Is that Thais, or is it other nationalities? Second, do you find it smart and intelligent to eat the dish described, or do you think they do that because they do not care or have required knowledge to understand the danger?

It´s easy for them to make check as they wish outside, as most of us do not know as well as they will always have back-up saying that an anonymous report was made. The reason I asked them, if they had a system they can see if a person is overstaying, was that a fellow countryman died in my city, and we had to help the family and his children with embassy contact as well as immigration work as his wife had left him and he took care of his two kids alone. A knew he was on a super long overstay, and after he had died I asked the immigration boss if he could look how long. The only thing we found was an old 5 years ago expired passport, and they could not even see with that info.

As you are taking over a reply to another poster, you failed to point out what I asked you to. Moreover, you did apparently not understand my given reason why I concentrated on Thais and Thailand. There were no racism in my post, as I clearly pointed out why I focused on Thailand. The reason were it is a Thai forum. Nobody? Really? That´s just pure fiction. Sure there are many greedy people in Thailand, as that becomes a higher percentage when the crack between rich and poor is much wider than in many other countries. Especially the countries westerners are used to live in. However, we are probably talking about maybe 20-25 % (estimated), that are the ones taking advantage of every situation. The rest are just plain decent people that live their life right and fair. That´s what you say everyone about, when using nobody that way.

The local immigration offices have no authority to go in and check individuals for overstay, as well as there is no system in place that gives any note or alarm about such things. The only time local immigration officers have authority to check individuals for overstay in their system, are if they have been reported as connected to another crime or broken the law. For example traffic law. Of course there are exceptions as when they get a direct order to crack down on narcotics or other offences, as they also can check the validity of ones passport. However, they, according to the law, have no right to ask you to provide passport if you are not caught with anything related to the assigned check. So, normally they can only find individuals overstaying at a crackdown ordered from above or after another civilian have made them aware of the possibility.
