Oh yes it is true, her chemistry with me make her the most beautiful! As long I want that to be the truth, it is true.

When both is willing to nurture the relationship it creates the bonds needed to go the long way even we both getting older by time.

I guess you also see it when two people really care for each other, support each other and do the little extra to make the partner better, and also the present as the future.

Sounds like wishful thinking ???? but I believe if both is willing to do that extra little ting it is possible.

How does one do that? I mean finding someone beautiful when she ages?

If it's a really good movie I'd happily watch it a second time.

My movie has personally had some great highlights but there's way to much filler content... I'd have to make some changes as going through the filler for a second time would probably dilute the good stuff.

I don't regret my decisions, even the bad ones,. I regret the time I wasted inbetween making decisions.

That is a thought-provoking question - I have always enjoyed smoking and therefor it has contributed to my "quality of life". So yes, it was "worth it".

I'm now close to 69 years old - four years ago I had to stop playing squash as my joints would no longer allow me to play at a decent level. Two years ago I stopped mountain-biking as I no longer have the required stamina in my legs due to poor circulation. I can still manage the gym twice-weekly and occasional sex, but for how much longer?

I've always been quite fit and active despite the smoking but, once my final pleasures are denied me, then I'll call it a day. I hope to enjoy another ten years - a "decent innings" I think?

I've lived a pretty healthy lifestyle over the years and at 54 my joints are letting me down in a similar way. I've never smoked, drank too much or been overweight! I would settle for another ten years of an active life.????

Overall I've had a great life that many would envy and am now retired, look in good shape to the casual observer, and am financially secure. I've always been single and have never regretted that - I never wanted kids and I do not enjoy sharing a bed for more than an hour or so!

However............ at the age of sixteen I started smoking heavily and am now suffering the consequences to such a degree that I am  reliant on the UK health service and cannot move to Thailand full-time, just visit on extended holidays.

In case you are wondering - I am smoking again due to the stress of the whole Covid thing, and also because I do enjoy it and get a buzz out of it. One of the delights of Thailand is being able to enjoy a cigarette with a beer - can do it here but only outside and the evenings are too damn cold for me, even in the middle of summer!

This isn't a flippant question at all.

When you consider all the pleasure that smoking has given you, was it to some degree worth it?

Yes, I'm British and the BBC is now shocking! Maybe it always was.

Diana's death, BBC reported a whole country mourning whereas everyone I knew (skewed sample no doubt but....) Couldn't give a flying fig about it. Covid was hilarious if it wasn't so messed up! Ukraine same!

Pls tell me about the BBC and bangkok riots. I only know you as a poster, but i would trust you over the BBC anyday!

Like the BBC or what do you have in mind?

I trusted BBC news for a long time. And then I saw the BS which they reported about the 2010 protests in Bangkok (which I could see in real every day). Now I don't trust the BBC anymore.

It might be that they tell the truth most of the time. But how can I/we know that? At least sometimes they definitely don't report the truth. And at least for me that is a reason not to trust them.

If climate change is not real, according to you, please explain why the Insurance Council of Australia is warning 1 in 25 houses will become uninsurable by 2030 due to climate change.

Doesn't your argument go the other way too then? If climate change is hugely overblown the insurance companies will be insuring those houses in 2030?

That means you also know more than the 95% of the world's scientists who accept climate change is caused by anthropomorphic carbon dioxide emissions.

    Link to support that?

You're not rehashing the old myth that got debunked about 98% of academic papers supported climate change are you?

More sex? Maybe here. Certainly not back there in the netherworld. I have friends back there who have not seen any action for years. Way easier to find action back there 30 or 40 years ago, than now. People are very shut down these days. Especially western women.

40 years ago how much sex were the over 50s getting?

The rate of stds has gone up in older age groups by the way. I think the older crowd are getting more not less even in the west.

Of course if you are in the set of males that want young attractive partners (I am) that is close to zero now in the west and close to zero at any time in the last too.

Yes but its all been done. Music and movies peaked already. Music 1970s, movies 1990s.

World is full of kfc, maccas.

Not much difference between one place to another.

The road to everywhere looks more similar now, but there is a huge difference between a retreat in Thailand and a nightclub in Tokyo.

I think humanity is a pale shadow of it's former self. I do not think there is anything beneficial about having nearly 8 billion people sharing the planet. Nothing. People are more stressed, and in general less fulfilled. The environmental issues are staggering. We are currently entering into a very challenging period, and I think we are heading towards a cycle of hyper inflation (perhaps less so here, than in the US and Europe), and a massive economic correction. Cyclical, yes. But painful for those who are not prepared for it, nor refuse to believe it is on the near horizon, and especially for those barely getting by. Having said all that, the quality of life for many of us here, is infinitely higher than back in our home countries, especially for those of us who are not wealthy. And if things get as bad as I think they will worldwide, I think we will be at least partially sheltered from the pain here.

The quality of life for the vast majority of mankind is far, far lower now, than in the past. Technology barely helps. Sure, it creates some convenience. But, does that translate into fulfillment? I think most social media is a negative, extremely toxic and highly corrosive. It creates alot of envy, hate, stress, and division. Though I do love the internet and super fadt fiber optic, as well as the ability to download to my hearts content. That is sure one upside to technology.

The media is far worse than it used to be. We used to have investigative journalism, and great journalists, as well as great newspapers. That is gone, baby gone. Also, the media used to be less partial, and it seems like there may have been less censorship, or editorial control.

And if one of the definitions of fascism is corporate control of government, than wherein lies true democracy? Government completely lacks any independence these days. Even governments like the US, are corrupt to the bone. They are bought and paid for. Not as bad as here. But bad. I could go on, but won't.

There is a larger, in both absolute and percentage terms number of people living comfortable lives than ever before.

    Longer life spans.

More freedoms, from freedom to divorce to freedom to travel cheaply.

Less risk of dying in a war, famine, natural disastor.

    More entertainment.

    More sex.

More virtually free stuff from absurdly cheap biscuits to downloads.

    And affordable breast augmentation.????

Lets say it like this. If I could decide my own year of birth, would I keep it like it was, want to be born in 2000 or 2020 or maybe 2050?

No thank you, I keep my old age. In some ways the world is obviously better. But lots of humans all over the world do their very best to f$#$ it up. I am pretty sure it will get a lot worse before maybe one day it will get better again, maybe.

Ah,  are you sure that's not "you" keeping your date of birth the same?

if you were to have a random birth anywhere in the world I would suggest the best day to be born is today over any day in the past.

10% of world in defined abject poverty now, much lower than even one generation ago.

    only friends i need

But you had a need to join a forum and say that!

Broadly speaking everyone is either a friend, enemy, stranger or relation.

In posting you are expressing a need. The only question is, to which of the above group?
