  1. Thai Watsadu. Darn. The non heat resistant can claims to etch. Hopefully it will be okay. Thanks for the link. Will order some up for future projects.
  2. Blast it with wd40. & a load of heat first. I used the exact same method. Nut & washer with an old 9mm bushing. Used a G- clamp to push the old bushings out. Once you burn thru the old rubber/plastic. Can knock it out easy enough. If your not worried about the look. Pack that bad boy full of grease. Should be good for years. And yep. Small world. Mrs. Simple want's to make the "bell end" as i call it. Into a sidecar. Mobile selling food machine ????
  3. Sure mate. It's in a can & comes in two flavours. Standard Etch & prime. The other is the same but for hight temp applications. Have not seen it in a tin for spraying. But maybe could find it. Both are about 120tb a can.

  5. Day 06 Tom Foolery. I had a day or two off. To maintain my sanity. Almost all of the first wave of parts have arrived. Hubs got nice new NTN bearings. They were due to be spoked up yesterday. Sadly the fools sent me gay "gold" rims instead of the ones i ordered. I swear to god! i'm done with Lazada! Every other part was ordered from Shoppe! All were correct & came within 3 days. Wen't to town on the yoke & stem. Cleaned to bare metal & painted with zinc acid etch primer. Got the new seat cover on. Not my best work. But looks okay. Almost got tendonitis pulling the large staple gun. It's back in it's home. Probably never to see the light of day again. Etched & heat resistant painted the rear sproket ram plate thingy. Repeated with the rear brake drum cover. The swingarm came out great. Considering the amount of corrosion. Flappled all the straight areas. Then set about it with the dremel with numerous attachments for the hard to reach areas. Etched primed & painted gloss black. Finished it off with Samurai 2K clear spray can. Great stuff! But you have to use it all within a few hours of popping the primer mixer. Pretty exepensive at 230tb per can. Not really worth digging out the comp & spray gun for small items. And then came the forks.... The left side came apart very easily. The disc side was seized. I mean rock solid! Two fricking hours it took to get it apart! All of life's problems can be solved with a blow torch, wd40, pry lever & a hammer! Half the time spent was removing the darn seal without damaging the lower fork. Pistons & guide rods cleaned up & can be reused. No damage to the fork outers. Got them cleaned up & painted with the methods above. Already have the new seals,springs & inners. Just need to wait for the paint to cure & then rebuild. The forks have been the most challenging & pain in the <deleted> job thus far. Such a nice change. With perseverance & beer. It's now behind me. Winning ???? On a happy note. Mrs. Simple used the Jog today for its break-in. Happy to report. Both came, wen't & have survived! Will update this post with pics within the hour. Untill then. It's time for a cold one. Take it easy all & cheers!
  6. Forgot about the instrument panel! Tore it down & tested. lubed up the gears. New puggy bulbs put in. Used a guitar potentiometer to test the fuel gauge. Had to fill/paint the plastic housing. Cables had worn huge gouges in it.
  7. Day 05 Whole lotta love & a boo-boo Today involved alot of old bolt resurrection. Larger random items for rust removal were placed in large ziplock bags. With the rust be gone slime. I'll let them stew for a day or two. See how they turn out. I expect great results. Spent several hours degreasing, sanding & painting the air box. Very sophisticated box for such an old bike. Guess they made an effort back in the day. Ripped off the old seat cover. Cleaned & painted the the plastic base. Cut up some foam to fit the pattern. Waiting for the new cover to arrive. I knew that heavy duty staple gun would pay for itself one day! Tried to remove the brake disc from the old hub before it's binned. Got 3/4 with alot of effort. 8mm allen with three foot of leverage. Last one was boo-boo. Get the dude up the road to weld a bolt on it to remove. Failing that could grind it off. But the disc is in good shape. Don't wan't to risk damage. New one is 240tb. But i wan't to restore/re-use as much as possible. Camera is knackerd. left the batts in. Which leaked. So stuck using Mrs. Jacks. Phone camera. So there won't be step by step pics i'm afraid. Hope a good idea can be got by crappy pics.
  8. Day 04 Rusty Mc Rusterson. Slow day today with the Belle. Been busy finishing off the latest Jog. Jetting & cvt tunning is a pain! Just waiting for orders to arrive & take stock for the Belle. So far 5000Tb deep. (for those taking bets). Will get pics of what you get for that when they all arrive. Gave all the misc rusty bolts a bath of petrol to remove all the crud. Then into this rust remover i found. It's called. Turbro rust remover. This stuff ain't cheap but it is indeed. The dogs! Leave the item submerged overnight in a tupperware box. Bang! Rust be gone. Finish it of with a wire brush or dremel wheel. Very happy with the stuff. I'm a cheap git. So i strain/filter all the grud out to reuse it. Got the old engine oil out the bike. Tomorrow will be a job of heat quenching the bolts ect. To prevent rust. Used this method for many years. Works great. Dug out the Fugifilm camera. Like an <deleted>. I left the battery in. It's Kapaut. In for repair. So ill put up some old pics of the Mrs. Jog 50. Rolling wreck to complete. Take it easy all.
  9. Yea. Thatwas going to be my end-game. It's been donkey years since iv'e messed with spokes. I got a decent pair of rims & hub kit for 1300tb Rear hub is pretty shagged where the sprocket ram plate rubbers were rotted out. Teeth are all rounded & i cant be botherd squaring them up. Would end up with a load of play anyway.

  12. Day 03 Greeks bearing gifts. Quick update. Had deliveries all day. Full plastic kit & front and rear lights 1800Tb. Will pull out the compressor & match 2K paint at a later date. Fork inners. Springs, seals & headset kit arrived. Working on the stem, yoke, fork outers & bars for fututre paint. 1010TBb. Taking the frame/swingarm. And misc items to the local blast & coat shop tomorrow. Don't expect cost to be over 2000Tb. Next job is to tackle the wheels. Hubs are cleaned, sanded & ready to paint. Rims and spokes are junk. New rims on order. 1.40/17" I'm unsure of spoke specs. (can anyone chime in?) Will upload pics shortly. Night always seems to come to soon.

  15. Day 02 The strip. It's been a long <deleted> of day. Hands are dirty with plenty of nicks! Spent around six hours stripping the bike to see what is what. Apart from the usual Tom follery. (previous owner using adjustable spanners instead of sockets) Things are not all that bad. I'll try give a list of whats good/Kaput below. Engine. Gearbox: Gear set & shifting mechanism looks great. No broken or worn out teeth. Bearings are not a big deal. As all will be replaced. Crank: Crank is in good shape. No excessive play on the main bearings or the big end. Both crank ends are in perfect condition. The woodruff key is like new. (so never been rebuilt before). Some seals are kaput & bearings are okay. But all will be replaced. Connecting rod looks fine. But for the price? Better to just go with a new CR kit. Clutch: The plates are pretty burnt/worn out. Basket ect. looks good. No gouging or nicks. Not sure about the spings. Will replace them with the plate kit regardless. Sadly the shifting rod has been bastardized. Outer Teeth are gone. Will need to be replaced. Cases: No major damage. Usual wear and tear. Nothing a dremel, polish, sandbast & powdercoat can't fix. I will replace all the engine bolts with some 6mm Stainless hex-type. As an added bonus. Found where all the oil had come from. Turns out someone lost the drain bolt and washer? So they just fired in something that fit (kinda) without a washer. It never amazes me. 50TB for a bolt. Or keep spending more TB filling with oil when it gets low. T.I.T i guess. Top: Cylinder will need a rebore. Light scoring. Measures out as 103.cc That's good news. Never been re-bored before. Small end is good. Piston is trash. Let the machine shop decide on the re-bore & order over oversized piston as needed. Other than the corrosion. No warpage. Frame. Main: Apart from the rusty Mc. Rusty-ston. It's Straight. All mounting points look good & not cross threaded. Swing arm will need new bushings & chain gaurd. A good blasting and coating will do it good. Fuel tank is in great condition. This was my biggest worry. Very light rust inside. Vineger & baking soda will make short work of that. Suspension. Sus: Front inners are kaput. Replacement inners, springs & seals ordered. Yokes & bars are corroded. But can be restored. The rears Work, but the spings are corroded. YSS replacements are cheap & ordered. Rims, hubs & Breaks. Rims: Rims & spokes are so corroded its cheaper just to replace them. Hubs can be reconditioned & bearings replaced. Rear drum is good. Needs new shoes. Front disc is good & true. Front master cylinder is kaput. Caliper has not been looked at. But havent found a rebuild kit yet. Probably cheaper to replace. Exhaust. EXH: Exhaust is in good shape. Silencer needs a re-pack & over all a good cleaning, grind & repaint. Looked at aftermarket replacements. But none have the mounting point for the rear break lever spring. Plastics, loom & misc. PLM: Plastics are trash. Full set ordered. Thanks to Papa Al. for the links! Loom is in pretty good condition. Apart from the serveral faults i had to fix to make it run. We all love Spaghetti! Conclusion. Iv'e probably missed a few things in this post. But it's late. Will update this post with some pics tomorrow. Mrs. SJ wasn't on camera duty today.   16. Extactly right. ???? Runs off a vacuum petcock. The exact same one as the older Jogs. Binned the original & all the pipes. If age hasn't killed them. The gasohol has.

  18. Day 01 Back story. After finishing my last project. I realised two things. Clean hands with less nick's in them. & idle hands are the devils play things. Well... Technically three things. Which brings us to the latest project. As we all know. Wife's love to eat. Complain about eating, not eating. Or there is nothing new around to eat. So Mrs. S.J. Heard through the grapevine. That a once thriving bar-restaurant up the road. (before restrictions) Was selling Thai BBQ outside. I wasn't thrilled to be honest. But it keeps her happy & i get free BBQ. Now. As we all know. Wife's like to talk. Alot. What should of been a five minute trip. Soon turns out to be a thirty minute saga. After downing my Schweppes Dry Ginger Ale. I found nature calling. They have an out-door <deleted> shack. Nice! While leaving the comfort of the air-con car. Donning My anti Rona mask. I made my way to the hooch. On my way. I noticed. Like everywhere at the moment. They were doing some "Spring"? cleaning. Under a pile of old junk. I spotted something. A glimmer of headlight & handlebars. Allways looking out for old junk to keep me busy. I was intrigued. I asked if i could take a look. Ten minutes later. Removing random junk, under attack by one-million ants. I discovered the Belle. It's a rusted unloved wreck. Never moved much. Let alone run in fifthteen years. Nobody would be interested in this? Well ones man's trash. Is another man's treasure! I managed to drag it out from it's pit of despair . Rotted tires falling off the rusted rims as i wen't. And several failed attemps to place it in neutral later. I noticed it's a Belle-R! Much like the Suzuki RC100. Nice! Turns out to be a much "loved" Yet never maintained family bike. Half an inch of oil gunk covering the engine. Or anywhere-everywhere it could be. Random broken stuff as to be expected. Gave it a few kicks. It has compression! Pulled the plug. Still had the original tool kit under the seat! It has spark! I'm already sold on it. But try to conceal my glee. Mrs. S.J ain't stupid. She runs barter town. And what she bartered? Is anyones guess. Some say she barters in her sleep. And others. On a cold,wet Thai night. You can still hear her Baaarrttaarrr... My Thai is okay. But she was talking in light speed! I imagine like the stereotypical auctioneer. Either way. We walked away with. "tossed" in the back of the pickup. With the Green book for 1000tb. Done deal.   20. Hey papa al. Thanks for that link mate. Never even thought of Shopee. Found a heap load of parts & plastics. Reasonable prices compared to the Jogs. I gave the carby a good clean & syringed in some fuel. Engine would idle for a few seconds and then surge. So an obvious air leak somewhere. Tore down the engine. Clutch plates are kaput, Seals are bad (hence the surging) the head could do with a .5 rebore. Great thing is. Apart from being a rusty rolling wreck its not been bastardized. This one is going to be a long ass project. May make a rebuild thread for a laugh. Some pics of what i'm in for..... Payed 1000tb for it.
  21. Hey all. Dose anyone have experience with these bikes? I mostly work on the old 2T scooters. Yamaha Jog, Honda Dio & Suzuki Step. This is my first rodeo with the old 4 gear Thai 2T's. Not new to rolling wrecks (which it is). Engine runs. So another project to keep busy with. Parts don't seem to be a problem. Lazada ect. Im after any advice & a workshop manual. Or somewhere that could provide the plastics would be great. Cheers, S-J
