  1. "Normal" Thai savings accounts and similar, held in foreigners' names, i.e. not "Non-Resident Baht Accounts" are covered by the DPA.
  2. I don't think that'll fly, he could have asked for asylum 993 days ago. Or maybe he just forgot that he needed asylum?
  3. You're right, money cannot be lost just by answering a phone call alone unless the recipient sends them money or reacts the way they want by following instructions from complete strangers.
  4. The country code that is displayed on the scam calls is not where the call originates so checking its location is pointless. Those calls should just be rejected without answering, no one needs to answer calls from countries and numbers that they have no connection with.
  5. I've had one bank account open for over 20 years, and just using online password and PIN number, I've never had a problem with security. Nor have I ever had a problem with security with my brokerage account, or my other bank account, or my credit card account with the same security measures. And just to be clear, there is no security involved here because I'm not wanting to transfer any money at all. All I'm wanting is access is the financial information in order to file my (foreign) taxes and report correct income and balances. So, yes, believing that adding a OTP is to your accounts is going to protect you is naïve. But you, ridiculously, stated that it the security measures were "childishness", that is what I reacted to, nothing more, yet you don't address that!
  6. What are the chances someone that swears they know something they can't know is going to pay a bet? I've no idea but I'm sure that if you did accept his wager he would trust you implicitly to pay up despite your self-doubt.
  7. Did True already have equipment in the condo building (usually a cabinet in the basement or communications room), or did they run a separate cable from the street just for you to your room? I was having internet connection issues with the "traditional" True system that was an independent installation that I originally applied for directly to True through one of their shops. It was replaced with the fibre version and neither installation involved the condo management at any stage. I do not know whether True had equipment in the building already but there was never any suggestion to me that they did and I didn't quiz them about the forensics of their installation.
  8. Same here when i got 1gb from 3BB. I paid for the wiring to my condo. True was a problem when i asked they wouldn't wire a condo above the 3rd floor. My high floor fibre installation was no issue for True.
  9. The photographs provide a pretty reasonable indication of what happened. I know, I'm not disputing the obvious, I've been posting that the bike very obviously hit the back of the truck, not the side but the obvious won't stop any of us from going on about it all night!
  10. You've already admitted you don't know. That's why he said it would be a wager.
  11. A Honda Wave can travel way faster than the speed needed for a head to mash up when hitting the back of an almost stationary container truck.
  12. Which proves you don't know. No one here knows but let's keep banging on about it and sniping at each other as if we do!
  13. The bike hit the rear of the truck, not the left hand side that's why the bike and the body are directly behind the truck, not alongside it.
  14. Not necessarily, the True fibre internet in my condo was installed at my request directly to True, the condo managementwas not involved at all.
  15. If things didn't work out, why would his wife need to sell her house? That aside, why would it not be possible to sell the land and house?
  16. Not so simple, there's tens of taxis there, they don't leave one at a time and the meters cannot be on until the taxi is about to move off. Who gets into a taxi with a meter that's already running and showing flag fall and waiting time?
  17. It's ok, there's so much hearsay posted here that yours won't make any difference!
  18. A haughty sneer with a facial expression as though they've just put their finger through the toilet paper!
  19. It wasn't me, it was reported on a news service. The way that you wrote it ("I can recall" and all the specifics) could only be interpreted as your reporting your own experience... "Best I can recall was the taxi driver who could speak some English, half way swampy to the city said 'please show me the taxi card you received at the airport, see, it says 50Baht for airport taxi service, it's a printing error, it's actually 500Baht'."
  20. He didn't hide the "tariff card" (there's a photo of it taken by the passenger), the problem is that there is no "tariff card", there's a meter!
  21. There was no suggestion in the link of a heart attack being the cause.
  22. That's completely wrong, foreigners are not "the problem" as the majority of prostitution in Thailand is driven by Thai men.
