What’s LaTeX?...Whatever Your Age: Please CHIME-In!
My Dear LATEX Fans, Is LATEX important? Let’s end the dispute! And, let’s suggest the best ways for Oldsters to have some fun by learning how to use LATEX while improving their important cognitive skills. You might think you know how to pronounce LATEX, and that it sounds like latex, but no; LATEX is pronounced LAY-tek. There are many uses for LATEX, and not all uses are exclusively science related. However, if any on this forum are considering sending an article or two to “magazines” such as Nature or Science, then you will surely be lost without LATEX. But LATEX is not just for the scientists among us. And even “lay people” find it fun to learn and use LATEX, especially if they have access to a high-resolution printer on which they can create spectacular and beautiful documents of all types. As well, just the process of learning LATEX can be a welcome diversion from the typical humdrum lives we lead in places like Phuket and Pattaya. And anyone can learn how to use LATEX, even bar girls can learn LATEX. And many of us know just how smart the Pattaya ladies are. AND, come to think of it, if you happen to actually BE in a Pattaya bar while reading these words, why not take a moment to ask your newly found GF if she knows how to use LATEX. This OP will come in several parts. I have often been criticized for writing overly long crapola. So, this time, since this Topic is quite long in itself, this OP must be published in segments. This, the first segment, is just, basically, the intro. And following this segment, I will add much more pertinent and useful information in the comments section, including where to find decent tutorials for learning LATEX, the time required of you to learn LATEX (anywhere from 2-10 hours to 200 hours if you really want to become an expert LATEX-whizz), and much more! So now this is the time for readers to CHIME-in with your thoughts about LATEX, whether or not you have ever used LATEX, and, most importantly…How You Like It. Best regards, Gamma G. Please NOTE: Other than the opportunity to improve your cognitive abilities, learning LATEX can provide you with many other important advantages. Here are just two of the many… ONE: Mastery of LATEX may qualify you to submit your stories to such magazines as these two… TWO: With a little practice, you can turn out beautiful documents on your laser printer. And, you might ask, how much better will my document appear on the page by using LATEX, compared to that old slouch WORD, that WYSIWYG piece of crapola. Just look at the following comparison: HERE is an example-document taken from our old-favorite, MOBY DICK!.... Why is LATEX so great? See this table below… Nuff Said, right? (GG)

Would you ever marry a bar girl? If so, why?
I think I meant to say: "If I were to spend a significant fraction of my life with prostitutes, then I surely would deserve to have my head shrunk..."

Would you ever marry a bar girl? If so, why?
If I were to marry a "bar girl/prostitute", then I would first insist she got some help from a qualified therapist:

Are you having the average amount of sex?
Yes. Average for me. Enjoying it less though....

Which LED Light Bulbs in Thailand Most Closely Replicate The FEEL of The Old Incandescent Bulbs? (Same Question: Fluorescent Tube Lighting?)
My terrible experience after buying Lazada-supplied LEDs proves you correct. a. Plastic globes falling from the ceiling sockets like rain... b. Color designation completely inaccurate c. I did buy a few LEDs from HomePro, but the quality of the brand was not to my liking. d. I prefer the stable and good quality manufactured under the Panasonic brand. However, as I mentioned above, I have not seen them for sale in the local stores, with the exception of the 20 Panasonic lamps I purchased this week.

You know, I have been thinking... What this forum really is missing is a thorough discussion of the many uses of LATEX. Will you do it? Or, shall I?

Any possibility of you sharing a (Lazada) LINK to the identical product you are using? No doubt there are those here that might want to try one or two...(for sure).

Myriad? Really? I always limit the number of my questions to the bare minimum. "KILOMETRES"? Really? (How do you pronounce the word 'aluminum'?) Concerning the distance one walks on any typical 18-hole golf course, it is best to keep confine your drives to the straight and narrow. If you spend your days continually hooking and slicing, you may get more exercise, but you will certainly shorten your lifespan due to the resultant increased frustration and stress.

BARD: “EMPOWERING BOON” for ‘OLDSTERS’, Helps Geezers Reach TRUE Potential!
GREAT! Thank you! I always LOVE learning new words, and this is a fact that Bard knows well. Also, I readily admit that my writing is windy, but I try to draw the line at intentional pedanticism.

BARD: “EMPOWERING BOON” for ‘OLDSTERS’, Helps Geezers Reach TRUE Potential!
We cannot recall or remember ALL of our experiences. We know by now, just through modern-day brain science, that it is impossible for anyone to recall passing through the birth canal. PS: Did you not mean "apodictic"?

BARD: “EMPOWERING BOON” for ‘OLDSTERS’, Helps Geezers Reach TRUE Potential!
Also, it seems to me that you have inadvertently validated the BASIC POINT of this OP. The point is that we do not need, or wish, to be able to retrieve all of the information in our brains, such as facts and dates in history, as well as many other factoids. The BEAUTY of BARD is that this kind of tool can help us to keep our minds less cluttered. Anytime we need some random fact, number, or date, we can just ask Bard. Someday, BARD will be directly connected to your brain, and then you will have easy access to all the information known to Man, in the blink of an eye. Such a scenario will NOT make us lazy. instead, we will have more time for introspection and contemplation concerning thoughts of more value. You and I are so lucky to now be living in the Age of Bard.

BARD: “EMPOWERING BOON” for ‘OLDSTERS’, Helps Geezers Reach TRUE Potential!
You SAY that you forget. But, can you PROVE that you forget? For example, I am quite SURE that you will, now, never forget the flavors of quarks, No matter how hard you try.

A word about HOARDING Behavior: Although I am not a typical hoarder filling my house with useless items, like 10,000 balls, for example. I still do sometimes hoard things like lightbulbs when I find one I like, and one that seems to be discontinued. In this case, from what I can gather, the Panasonic bulbs that I purchased this week are no longer being manufactured. Therefore, since I really like them, and since they have proven so reliable, and since they put out 2700K light, I have purchased 20 lamps, instead of just a few. This number will probably last me about 10 to 15 years. Of course, there are other examples of hoarding which I do not condone. I am speaking of behavior such as hoarding TOILET PAPER. This happened in the USA, for example. But here in Thailand, there is really no need to hard toilet paper. Because, here in Thailand, we have the ubiquitous BUM GUN. Speaking of hoarding BALLS, I love the great HOARDING FILM about the Collyer Brothers and their balls: I am sure this will never happen to me. I only hoard light bulbs.

Life is NEVER about being Either/Or. English is a rich language full of punning possibilities. When we are very young, we learn about the dual nature of light. And that is just the beginning.

BARD: “EMPOWERING BOON” for ‘OLDSTERS’, Helps Geezers Reach TRUE Potential!
For some strange reason, it seems that people here cannot read. For example: a. I never implied that BARD should be used for learning. b. I stated that BARD can be used by OLD GEEZERS to REFRESH their AGING memories about facts that they had FORGOTTEN. c. I NEVER implied that BARD was useful for LEARNING something NEW. d. I would NEVER advise a young student to LEARN something NEW from BARD. d2. Why? Because a young person learning something new, CANNOT TELL WHEN BARD IS HALLUCINATING. A young person who had never studied the material, and then forgotten the material, would be UNABLE to distinguish FACT from FICTION. e. I don't know why everybody is suddenly talking about their fear of laziness from using BARD to learn something new, or design a DIET BOOK? I Never implied that BARD could be helpful in this way. f. Bard is EXTREMELY useful for OLD GEEZERS to quickly refresh their memories about various topics, and many facts, which they studied and then, 50 years later, FORGOT. I don't know why people cannot read. But, they cannot. THAT...is...a....FACT. Just ask Bard.

Having neglected to properly cite the quotation from The New York Times in the OP, here is the link: https://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/27/health/27well.html Quite a nice little article, as is usual in the NYT, and you might enjoy it, even.

My Bread Has Begun to Taste Like Cheap Supermarket Cake. Could this be a Ukraine-War-related Wheat Supply Problem? Or….?
This is the result of a 1.5 Kg loaf of bread after reducing added sugar from the original recipe calling for 5 tablespoon sugar to 2 tablespoons sugar. The look of the loaf is better, and it seems to have risen slightly higher with the reduction in added sugar. All other variables were unchanged. It's still too HOT to slice. Some like it hot, but I do not... Next loaf, we will try zero added sugar, which is where we want to be. If The Loaf Also Rises, as Hemingway would, say, then problem solved.

How Long Since You Last OutWalked Your Thai Dog?
A Thai dog, in this case, can refer to any old breed of dog, but the distinguishing factor must be that the dog has been acclimatized to the Thai weather. When you outwalk a dog, it just means that you outdo your dog at walking. The Taiwanese dog, on the other hand, may be a specific breed of dog. Many people in Taiwan believe that there is a specific breed of dog which they designate as being a Taiwan dog. You can search Taiwan dog on Google to see what the Taiwan dog looks like. I had one in Taiwan. Also, a dog that I think looks truly amazing is the Thai Ridgeback dog, a breed specific to Thailand: I would dearly love to see you outwalk a Ridgeback. Care to try? (Beautiful beast, however. Sort of like what I imagine when I read The Hound of the Baskervilles.) Amazing dog, though!!!
