  1. Thanks Doc N

What? It took someone six posts, to make a remark about "the reds" obscuring justice in Thailand?

    Way too long! coffee1.gif

I was rather stunned it took so long .... a lot of people here are slipping up, or perhaps that man in Dubai has got to them - perhaps now they are deep in his pockets and never coming up again ..... biggrin.png

Time for lunch kids, gotta go

Wouldn't it be amazing if the expats on Thaivisa could be neutral about politics in a country that is not their own. Should they look closely they will no doubt find their homeland is equally corrupt but just not so apparent.

Of course if you do not like aforementioned politics you could go live elsewhere, I'm sure you would be posting the same crap on expat forums about your new home within weeks. If fact you could return to your own country where you wouldn't get laid without large payments, probably be beaten up if you treated those ladies as you do Thai ladies, be unable to afford to drink like you do here, oh & find your meager pension means your as poor as a rice farmer.

If some Thai went to your country & started ripping it to pieces you would be up in arms about what a cheek they have, same applies here.

And guess what, you won't even be missed except by those normal Thaivisa readers who won't have to trawl through your crap comments to find sensible ones.

I have seen this said many times here and i always cringe.. a poster here DOCn said something like check in at immigration.leave your free thinking behind, your opinions, your character...whatever... he said it much better than me.This if you dont like it go home S**** leaves me cold.Do you like dogs barking at 4 in the morning? The noise here?the double pricing?Of course not.Just better not to say anything?Maybe thats your style.people here with open minds on an open forum allowed to express themselves.I criticise many countries, systems,I was educated as a free thinker.Maybe you are from North Korea .just a guess..

  2. I digress, what can you do with these pervs. I dare not post my thoughts, though someone will say he had a dodgy childhood. Many of us did but thats where it ends. sad.png

I will post my thoughts. In the event someone is found guilty ofchild abuse they should be exterminated. They serve no value to society and do not deserve to have oxygen, food or water wasted on them.. The same applies to those who rape, and those who pour petrol on their wives/husbands and set them alight.

SOme say such sentances are barbaric, I suggest spending money keeping such animals alive is barbaric, when the poor pay taxes to keep them alive.

This is a general comment, and not specific to the person involved in the original post as he is yet to be proved innocent or guilty.

    should be a social worker

  3. My situation.I have worked 4 years in a college,(no degree),diploma and tesol cert...Received 2 back to back waivers from Krusapa in Bkk..2nd on completion of culture course..I have now moved to Udon and have been offered an english teaching job.I did read somewhere that if the school applies for a wp as me being a paid volunteer,working(18 hours???)then i have no need of a waiver to get visa and wp.can anyone please clarify for me..thank you in advance.Thomas..

  4. 'These green boxes will be installed at the residences of MPs, senators,

Bangkok councillors, Privy councillors and other important personalities

living in the capital and will be monitored by city police to ensure

security in and around the area.

"These boxes will also be used to receive complaints from people," Aswin said.'

I don't understand this. I understand that they are also for complaints but what's the first reason for these green boxes?

'MPs, senators, Bangkok councillors, Privy councillors'

These I understand but who are 'important personalities'?

As for 5 metres away from pedestrian walkways. Is that even possible?

I think the green boxes are ridicules all they are good for is pointng out public figures. that way the red shirt leaders will not have to pass out addressees with their phone numbers.

Besides if I want to complain against the Amnesty idea what good would my suggestion do in a green box on a city council members lawn?

the green boxes will not only increase security, but, increase exports, bring more tourists, and solve all the political problems in Thailand.IMO

  5. Have no factual info on the ladies complaint, but it does seem that the BIB are not real sympithic toward foreign complaints against local talent in this regard. It would appear the witnesses that are referred to saw nothing, so why they are even called witnesses by the police is beyond me.

yes but they have an excellent witness..Noi the neighbour..Who heard a drunken scotttish woman yelling and she understood all of this when it woke her at 5am..Need I say anymore.....I barely understand Scots when they are sober and rational...see you Jimmy...

  6. Be grateful for any advice..I am travelling to Pranburi..Sam Roi Yot for a month in March..A Thai friend told me that many of the beaches here have been polluted by some local factory...Any one heard any such news or any more information.Would be great to hear from someone who lives down there. .thank You In advance....Thomas

  7. Thai teacher salaries are crap. I don't blame them too much for having a job on the side, streaming in some cash from another source such as sales. Just keep it away from students. They should not be clients. Seems like common sense, but to use the tired phrase, "This is Thailand."The flip side of this coin is this. Thai teachers go above and beyond in certain aspects of the job that a Westerner would balk at. At my former Thai school (K-M6), Thai teachers practiced on their own time for a massive celebration for the school principal. Hours of dance rehearsals, singing practice, comedy skits. You name it. They did it. In order to get funds for the show, they sold homemade food items on the school grounds, and naturally the students were the likely customers. It was odd. Of course to attend the production was free, but students shelled out money for goods so teachers could have enough money for make-up, costumes, props, etc...Just my 2 baht. Thanks for reading.

Here we go again Poor old Thai teachers, hard done by.Thai Government teachers are on very good money compared to most Thai’s, ask a government teacher what their salaries are before stoppages for all the loans they have taken out.In the large increase they got a few years ago it was meant to be linked to productivity but alas the later never happened.Plus they get a review twice a year which can up their salary 2% each review. That was probably why they were so keen on doing so much for the director’s party. Trying to get up a rung on the crawling ladder. It’s a job you cannot get fired from either. My Ex’s salary was just under 33K per month after loans were taken out she walks away with 14K per month.Check it out please before lending a shoulder for a poor old Thai teacher has such a rough job.Your mail even brought tears to my eyes sad.png

Spot on..the Thai teachers are eager to complete the paper chase to exaggerate their teaching abilities and increase salaries...however when most of these face something not easily cheated ie. an online toefl test for teachers of English they fall woefully short of the mark..I will also add that on completing a culture course 2 years ago many of the 'native speakers'there were incomprehensible..Instead of all this Thai teachers license game they should start with a sound 'English test'for teachers of English here..then carefully monitor the teachers product and delivery.

  8. Kuhn ChiangMai -- I just noticed your comment #132 What's your problem?

A Thai female who does not speak English (which is the only language that concerns me) is less likely to have considered hooking up with a farang than an English-speaking Thai female whether she is a Chula graduate or an airline captain or a bank vice-president.

With a non-English speaking Thai female you may be the first farang she has ever met which brings a whole range of experiences that you will not encounter if someone has decided that are actively seeking a non-Thai companion for whatever reason.

To me my first post #127 was a simple observation utter rubbish, dighead, 'looser' or otherwise.

Mathematically and statistically your statements are incorrect, but it's good to have observations regardless, even if they are the wrong ones.

I work in an office full of Thai women. Some of whom speak really good English, some a little English, a very few (the maids) speak none. Out of all these women I would guess that one or two out of more than 50 have had a romantic relationship with a foreigner

..easy to spot them..the ones wearing all the gold.....

  11. I believe that inheritance tax starts at about 300k pounds sterling 15 million baht or more..and its usually paid on the estate duty before passed on..However if the pillar of the community Mr Tik(alias)said its the case that he hs friend had these problems who am I to doubt it..seems a lot of money to go through in a few months..No?

  12. On a non-B you can still get a 60 day extension and/or ask for an extension based on your marriage directly, as long as you qualify (have 400,000 baht in a bankaccount in thailand for the 1 year extension. Not having a job the income option is out, unless you have income from abroad).

If you want to get a completely new visa becouse you don't meet theese requirements, go to savanakhet for a multiple non-O with marriage papers (khor rhor 3), recent entry from the wedding register (khor rhor 2 form), copy of wife's ID (signed by her), copy of wife's household registration book (signed by her) and a small note from her asking for a visa for you.

You just fill in an application form at the conslate.

thanks for that..but why Savanakhet???????????I live much much nearer to Vientianne..
  13. My apologies I should have said I am non Imm B(based on work) and want to change to Non O(based on marriage)..My worry is if I cross the border and go to make a new visa they will say my current permission to stay has not been cancelled..Or has not been done correctly..Is a visit to the labour office my best course.I also need to know which form to fill in at the Laos consulate to change to non imm O based on marriage..A TM86 change of visa..OR TM87 A normal visa application..c.ould someone post all docs required for Marriage visa also ...many thanks again..Thomas

  14. can someone please advise..I have all the neccessary docs from bangkok, translations etc..My problem is I have a current non imm o from my school from which i have resignedThis visa finishes in April BUT.the immigration told me I need to cancel my current non Imm O and to do this need a letter from My school..I requested this some time ago and it has not been forthecoming since I left my school because of problems with Thai staff.(My Boss)

My question is ..can i still go to Laos and apply for a new NON imm O based on marriage..If my school won't give me a letter or ignore my requests what are my options..many Thanks Thomas....
