% of Southeast Asia’s second-largest economy.

In 2019, Thailand received about 40 million foreign tourists, who spent 1.91 trillion baht ($63.60 billion).

That compared to just 6.7 million visitors last year and revenue of 332 billion baht, due largely to Thailand’s tight limits on international commercial flights and visitors.

Since October it has allowed a limited number of tourists to return on long visas, including a group from South Korea for a new “golf quarantine” programme.

“This year, we expect about five million visitors, but next year it should jump because the vaccine will have helped, maybe 15 million,” Phiphat told state television.

Arrivals could reach 30 million in 2023 and return to pre-pandemic levels the year after, he said.

Thailand on Wednesday received its first 200,000 doses coronavirus vaccines.

Chiang Mai ATM theft: Professional thieves have tried tricks to deceive Thai police

    6pm.jpg

    Picture: Sanook

Sanook followed up on the theft of 2.1 million baht from an ATM in Jom Thong, Chiang Mai.

At least two thieves cut their way into the back of an ATM at the now closed SCB branch, footprints at the scene showed.

Jom Thong chief Pol Col Chatwarin Bunnak held a meeting with provincial police.

Latest developments were that a black car had been circling in the area and that bank staff putting money in the ATMs - 6 million in two machines - had been watched.

Police said it was well planned and professional.

Now it has energed that the thieves used the FRONT door of the bank to gain entry. They made it look like they had got in via the back to put investigators off the scent.

Also the thieves took CCTV cameras hidden inside the room where the ATMs were located.

Without elaborating further the police said they were confident of quick warrants and arrests.

Thaivisa notes that although Sanook did not speculate further it appeared to suggest that an insider or someone with insider knowledge may be behind the heist.

I wonder how long it takes to get a CoE at the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles. I read that in some of the countries it sometimes take just a few hours to get a CoE.  However when I call the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles, they tell me it takes over 3 weeks (but they also told me a lot of BS, so I have 0 confidence in the information that they tell me).

I am interested in two cases:

    1. if applying for a CoE with visa exemption.
    2. if applying for a CoE assuming that a tourist visa have already been issued just before applying for the CoE.

with,in 2 weeks if you fill out and send by internet so  if you have all docs ready all will be done up to you get organize

Pattaya: Mayor opens some more floodgates - but still praises his improved drainage system

    Picture Manager

Pattaya's embattled mayor Sontaya Khunpluem told Manager after the devastating floods on Wednesday that his system was working but he promised to open a few more floodgates.

Just an hour of rain on Wednesday afternoon left great swathes of the resort under water including Beach Road.

This left many to say what about all the drainage work that has been carried out from the Dusit Thani to Walking Street.

    Picture Manager

Mayor Sontaya had a ready answer - he blamed Soi 5.

There was a lot of water, he said, running off from the upper areas of Pattaya and what with Soi 5 being low lying it was unable to cope.

    10pm2.jpg

He promised some adjustments to the points along beach road and in Soi 5 so that it will work better in future, especially with the rainy season not too far away on the horizon.

He still asked Manager to believe that his system was working however.

Look how quickly the water subsided, he offered.

In fairness, it is worth looking at the report more closely:
YES nearly all vaccines are OK it better to give the people something that will help then doing nothing like now in SA

"Because there is no established benchmark yet to determine what level of antibodies are needed to protect against the virus, it is unclear whether that two-thirds reduction will render the vaccine ineffective against the variant spreading around the world."

i.e. if the vaccine produces ten times more antibodies than are needed, a two third reduction is not an issue.
