  1. Obviously Vietnam handles Covid regulations more seriously: "A man in Vietnam has received a 5 year jail sentence for breaking home quarantine rules and spreading Covid. 28 year old Le Van Tri has been convicted of “spreading dangerous infectious diseases to other people” after he went to his home province in Ca Mau from Ho Chi Minh City in July, says the Vietnam News Agency." https://thethaiger.com/news/world/vietnamese-man-gets-5-in-jail-for-spreading-covid
  2. Nothing was blocked and it was normal shopping. Nothing hidden. All the 7-11 I can remember did the same at least here in Pattaya. They ignored the law and nobody cared. It went on like this very long. When the emergency decree came because of Covid they stopped. But it was not the same in supermarkets like Big C, Tops. There they obeyed. I don't know if it is still like this. But if you bought a certain quantity of alcoholic drinks it wasn't blocked. Should allow businesses to do their shopping.
  3. Not in Pattaya. Before the emergency decree 7-11 sold alcohol 24 hours. Legally this was not correct. But for whatever reason nobody cared.
  4. I remember that before the emergency decree 7-11 didn't care much about times. They are discussing to remove the decree after this month. Let's see what will be the case then
  5. The problem is not so much the pool but that condominiums are used as a kind of hotels (often without any licence and the government does not care). The worst are these with hordes of Chinese. And the expats that you see might also be customers of them and not owners. At least at my big condo it is like this - full of "snowbirds". They are almost the only ones that occupy the pool area. You don't see many owners there. In the end all owners pay for the maintenance of these "hotels". Such businesses should pay at least higher maintenance fees than normal owners. Especially here in Pattaya many condominiums are used like this. There is not much choice if you want to avoid this. Airbnb just made the matter worse.
  6. Perhaps the staff had Covid. Then you often don't taste and smell anything. A good example how important it is that the staff is Covid free. ????????
  7. Where is the problem. On the one hand they always added new hospital beds to the statistics so that they didn't reach the 80 percent where they wanted to reconsider the sandbox idea and on the other hand they reconsidered the reconsideration requirements so that they can continue with the sandbox idea. On top of it I just read in a news source that cannot be named that they are discussing to start the Phuket Freedom Day on December 1st. Then Phuket should be fully opened to tourists.
  8. I would be careful with old stuff. In my experience many things here deteriorate because of the heat and humidity even if you don't use them. I just had to replace the monitor (the screen got the so called vinegar syndrome - a chemical reaction that destroyed it) and two not much used hard drives at my PC died too. Also at my notebook I have the second keyboard already and one speaker does not work anymore. Especially the notebook was not used much. According to the hard drive data about one month runtime in several years.
  9. In my condo complex the pool is at not Covid times mostly used by people that are a kind of hotel guests. They stay in rooms others rent out and we all have to pay for it. The pool and the pool area has to look perfect for these hotel customers and so an external company does the daily maintenance. Not many other owners use the pool.
  10. I don't think that bars and whatever else will not open somewhen in October. Covid got too expensive for some people and they simply will call it "the new normal". We had such businesses open during Covid times already with regulations - that often were not enforced. I expect the same again.
  11. Bangkok, Hua Hin, Samui and more. There were enough examples already that bars or other entertainment venues spread Covid. It cannot work. People go there for socializing and because they drink something they cannot use masks. And to make the matter worse some people like bar hopping. So they don't stick to one place. And if one of them has Covid he might bring it to many bars.
  12. It is pretty simple with the alcohol. When it was allowed many people used the restaurants as a kind of bars to gather and drink with their friends there. I think there is no other reason why it is not allowed. So thank those people.
  13. I think it is understandable that entertainment venues are still closed. They are the most risky businesses in respect of Covid transmission. If they open them then the fight against Covid will be officially over.
  14. It might have a little be to do with the fact that it is the beginning of the month and the people just got money.
  15. Always so negativ. Who needs the bars. Without curfew you can order online food and ladies after 9 if you really need this. But I am confident that many entertainers will be waiting outside too. So I am sure that it will not be "NOTHING!!!!". Up to you to create your own entertainment if you really want it.
  16. You have to see it positive. Perhaps one day if enough sand was washed into the sea you might be able to walk to Koh Larn.
  17. I sent them several emails with screenshots of the error and photos of my passport and the visa. The answer was " ". No, that is too optimistic. It was "".
  18. I don't take NSAIDs often so I was free of them before the vaccination. My RA problem joints were much more painful after the vaccination and I had an extreme stiffness in the morning for about 3 days. I also had muscle pain. So it was a mixture of both. Now more than a week later I am almost back to my normal pain levels. The muscle pain disappeared completely. I will not take any medication until 2 weeks after the second shot. I don't take DMARDs or steroids (yet). So it is still easy to stop and start again with medication.
  19. I think slowly money gets more important than Covid. It is called the "new normal". Best might be to switch on the brain and decide for yourself how much risk you want to accept. I for myself avoid crowds and especially strangers without masks. Even being vaccinated the "new normal" doesn't prevent me from getting Covid. But the "old normal" prevented them from getting money. And also the 120 days grace period for Covid are over pretty soon. And yes - the main season is approaching.
  20. Yes. Not all monks are the same. "Thailand's 'jet-set' monk sentenced to 114 years in prison" https://www.reuters.com/article/us-thailand-religion-idUSKBN1KU0QD
