Yousaf is about as Scottish in heart and mind as my dog, and my pooch was born and raised in Thailand, However, he does identify as a McKenzie of McKenzie and barks in a clear Highland drawl.

As I said in my post, whatever is on the ID card is what you need to use.

Let her do it herself
That would certainly be the easiest way to go and she would then learn the procedure for future travel.

You must use the correct name, as on her ID card or passport. Any mistake in the spelling will negate the ticket. Domestic flights only need an ID

Thankyou Doctor Tom
How do I get tested for this ulcer ?
Unfortunately I had a bit of an argument with my current GP in Australia after my recent Echocardiography so he doesn't like me to tell him what to do
But I may have to get him to test me for a ulcer
An endoscope will either conform it or set your mind at rest. If during the procedure, they find one or more small ulcerations, they seal them using an attachment to the scope. Its uncomfortable, but you can have some light sedation and it will be pain free

Firstly, go see a doctor, as you don't know who is giving you advice here. So here I go, giving advice, as I have experienced the same., It sounds suspiciously like you may have an ulcer. Yes, the meds you are taking certainly won't help. Yes I use Nexium and yes, its freely available at a pharmacy. Check on google what dietary changes you can make to ease the symptoms.
Here is my disclaimer, I am not a medical Doctor, I am a real one, that is a PhD.

So, it's all fake news, is it?
No, its people reading stuff into the regulation that are not there. Its people panicking when they have no need to do so. Its people on forums spreading nonsense as fact. I will not be paying any of this new tax as I am not a Thai National, or tax resident, not registered for tax, here earning money from overseas.

Fair point.
I think I have that the wrong way around then. If your extension is due between 1st January and 31st March you may sail through. After 31st March you MAY be required to product some type of tax document at extension time. So, we may have to wait until the 1st April 2025 to see what happens.
This question may have been asked before, but with so many posts and threads I may have missed it, but can you apply for a tax return extension here? In other words, can you apply to submit your tax after the 31st March? If so, that might be a good idea so one can sit back, legally, and watch what unfolds after the 31st March 2025.
Why are so many people making stuff up and pushing out BS. Talk about deluded.

I know you will not accept this, but up north where I was a TP Volunteer for 9 years, our presence in uniform and whatever our build, we were always accepted and appreciated by everyone, including the Thai communities. Fortunately, Pattaya was "a million miles away" for us so we did not have to contend with "nasties" like yourself. May I suggest you go to your favourite bar stool, have a good moan about the TP and get "hissed"! No further comment from me.
Judging by the 'like' and 'I agree' buttons here, you and yours are not universally popular among the Thai expat community.

You are absolutely spouting your arrogant mouth off in this thread...you obviously don't know anything about the Volunteer program (which by the way have been helping the Police/Tourist Police all over Thailand for over 20 years now), so maybe just better to leave your bitter useless remarks unsaid.
No way mate. They need to be called out for their ridiculous presence. Where do you find them? among the girlie bars and massage shops. What do they look like? Usually old retired folk, pale, over weight, bald, failures, strutting about in some pantomime Police clobber. Its pathetic. Leave the RTP to do their job, or the tourist Police. Bitter. hardly, never bitter, just disgusted and sneering.

Here is the nonsense and danger of social media and this destructive 'new age' of so called 'news' and the exchange of 'information'. Whatever can happen, probably does happen, somewhere to someone. It has no relevance to me, or to the vast majority of the World. Babies born with two heads, 6 legs, people with eyes in the back of their heads, with no eyes, or 5 eyes, or 10 ears. All of this backed up with nonsense 'statistics', that someone has dreamed up. It used to be restricted to those 10c papers that had pictures of Aliens on every page, now its social media. Lord preserve us, if there is a 'Lord', or is that to be the next 'news' item?

#1 - Be sure to get the "Credit Advice" document from the bank originating the transfer to Thailand. This is the document that shows the originating bank's initiation of the transfer. When you arrive in Thailand, go to SCB bank and get the same "Credit Advice" document from them, showing the receipt of the transfer. Chaeng Watthana wanted both of these documents when I applied using the deposit method. Not sure if KK will require both, but almost certainly one of them.
#4 - You need to keep that balance above 800k until at least 3 months after you get your retirement extension. But I suspect you already knew that.
I don't think that is a legal immigration requirement, but you never know as it differs from office to office

Read the RTP regulations to increase your NOT so vast knowledge of Royal Thai Police Regulation's.
Use Google to translate if you can't find the English version.
Under limited circumstances a FTPA """civilian""" as well as a Thai police volunteer """civilian""" can make a legal arrest
And what pray are these 'limited circumstances' ? Anyone wanabee Walter Mitty who tried that on me would find themselves in Court. Not that they would ever have any cause to try it.

37 minutes ago, edwardflory said:It irks me that I see most posters have NO idea what a foreign volunteer (FTPA ) does or can do.
Most foreign volunteer's can speak more than one language, many have been police officers in their home country. I know of one FTPA person that speaks English, Italian, German and French, another person who speaks English, Japanese and Chinese. Many ""real"" police officers do not speak more than 2 languages, Thai and English. There are visitors / tourest in Thailand that speak over 100 languages and variations.
All FTPA have police clearance from their home country, pass background checks and interviews BEFORE starting training.
I can tell stories of how FTPA volunteer's have kept MANY people out of being charged or out of jail because of the ability to communicate with that person and translate to the command police officer.
If you have a problem, usually a FTPA can be found that speaks your native language.
As part of the training I was working the HQ desk when a taxi driver brought a confused scared lost older Albanian man to HQ. In about 5 minutes he was talking on the phone to a ""walty mitty idiot volunteer"" that could speak his language, was able to sort things out and contact his family to come get him.
Translation and compassion is a BIG part of FTPA service.
On the rare occasion, a FTPA volunteer will be involved in making a arrest - READ / RESEARCH the RTP regulations how this IS LEGAL. I made 1 arrest in 4 years, a violent drunk tourist.
I live here, in part, to keep away from people like you. I didn't come 6,000 miles to a new country to be greeted by interfering wannabees 'trying to help'. I don't need your help. just to be very clear, I resent you all. Google Translate does the job if need be. You look and act ridiculous and no wonder you get the response you get from the vast majority of normal expats. By the way, there is no citizens arrest in Thailand and you are a civilian.

I'm a huge fan of the NFL. I tend to follow different teams as the mood takes me and as their fortunes change. This season the focus must be on a three peat by the Chiefs and this looks entirely possible plus, of course, the up coming marriage of Travis and Taylor. Next is what Jim Harbaugh can do at the Chargers. Next for me will be how much old man Jones has managed to screw up the Cowboys for yet one more season. Lots to look forward to.

I despise these Walty Mitty idiots. Why don't they just retire to the bars and leave the real Police to do their job. I've even seen them at road blocks, getting involved in things that don't concern them. dressed in their ridiculous, pretend uniforms. Needless to say, I ignore them and deal with the actual cops.

Emissions of what? SAF is not 'sustainable'. SAF fueled aircraft emit a high percentage of CO2 as conventional Jet A1 fuel, then you have the impact of manufacture on top. Its yet one more stupid , environmental PR stunt, a scam on a gullible public. If you don't believe me, check out the UK governments recent action against Virgin Atlantic, link below.

This is getting painful, as well as irritating. What part of 'put down exactly what is on the ID card', don't you understand? If the Miss is not needed it won't matter and if it is needed well....... Now just go do it and let the rest of us get some peace
