  4. The term Anglo-American is sometimes defined as including English-speaking countries around the world with similar values and demographics, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

  8. Here's a summary of the history of China and Taiwan over the last 1,000 years: 10th-13th centuries: Taiwan remains largely unexplored and underdeveloped, inhabited primarily by indigenous Austronesian peoples with minimal contact with mainland China. 13th century: Chinese fishermen and merchants begin to establish settlements along the coastal regions of Taiwan, but no formal government administration is set up. Late 14th century: Ming dynasty establishes control over the island of Taiwan, mostly in the coastal areas. 1624: The Dutch East India Company establishes a trading post in southwestern Taiwan, beginning a period of Dutch colonization. 1662: Ming loyalist and military leader, Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong), expels the Dutch and establishes the Kingdom of Tungning, with the hope of using Taiwan as a base to launch a campaign against the Qing dynasty in mainland China. 1683: The Qing dynasty conquers Taiwan, incorporating it as a part of Fujian province. 1895: Following the First Sino-Japanese War, China cedes Taiwan to Japan as part of the Treaty of Shimonoseki. 1945: Japan surrenders at the end of World War II, and the Republic of China (ROC), led by Chiang Kai-shek's Kuomintang (KMT) party, assumes control of Taiwan. 1949: The Chinese Civil War ends with the Communist Party of China, led by Mao Zedong, establishing the People's Republic of China (PRC) on the mainland. Chiang Kai-shek and the KMT retreat to Taiwan, where they establish the ROC government-in-exile.
  9. British colonialism had significant implications for slavery. The British Empire played a major role in the transatlantic slave trade, transporting millions of enslaved Africans to the Americas and other colonies. The trade in enslaved Africans was a key source of wealth and power for the British Empire, and helped fuel the growth of British commerce and industry. The enslavement of Africans also had devastating impacts on the enslaved populations, who were subjected to brutal treatment, forced labor, and a lack of basic rights and freedoms.
  10. My links where taken down by moderaters...I will give you a short summary: This rosy picture of colonialism conflicts dramatically with the historical record... ...it is clear that somewhere in the vicinity of 100 million people died prematurely at the height of British colonialism 1881 to 1920...larger than the combined number of deaths that occurred during all famines in the Soviet Union, Maoist China, North Korea, Pol Pot’s Cambodia, and Mengistu’s Ethiopia You did a great job saving the Chinese society and people with you two opium wars Native American population has skyrocketed... African continent... You know how to Google...
  11. Are you not aware of camera optics? Even modern private-owned satellite imaginary can snap a photo of a tennisball in your hand. Imagine what the Chinese and other high-tech nation states can do with their secret military grade stuff. Weather balloons go astray all the time. This is just a convenient story to be used for more anti-sino propaganda to build up for another imaginary war. Your war machine need constant feeding.
  12. There's no trick. They have very efficient satellites for that job. This story is just another chance to bang the drums and put more fear into the fragile minds of all freedumb loving folks.
  13. It's a weather/scientific balloon. The Chinese have satellites like any other nation. I belive you're swallowing the other parts propaganda...
  14. Do you ever consider some history and the millions who died at the hands of the Brit, and Mr. Adam Smiths invisible hand? That's also where all the garbage comes in, by the way...
