  1. Hi all,

I've got the opportunity of a job up north developing and selling property. Have heard on here before to get a visa you need a degree and police check, but from people I have spoken to these paticular rules are only for teachers.

Does this mean that I can obtain a Non Imm B visa by producing a letter of employment / contract + company registration docs to the Thai embassy? Is there anything else they would require for this line of work?

My job my also entails trips to Laos and Cambodia so my employees would prefer me to get a one year multiple entry as paying the fees for re-entry permits could add up to be expensive. Can I obtain a multiple from Laos / Malaysia or Vietnam or would I need to return to UK for that?

Dare say this question has been asked a million times on this forum but would apreciate any help you can offer.

    Cheers

  2. I called UBC yesterday to query this and the guy I spoke to confirmed as a platinum subscriber I would get all the footy, when I asked about ESPN and STAR Sports he informed me these would remain on as normal and would not be took off air.

Panic over.... Although agree with all on here the service of UBC is garbage and wouldn't be surprised if the situation with Espn and star changes as MTV and VH1 were both removed with next to any notice at all.

I'm looking into other options to get the S.A Supersport channel as UBC is too overpriced for what you get.

  3. In Chiangmai and just found out that the England match is not on Star or Espn. It is on Supersport 8 a S.A station that I know you can get in BKK but not sure if the cable provider here has it?

Does anyone know if Thai Tv will show it. K.O around 12:45am, maybe Ch3 or 7?

    Cheers

  4. Hi all,

Can anyone recommend any nice places in Lamai Koh Samui?

Pref' with Air, mini fridge, Cable TV and a hot shower... anything not more than 1000bht(ish)

Any phone numbers you could give me would be great as wanna try and get something booked up today for xmas!

If not Lamai then Chaweng would be ok.

    Thanks

  5. Good idea in theory but you will have to pay the min' of a deposit in order to get the right documents to get student visa. If you don't keep up with your fee payments to the Uni surely the school can cancel your visa?

Could be quite expensive after the cost of the visa and payments to the uni.

  6. Hi all,

My first post, hope you are all well and not stressing too much over this visa malarky.

Going to Vietnam of 18th October. I have been working (without a W.P) For 2 years no problems as yet. Entered originaly on a 60day single entry tourist visa. Then obtained a single non imm B in Laos, followed by another 3mths later in Penang no questions asked. Went back to England in March 2005 obtained a 1yr non imm B multiple entry at the Thai embassy in Birmingham, again no questions asked. Everytime shown a letter from the school requesting they give me a non imm B and the documents and teaching licences of the school. Went to Germnay for World cup and the Thai embassy gave me a single entry non Imm B in Frankfurt after checking the school I'm at now was registered on their list. From what I have heard I will now also need a letter of approval from the MoE. Is this true?

Obviously a little concerned with 4 seperate non Imm B visas in my passport about the likelyhood of obtaining another one. The school have told me not to worry as they have 'a good relationship' with immigration.

Has anyone ever had any dealing with the Thai embassy/consulate in vietnam?

Thinking it may be better to just obtain a multiple tourist visa. I am assuming this new regualtion is ONLY effecting Visas on arrival. Correct??? Or if I try and go for the Non Imm B and they say no can I just ask 'em for a tourist visa?

any advice would be appreciated. I know some people on here could be pissed off that I don't have a degree or W.P and shouldn't really be teaching. But lets be frank I'm not the only one in this boat and if they really do start clamping down then the Thai school system will crumble.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Cheers
