  1. Nothing else than another “blame the others” game and looking for scapegoats: 1) Since end of November until New Years countdown: weekly music festivals and fireworks, with 10.000s of local Bangkok tourists flooding Pattaya, getting drunk and crazy without social distancing, tightly packed on the beaches. 2) Checking the official “Covid” statistics (in Thai of cause), one could easily see that the number of tourists testing positive from Test&Go and Sandbox on the second test after 1 week were approximately 7 times higher than those testing positive at the first test on day 1 : So they caught it here ! 3) The explosive increase in using antigen test self test kits, partly enforced by rules for the restaurants, Public Health test points and urging people to constantly test themselves had an immense effect on the statistics: It showed, what likely was already there long before. The ATK worked like a preselection filter, filtering out those without any SARS-Cov2 effects, concentrating and funneling those likely positive to the PCR tests, driving up the numbers in the official statistics based on the PCR tests. 4) The statistical effect described in 3) might also have an effect on their evaluation of OMICRON. (… I would really like to know, how many genetic sequences they made, just a negative PCR test probe for the S-protein and positive probes for N- and E-proteins doesn’t necessarily prove, it’s the Omicron variant…) However, by increasing the number of tests, increasing the likelihood of positive PCR tests, but assuming a similar total number of hospitalizations as in former “waves”, the percentage of serious cases is automatically falling.
  2. Anyway, I see it far more positive. We all know, Thais believe only Thai … Therefore, having a scientist standing up and voicing a hypothesis, controversial to the narrative of sectarian Dr.Jong, and even seeing that not suppressed, but printed by the mass media, is a good start.
  3. a small hint: Check the background of some of the medical advisors from the CCSA, … and you might be surprised to find some interesting bios, which explain these quarantine rules.
  4. And ??? What is so remarkable about that? 1 case among 2,437 new “cases” in a country with a population of 70 million …
  5. The wonderful new „Online Services“ website … Immediately crashing after less than 5 seconds on an iPad !
  6. Interesting to hear these claims … Any scientific studies in renowned medical journals to support this ? Or is it just the abbot of a certain sect telling you this?????
  7. I would call this a woke-style, total distortion of cause and effect ! There is not only a law, there is also common understanding. And here we have: A father, blatantly neglecting the law and the dangers involved. Crashing in a truck, because he did not drive in defensive style. And you blame the Police? Really?
  8. Let’s see it realistically: The Thailand Pass is nothing else than the same bureaucratic B.S. of the COE in a new application. Nobody, who is not really eager to come to Thailand, will take that hurdle of red tape. In essence, they are closing out normal tourists with that. Getting a hotel in the first week of the Thailand Pass with the new 1-night-quarantine proofed to be a terrible mess for a friend. Many tourists won’t come also, if they find out, they have to stay 14 days in an ultra-expensive hospital-quarantine if they or someone on their flight has just a positive PCR-test. But okay … end of 2022, millions of Chinese might come … ????
  9. THAT is the most ridiculous topic … They did not even manage to agree beforehand about a simple country list. ???? What will happen with more difficult and pressing questions ?
  10. ???????????? So - that means, we are talking only about 27 Countries ? Or did I incidentally miss, that Finland Denmark Sweden left the European Union ? ????
  11. Well, if I translate that to my own wording, what’s encoded behind the smoke screen of a politician‘s wording, that means: 1) We decided, to fully concentrate on the Chinese and Indian high volume market and use the time until they open up to prepare for that. 2) Our target group there will be families with kids making 1, maximum 2 week holidays 3) Our announced opening for western countries is only intended to dull the Thai „low class“ and keep them quiet 4) We will strive to direct the inflow of tourism money to the investments of us big shots 5) To keep the money in our big resorts, we will further „All-Inclusive“-offers with food and (soft) drinks, so that they never go outside the fence. Additional activities will be offered as high price packages, subcontracted at rock bottom prices Good luck with that! Seems, they never came outside their Thai HiSo bubble, and observed the constantly rising group of young Chinese FIT (frequent independent travelers) in Chiangmai … also those are partying and drinking like crazy. *) He also never observed, what’s pulling young, well earning Indians to Pattaya … *) forgetting, what was making Chiangmai popular among Chinese - the movie „Lost in Thailand“ aka. a soft version of „Hangover“
  12. Well … Andorra, Dominica, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, San Marino …. I am sure, those countries will generate millions of tourists flooding to Thailand ! ????
  13. Compared to that, the intended 500 baht entry fee is ridiculous…. For a family of 4, that means ~4000 baht before departure, another 3200 baht on arrival and that x 4 … roughly 28,000 baht for nothing. Add in to that an otherwise not selected ASQ hotel. And people still afraid to be dumped into an expensive quarantine hotel, due to a positive PCR test… …. Good luck, Anutin ! See you again in the Maldives, Seychelles, Mexico, Caribbean, Cuba, Tanzania, Kenya !
  14. You got me! I never hit the idea, it was a Trademark. Up to now, I always thought about sectarians and their dogmas … However, if you apply the old rule for criminologists: „Follow the money“, you might be spot on. Especially, if you see, how many billions were flowing into certain joint preparation meetings, advisory boards, NGOs, universities, the press (alone BBC got more than 300 million…) and also from whom since ~ 2016. to set up The Science ™️ . Comparing that with their parallel investments (even so late as October 2019) into companies, whose shares and sales skyrocketed later - might give at least a few people a hint, why The Science™️ would be more than useful. ????
  15. Read out of it, what you want… „Increases in COVID-19 are unrelated to levels of vaccination across 68 countries and 2947 counties in the United States“ … that study more or less says, that your initial demand get first 80% vaccinated, before opening the bars is nonsense, as you were told. The 80% vaccination rate would not lower possible increase in infection…
  16. I do ! You can be sure ! Thailand has roughly 550,000 deaths annually, that’s for 21 months nearly 1 million (exactly 962,500). Did that number hinder me before, to visit Thailand? - No ! Now we have had around 17,900 Covid deaths - that’s a mere 1.86 % of all deaths. So: Yes! Thailand, here I come !
  17. You forgot the 100‘s of millions spent … Not unlikely, the most successful marketing strategy ever !
  18. Exactly, what I expected… Now every looser feels obliged to add his 2 cents of worthless babble, just to get his 30 seconds of attention by TV and press. Phiphat, Anutin, NGOs like Rural Doctors, self proclaimed experts from Chulalongkorn, … and the list goes on. Especially those „experts“, proclaiming to know, what NOT to do, instead of describing workable ways, how to move FORWARD.
  19. Oh my Buddha, that means: we have to expect the worst ! ???? You remember the first weeks of this „successful“ prototype?
  20. Really, are you sure? I didn’t assume, those were vaccinated and PCR-tested foreigners. Seeing the guys in their hazmat gear, I assumed, there was an Ebola outbreak !
  21. I wished, it would be only Thailand … However, looking a little bit deeper into it: 330 politicians and office-holders from nearly 100 countries are also involved. Among them: Tony Blair. Maybe, we should first scratch our own nose … ????
  22. Well … first you mix up herd immunity with vaccination rate. But - let’s stay with your vaccination rate. Gibraltar had a vaccination rate of 119% (119% because they also vaccinated employees coming from the Spanish mainland). However, despite this vaccination rate they had a 2,500 % increase of infections in August. … but who would have expected something different from a vaccine, designed and tested to stop severe Covid, instead of creating sterile immunity?
  23. Well, that’s ~ 200,000 THB per capita, less than 6,000 € Nothing, you could call a success, if considering in what time period this money was spent. - Pre-Covid, some tourists spent that in 2 weeks !
