    Fair call. As I see it, schools (other than teaching the basics) should provide direction and expose students to "life" situations. Schools should also be able to provide guidance/solutions to "life" issues, but I doubt this can be handed down by teachers.????????

    Update. Opened a Krungsri (yellow bank) account with internet and mobile banking. ATM card not required. Opened in a Central province. Took the wife as back-up but it was easy as pie. Only passport & Thai drivers licence req'd. Two fantastic,cheerful, helpful & funny girls. Bye Bye Blue bank with my 800k after next annual extension.????????

    I've lived here 10 years. 50/50 Pattaya and rural village. I would consider that a majority of male kids grow to become "Mummies Boys". Part of the problem is the kids father running away at a very early age and leaving no male role model for the son. ????????

    Sadly the dinasours will be around for a very long time. These dinasours are also known as "the army". There will be more coups and disruptions for as long as Thailand maintains its inclusiveness and believes it is the centre of the universe. ????????

    I worked in the Aus superannuation industry for 26 years, both in finance and then as a senior policy officer, across defined benefit funds, accumulation accounts and hybrid schemes. I saw incorrect legislation drafted as the legislative draftsman didn't understand the issues or reprecussions. I then saw politicians blindly vote without understanding the legislation. Screwed if you do, screwed if you don't.????????

    Fair enuff for those doing it tuff. Where the pension is a supplement would likely be a different story. Anyhow; we shall merrily carry on regardless with a pint half full attitude.????????

    I was a "true blue tax payer" for 40 years. I like to think I went a way to funding my own pension (obviously not fully). In addition those 40 years subsidised a truckload of dole bludgers. Moving closer to autocratic govt every day.????????

    I often wonder how much Aus pension money is actually spent in Aus. Holidays overseas and internet purchases must see a bit flowing out. Telling employed people where to spend their salary doesn't seem to be an issue. Don't forget that some expat spending o/s can fund a tourist trip to Aus.????????

    TLDNR. Anyhow.....each to their own and yes, the quieter places likely would be better. I visited Phuket once (2008) and did the touristy evening things with a bunch of mates. Once was enuff. Most locals were unfriendly, only wanting money without a smile. Happily ex-pat ensconced in East Pattaya for 10 years now.????????

    Agreed. Not gunna change as long as kids are indoctrinated rather than educated. Trouble is, the teachers do not know the difference as they went through the same process. Education is the initial step to learning individual life skills. "Individuals" are not encouraged (& sometimes not tolerated) here.????????
