    After getting the non-ed visa you could then apply for extensions of stay for attending a school. 

    Thank you @ubonjoe. For a foreigner under 49 years old not married  who wants to stay in Thailand 6-9 months, would you think getting a tourist visa, extending it, and then getting an education visa is the best way at this time? Cheers

  2. My girlfriend is from Laos, where we currently are (I'm a Brit). I would like to spend time with her in Thailand.

     

    I know Lao citizens can get 30 day tourist visa on arrival to Thailand. Can they extend their tourist visa at an immigration office without leaving Thailand?

     

    Furthermore, is it easy for a Lao citizen to get an educational visa in Thailand, granting her a longer visa? I would like her to study English and basic IT.
